Chapter 237: The Moment
The atmosphere that night was calm and homely as Elza and the other women served the meal for everyone. It was a huge crowd of people, as their tribe had significantly increased.
A large number of people gathered around the campfire that night. Luckily, the meal was big enough to feed them all, and they made sure that the newcomers had received a decent amount to enjoy.
Sunnie smiled as she stared at them enjoying the meal. They ate in a hurry, so she said, "Don’t rush it too much. Take your time. You’ll have more to eat in the future." She assured them with a smile.
While they ate, they brought up fun discussions to soothe the atmosphere, talking about all sorts of chaotic things while making everyone forget what had happened.
While they discussed, Ronan was sitting on Sunnie’s side. He couldn’t stop blabbing to her about all that had happened in detail. Sunnie and the rest casually listened to his rambling while smiling and shaking their heads.
He complained about how Maren didn’t share her stuff with him and ate most of her things alone.
Maren was sitting with Mii. The two ladies had grown tall enough to be seen as mini adults. She stared at Ronan as she rolled her eyes. "And why would I share it with you? You should go and get yours."
Ronan stuck out his tongue at her as everyone laughed at the harmonious scene.
The newcomers were also getting comfortable with the scene. They found themselves smiling while finding peace in the fun happening around them. It was truly becoming peace for them in a short period of time.
The moon hung brightly above as Sunnie smiled, watching everyone eat and enjoy the night scenery. At that moment, she casually ran a hand through her stomach while she felt a rush of pain.
At first, it didn’t seem like much, but then she felt a growing, immense pain in her stomach. Soon it became unbearable to handle.
"Mama... you’re bleeding!" Ronan instantly announced what he saw, and everyone paused. They turned around to see Sunnie still sitting there with a hand over her stomach.
Sunnie was having a hard time breathing as she pressed her hands through her stomach, slowly panting while sweat built up all over her face. She was struggling to keep it together as she slowly spread her legs while it got worse.
At that moment, they instantly knew that she was due for delivery and didn’t waste any time at all. Immediately, everyone rushed to their feet as Eris and Luka approached her.
They gently carried her up while Elza led some women to the cave to begin making preparations for where she was going to deliver. While they made the preparations, they brought Sunnie in and gently laid her down on one side.
"Go get the medication!" Elza instructed as they rushed to gather the medication she had asked for, while they began cooking it almost immediately.
The newcomers didn’t do much. They were rather surprised at the sudden scene as they sat around and watched what was happening along with the chipmunks. At some point, they too got nervous as they got up to their feet and began pacing around while worrying about what was happening inside.
The women laid Sunnie down and gently ran warm leaves around her body while soothing it. They fed her some medication to calm her down while preparing some other for her.
In the meantime, Elza and some other women began the process of delivering the baby. They gathered around Sunnie while slowly helping her through the process.
Heat dripped down Sunnie’s body profusely, veins popping as she struggled with everything she had to push. She began pushing, her legs weakening in the pain that rushed through her. The women were around, slowly helping her through the process with Elza at the forefront coordinating it all.

The process was already in motion while Sunnie screamed and cried from inside through the delivery. The rest were outside, pacing back and forth anxiously as they listened to her cries.
Eris was getting nervous as he paced back and forth. He went to sit down as he sighed, "No, I shouldn’t be worried. She’ll be okay... She’s done it before, so she should be okay."
Luka and the rest turned and stared at him for a while without saying anything. Soon, he got up to his feet and began pacing around again as Sunnie cried out loud from the outburst of pain.
"What if something happens to her? It seems it’s worse this time around. Do you also think so?" He stared at Luka, who shrugged, also looking worried.
Eris panicked as he paced around some more. "I think we should go inside and hold her hand or something. Maybe that would ease her pain? I don’t know... maybe she’s already in immense pain at the moment. Should I go inside and be with her? I’m sure she’d want to see me."
"You can’t go inside," Little Black said as he sighed, staring at the scene ahead. He was worried as well, even though he was trying hard to stay calm. All of them were extremely worried.
The process was taking longer than expected. It was becoming unbearable for them as they wondered what was happening inside.
Maren and Mii sat together, trying to keep calm even though they were worried for their mother inside. They didn’t know what else to do but sit and anticipate what was happening.
Ronan was extremely worried. He had learned of what was happening after Luka had explained everything to him. He went to sit down with Maren. "Sister, do you think Mama will be okay?" He had tears in his eyes as he stared up at his sister.
But Maren smiled as she pulled Ronan closer in a warm hug, letting him sob in her arms while she gave him the warm comfort that her little brother needed.
