Chapter 177: Some Scolding
Sunnie’s jaw dropped as she stared at the system notification. How could that be the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes?
She was utterly speechless and heartbroken because the coins she had struggled to earn had been taken—ten thousand heart coins at that.
She gasped in shock as the system gave her the details of what had happened and how her husbands had sneaked into the hyena tribe.
But then again, Sunnie questioned the system. "I mean, they started it first. So why was what my husbands did wrong?"
[The system doesn’t necessarily care about who was wrong or right. The system is more interested in whether the task is being carried out.]
[The system requires the Host to tame the husbands so they don’t harm the INNOCENT.]
At that moment, Sunnie understood that some people in the tribe were also innocent but had now lost their source of food and would probably suffer for the crimes of the wicked.
Sunnie sighed. "You certainly can’t please everyone." She mourned her loss of heart coins while getting angry at her husbands. "I’ll teach those rascals a lesson for sure."
While she sat there, the system beeped again.
[Ding!]
[On a brighter note! Congratulations again—the Host is pregnant!]
[The time period for delivery is unknown and unpredictable but will be very soon. So the Host should be alert at all times!]
The system disappeared as Sunnie stared at it for a while. "How unreliable... You should have started the day with better news like that, not the bad one."
Just then, Elza and Zuna walked into the cave room. They had prepared some soup to feed Sunnie, so when they saw her awake, they were impressed and happy.
Zuna flashed a smile as she said, "Finally..." She came to sit beside Sunnie. "How are you doing?"
Elza ran a hand over Sunnie’s forehead. "Are you feeling dizzy? Tired or anything?" she inquired.
But Sunnie casually shook her head with a smile and said, "I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me at all."
Elza smiled. "That’s good. You’ve eaten so little recently, so enjoy this."
Sunnie smiled at the soup presented to her. "Thanks a lot." She looked up at Zuna. "And where is everyone? Like my husbands?"
"Well, they’re outside," Zuna said.
"All of them?" Sunnie asked.
"Well, yeah," she nodded.
Sunnie smiled even more. "That’s good. Well, go help me call them in. All of them. Tell them I have something extremely important I’d like to speak to them about. Something extremely important, so they all should be here without fail."
She was smiling, but there was something scary about her tone. Elza could tell that she wasn’t happy and had some issue with them. She simply smiled with a nod. "Okay then. Eat first."
The two of them left as Zuna asked, "What’s wrong with her and her husbands? She sounded like she would kill them all or something."
Elza smiled as she said, "Well, I wouldn’t be too surprised if that happened." She shook her head. "Marriage couple issues—better stay away from it." She headed off.
They approached her husbands, who were sitting around the morning fire to warm up, and informed them about Sunnie’s request to meet them all.
"Mama is awake. I want to go see Mama," Maren requested, but Zuna carried her off her feet as she explained, "Mama is tired now and only wants to see Papa. Later you can go and see Mama, okay."
Maren pouted, disappointed, as she stared at them.
Luka happily got up. "She’s awake?" There was surprise and relief on most of their faces.
"I think we should go and meet the female since she specifically demanded to see us," Eris smiled, standing up. "She must have been dying to see us all this while."
He cleared his throat as he left. The others followed behind. Karl didn’t want to go, but Luka pulled him along against his will. Soon they were all off into the cave.
Zuna and Elza stared at them with a smile as they shook their heads. It was as if they knew what was coming for them.
---
As soon as they arrived with bright smiles, the first thing they met was Sunnie’s cold glare.
They paused as they watched her eyes. She was sitting there, casting murderous glares at them. They hesitated for a while as they stared at each other. Luka leaned over and asked Eris, "Is it just me, or are her eyes burning?"
Eris shrugged. "I think so too."
Luka walked up to Sunnie with a bright smile as he happily sat down beside her. "You’re finally awake. Do you know I’ve been worried all day? Huh? I thought something bad would happen to you or something. But I’m so happy that you’re fine now. This means that you’re safe and you..."
Sunnie glared at him. "Go and sit down there. Now." She instructed him sharply, like a teacher talking to a stubborn kid.
Immediately, his bear ears twitched. He blinked as he stared at Sunnie with a soft pout. But Sunnie wasn’t melting; she still had her firm expression as the bear slowly went to sit down opposite her like a puppy.
He guessed the female wasn’t happy at all.
Sunnie glared at all of them. "And what are you all waiting for? Sit down." She instructed, folding her arms.
Eris and Azure stared at each other and slowly sat down beside Luka, staring curiously at Sunnie.
She stared at Zayn and Karl. "And what are you waiting for?"
Zayn sat down behind them as Karl folded his arms. "I’m not going to do that," he said firmly, but Sunnie’s eyes were fiercer.
Sunnie stared at him in such a manner that it was certain she could potentially do anything at that moment. Immediately, Eris recalled the sharp memory of Sunnie cutting down trees and throwing them at will.
This instantly sent chills all over his body as he blinked and cleared his throat. "I guess I’ll sit down since my back is aching."
