Chapter 238: Double Delivery.
The three kids hugged each other warmly as Maren assured them, "Don’t worry, nothing will happen to Mama at all. She will be okay."
"And little brother? Will little brother be okay?" Ronan asked while also staring at her.
She smiled with a nod. "Don’t worry. Our little one will be okay no matter what." She said as she held her little brother closer in a hug while they waited for the results.
But soon, they heard a cry—a little child was crying. Immediately, they all stared in the direction of the cave. Excitement ran through their veins as everyone smiled at themselves while staring toward the cave.
"She did it... I think she delivered," Luka expressed with a deep smile.
Eris immediately broke into tears as he went down on his knees. He could feel the excitement rushing through his veins while he watched the cave and listened to the cry of a baby.
He couldn’t believe it had happened. He couldn’t believe that she had delivered and now he was a father. The excitement rushed through his veins and simply left him in tears.
Immediately, Luka smiled at Eris. "You’re crying."
"No, I’m not," Eris denied as he struggled to his feet. They were all happy hearing the cry and believed that Sunnie had successfully given birth. Now they waited for one of the women to come out and pass on the official news to them.
But immediately, Zuna rushed out. She was in a hurry and didn’t even look in their direction as she went to get some medication from the pot.
This left everyone there confused. They all paused as they stared at each other and at Zuna, wondering why she was in a hurry and what was happening in there.
Immediately, Eris and Luka approached her as they asked, "What’s happening? What’s with the medication? Is she okay? Please tell me that Sunnie is okay..."
"What’s happening in there? She has delivered, right?" Luka inquired.
Zuna stared at them. They could clearly see the worry in her expression as she said with a deep sigh, "Yeah, she has delivered and she’s healthy. But it’s twins—another baby is on its way!"
"....."
Everyone went mute. No one spoke. No one knew what to say as they stared at Zuna and then at themselves in shock. They couldn’t believe their ears. They couldn’t believe what had happened.
"A twin...?" Little Black managed to say.
"Yes, and now Elza is struggling to know how to handle her. She asked for some medication to calm her down... but we’re working on it. We’re trying our best." She said.
At that moment, one of the newcomers walked in—a squirrel beast woman who seemed confident as she spoke. "I can handle this."
They stared at her.
She explained, "I’ve been delivering for ages now, and I’m exceptionally good at handling twins. So if you could give me the opportunity, I’d be more than happy to help her out." She explained.
There was silence as they stared at each other for a while, clearly wondering what to decide at the moment. Eris said, "Go, please go and assist as best as you can. Make sure that she is safe." He instructed as the woman nodded.
Immediately, Zuna led the woman into the cave. She explained to Elza that the woman said she was good at this, and Elza happily accepted her. Immediately, the woman proceeded into action.
Sunnie was bleeding profusely while she sweated. She panted, cried, and struggled with everything in her to deliver the baby while they tried their best to help her out as soon as possible.
The woman was quite tactical in her approach. In a shorter period of time, she managed to help Sunnie deliver the other cub. Immediately, they pulled the cub out while allowing Sunnie to slowly calm down after she was done delivering the last cub.
Her veins popped but soon slowly calmed. She felt sore all over while her whole body slowly began calming down after she was done delivering the cub. Sweat and tears filled her eyes and body as they slowly cleaned her up while covering her in clothing.
Then two cries filled the atmosphere. The people outside instantly heard two cubs crying as celebration sparked. Zuna had also come outside to announce that the cubs had been delivered successfully.
They celebrated more, and everyone joined in. They were finally relieved of the stress they had been going through for ages while worrying about Sunnie and the cubs. But it had gone smoothly, and Sunnie had delivered.
Eris approached Zuna immediately. "I’d like to go and see her. Let me go." He explained.
Zuna smiled with a nod.
Ronan also rushed to the scene with Maren following behind.
"I want to go and see Mama too! I want to go in!" The little boy’s eyes were already swollen from excessive tears.
But Maren pulled him back with a smile while comforting her little brother. "Mum just delivered now. She’s tired and exhausted, so she needs to get some rest. Okay? So let’s leave Mama for some time. Later we’ll surely go and see Mama."
Ronan wiped his eyes as he slowly nodded. "Is little brother and sister okay too?"
Mii smiled with a nod. "Don’t worry, they’re certainly okay. And you’ll get to see them very soon. So don’t cry, okay? Let’s go get you something to eat. There, there... don’t cry." The two girls calmed him down while wiping his tears.
Ronan nodded as he heard that they were going to get something to eat—it was the only way to comfort the little one. He didn’t argue and slowly followed his two sisters off to find something to eat.
While they left, Zuna led Eris alone inside to see Sunnie while also going to meet his little cubs who had been safely delivered. He was nervous as he made his way into the cave to meet what he wouldn’t know what to expect.
