Chapter 138: Baby Problem III
She stood there, arms folded, watching him dress her up. It took longer than expected; it turned out Azure really didn’t know how to dress the kid at all.
Sunnie gave a long tutorial. "Put it there... from there... no, not that... there..."
Maren wasn’t helping matters at all. It was as if the little one didn’t want to get dressed. She was running from one place to another, naked and happy. Azure had to catch her each time and put the clothes on her.
Azure followed instructions before he got it right. Finally, Maren was all dressed up and in Azure’s arms.
He let out a deep sigh of relief as he said, "Finally, that was exhausting."
Sunnie smiled with her arms folded, watching him. "Congratulations. You’ve learned how to change the little one. I guess you’ll be doing it more often now."
"....."
Azure’s face went pale as he stared at her. It was as if she had just mentioned a horror movie scene or something.
She raised an eyebrow with a smile. "What? You don’t want to?"
He shook his head. "No! I want to. I’d like to!"
Sunnie burst out into laughter. "Okay, okay. Sure."
She turned to the waste. "Hmm, where to throw away this stuff now..."
Azure stared at it as well. "Into the bush?"
Sunnie thought for a while and then said, "Come to think of it, toss it into the water."
".....?" He stared at her. "Huh?"
She smiled. "Yes. Since we’ve already started, let’s end it with a bang."
He smiled with a nod. "The female is getting petty. I like it." He took the waste and tossed it into the waters.
"Not disposed well. Not disposed well," Maren said while staring at the waste in the water.
Azure closed her eyes. "Let’s go. Don’t learn from Mama and Papa."
Sunnie smiled as they turned and took off.
On their way, Sunnie stared at Maren, who now had a bright smile on her face. "Now you’re smiling, huh? You didn’t seem happy a while back."
Maren smiled. "Papa cleaned me."
Azure smiled. "Yes, I did."
Sunnie smiled. "Well, now Papa looks like a mess."
Maren said, "I’ll clean Papa!" She rubbed her hand against Azure’s face. Sunnie simply smiled while watching.
Azure then said, "Next time, if you want to poo again, come and tap me and tell me ’poo,’ okay?" He stared at Maren.
Maren nodded diligently.
"Repeat after me: Papa, poo."
She blinked, staring at him without saying anything. He said it again, and she said nothing.
Sunnie smiled.
"Repeat..." He said it about five times before she finally spoke.
"Poo."
Azure smiled proudly as he patted her hair. "Good girl."
Sunnie smiled as they moved. "You’ve already grown, so you should stop messing yourself. Okay?"
Maren nodded diligently as Sunnie smiled. "You did that last time. I guess you’re not stopping anytime soon."
---
They soon returned. Standing at a distance from their wooden house, Sunnie could see Luka standing close to the house.
"Papa Bear!" Maren called out happily.
Luka turned and stared at them. He stiffened, blinking. He looked like a thief caught at the scene of a crime.
He blinked as Sunnie and Azure smiled, approaching.
"You’re finally back. How are you feeling?" Sunnie inquired.
Luka said nothing. Instead, his stomach spoke for him. It groaned aloud as Sunnie stared down at it.
"Papa Bear is hungry," Maren stated the obvious as Sunnie smiled at Luka.
"I knew you’d smell our meal and return. I’m glad you’re back. Would you like to come in and eat?"
Luka didn’t say anything. Standing there staring down, it was obvious that he wasn’t willing to come in yet.
Sunnie smiled as she said, "Wait here. I’ll bring you some food. Okay?"
---
Sunnie, Azure, and Maren entered the room as all eyes fell on Azure and Maren.
"He washed her up..." Little Black pointed out.
"But now he looks like a mess," Eris stared at him from head to toe.
"Shut up," Azure snapped as he went to put the baby on her mattress.
"How did it go? Did you fight with little Maren or what?" Eris inquired, but Azure didn’t say anything.
Sunnie went and got a big portion of the meal in a bowl.
"Where are you going with that?" Little Black inquired.
"I’ll be back in a second." She smiled as she went outside with it. They were all inside, asking Azure endless questions about how the changing went.
---
Sunnie came outside to meet Luka standing there, pacing back and forth. He was thinking of leaving again, but his stomach said otherwise. He was clearly hungry, so he didn’t bother.
He waited for Sunnie to come out, and then she offered the meal. "Would you like to sit down and talk?"
Luka stared at her and stared at the meal. It was obvious that he didn’t want to stay. He wanted to take the meal and simply leave.
But Sunnie said, "You’re not going to take my meal if you don’t sit down with me to eat it. So decide wisely."
He stared at the meal in her hand and then at her. The aroma was alluring. He had smelled it from a far distance, and his nose instantly danced to it, leading him straight here.
He was hungry and desperately wanted to eat this. So it was obvious that he didn’t have any other alternatives.
Luka slowly brought his head down as he slowly nodded.
Sunnie stared at him, wondering what he was up to now.
But Luka simply said in that moment, "Okay... I’ll stay and eat."
Her face slowly lit into a smile as she nodded. "That’s good. Stay here. The atmosphere is good for eating out tonight." She offered as the two of them sat down at a corner there, both sitting on the same rock they had sat on the previous night.
She handed Luka the bowl of meal, and he instantly dug in and began eating without any hesitation, while she watched him eat with a big smile on her face.
