Chapter 141: Shameless
By the time they woke up, Sunnie had already gone outside to wash up and get changed.
They stared at each other after getting up from bed. "Did we really fall asleep?" Eris asked, surprised.
"How’s that possible?" Karl couldn’t believe it at all.
"I guess the female’s voice isn’t that bad..." Zayn added.
"She really is a goddess," Zukka nodded.
---
They were summoned that morning for the second round. Sunnie had washed up and dressed in something fresh—a black and white loincloth that covered her up pretty well.
She carried Maren in her arms as they made their way out of the wooden house toward the gathering spot for the next task.
While they were walking past the stream side to get to their destination, they heard people complaining loudly.
Some bear beastmen had gone to the stream to take their morning bath and noticed strange things.
First, some parts of the water were smelling odd. Next, some who were already in the water had bumped into the dirty disposable items Sunnie had tossed in.
They were speechless after they smelled it and realized what it was.
"What’s this?!"
"Oh gosh! This is terrible! Why does this smell like this?!"
"How is this possible?! Now I smell bad!"
They all cried out loud. They had gone out for some washing up and ended up soaking themselves in filth through the water. Now they all smelled terrible.
While they screamed and cried out loud over what had happened to them, Sunnie casually smiled as they made their way past, ignoring them.
"What’s happening over there?" Luka inquired, curious.
Sunnie smiled with a shrug. "Karma, I guess." She pretended as if she hadn’t done anything as she walked off. Azure followed behind with a smile as they left.
The beastmen kept screaming at the top of their voices, disgusted and speechless by what they had all been swimming in.
---
The tribe leader arrived at the gathering. He welcomed them yet again for the second round, and while he was speaking, some of the bear beastmen who had taken their bath in the stream walked into the scene.
Immediately, everyone turned and stared at them, their hands over their noses as they squeezed their faces in disgust. Everyone could perceive the terrible smell coming from them.
"What’s that terrible smell?!"
"Why do they smell like poop?!"
Everyone murmured while glaring at them. "Is this some sort of joke? What’s wrong with them?"
"They smell so terrible I can’t even talk properly." They shook their heads while looking away. Everyone kept their distance to avoid the awful smell.
The bear beastmen stood there quietly, feeling embarrassed. They knew how they smelled—like poop. They had tried washing it off but to no avail. So they came like that, feeling like poop themselves.
Their tribe leader simply glared at them, looking away while feeling embarrassed by them.
"They should leave already. We didn’t invite any pig tribe around here," someone said as they all laughed.
Sunnie and her team joined in the laughter as well. Sunnie felt satisfied. It was a minor achievement, but at least she had taught them a lesson for what they had done.
---
The tribe leader proceeded to present the next stage of the competition. It was pretty simple.
"You all have to find a rare leafy herb." He explained the herb while stating its characteristics. "It’s called the glimmering leaf because it’s always wet and glimmering."
As he described the leaf in detail, he said, "You have to find it. The first team to return with the herb will be the winner of this round."
Everyone got the instructions, and without hesitation, they all took off, dispersing into different areas to go look for it.
---
Sunnie and the rest had strolled out of the tribe’s gates again, tracking down the herb in the surrounding bushes.
The bear tribe had also followed them outside, pretending as though they were also looking for it on their own at the side.
Sunnie scoffed as she caught sight of them being sneaky at the sides. "These shameless people, do they really think they’ll have their way this time around?"
She shook her head as she led the way. They all followed while looking for the herb.
Everyone searched through the bushes and gardens around, examining the leafy herbs they came across to see if they matched what they were looking for.
Sunnie and the rest were still searching through their own area, and while they looked, they couldn’t help but notice the bear tribe peeping and monitoring them from a distance.
They scoffed, speechless. "Shameless," Little Black insisted. "We should get rid of them."
Zayn stepped forward. "Don’t worry, just keep going. I’ll handle it." He volunteered as they stared at each other.
They blinked and then nodded. This was partially the first time Zayn had offered to do something. They guessed he was also annoyed by this.
And so they continued moving as Zayn disappeared into the bushes while they went ahead.
---
The bear tribe was still sneaking around with their leader leading the way. They were monitoring Sunnie from a distance to see where they would go so they could follow.
They had hidden in the surrounding bushes, waiting for Sunnie and the rest to make a move so they could tail them.
But when they peeked through to see where they were and what they were doing, they saw Zayn directly in front of them. Zayn had a cold expression, domineering and ruthless, with both arms folded.
Seeing him sent shock through their veins as the bears all jumped backwards in fear.
"What are you doing?!" Their leader mustered the courage to question. "Why are you standing there? Who are you trying to scare?"
But Zayn kept a calm and cold expression as he folded his arms, glaring at them. He had a kind of vibe that would make anyone quaver as he asked "Shouldn’t I be asking that question? Why are you stalking us?"
