Sunnie was confused as she stared at the scene before her. She could tell they were already making a mess of the food, and she was sure Elza could see that too.

"But why are they cooking though?" Sunnie asked Elza, who smiled with her arms folded.

"The boys are training in the woods ahead, so they volunteered to make something for them to eat this afternoon while they trained," she explained.

Sunnie slowly nodded. "Oh." She was aware of the training.

The men who had come to stay with them from the minor tribe had wanted to perfect their fighting skills. They had wanted to learn from the beast husbands, so they had requested that they train them.

The beast husbands had gathered them in a spot in the woods and proceeded with their training, teaching them how to fight and perfect their skills, training them to be future warriors of the tribes.

They had been training for a couple of days now. The beast husbands giving them core training skills to help them fight better in the future.

Sunnie figured it was something good. At least it was a way of training more men for their tribe—men to protect them from any upcoming dangers. They at least needed those warriors in their land.

She shook her head as she said, "Are you sure that’s going to be edible?"

Eris and Luka stared at what they were preparing. "Of course it’s going to be edible. I’m sure of what I’m making..." Luka said.

Eris blinked as he stared closely. "Well, even though it’s a bit burnt or so... I feel like it’s something they could eat. Maybe?"

"...."

Elza and Sunnie stared at each other and then at the meal.

"I’m certainly not eating that," Maren shook her head.

Sunnie smiled as they watched them prepare the food they were attempting to make. At that moment, Little Black had rushed into the scene.

He was panting, both hands on his knees while they stared at him.

"What’s wrong?" Sunnie turned to Little Black. "Why are you panting like that?"

Little Black had left with the twins and some other people. They had gone to keep the little ones company while they were playing.

"I... I..." Little Black was panting as he tried speaking. "The twins..."

Sunnie stared at them. She had a feeling that something had gone wrong as she demanded, "What happened? What’s wrong with the twins? What happened to them?" She looked ahead. "Where are they? Where are the rest?"

Sunnie was panicking as she stared at Little Black, who calmed down before he announced, "Lune... Lune went missing... And Luna... Luna cooked up some trouble with some wild little animals..." He announced.

"What?" Sunnie was shocked as she stared at him.

"What?!" Eris immediately got up to his feet, shocked. He left everything he was doing and immediately approached. "Where did you say they were at?"

"They were in the woods, the spot they usually are where they play. And we were keeping a close eye on them and all... then suddenly... Lune had gone missing and..."

Eris didn’t even wait for him to complete what he was saying. He instantly rushed off in the direction that Little Black was coming from.

"Let’s go," Sunnie demanded as well as they all left what they were doing and followed behind, going to check what had happened.

---

They arrived at the scene—the spot in the woods where the twins usually stayed and played as their playground.

As soon as they arrived, Eris began looking around. "Where are they? Where are my cubs?" He demanded as he stared at the people who were around there.

"Papa!" Luna called out as she rushed to hug Eris. Eris held her firmly as he bent down to check around her.

"What happened to you? Are you hurt anywhere? Did anything happen to you? Are you okay?" He asked, worried.

But Luna nodded with a smile as she said, "I am fine. But those little ones don’t seem fine at all."

Luna said as she pointed to the direction of the bushes ahead. They all turned and stared at little snakes crawling at the scene.

Sunnie panicked as they pulled backward. "Why are they here...?"

Luna happily said, "I borrowed an egg from them, and they’re suddenly looking so angry." She explained.

"...."

"..."

Eris and Sunnie were speechless as they turned and stared at little Luna. "You did what?" Sunnie asked as Luna showed her the egg in her hand.

"I only took one, and it seems they’re not happy. But they have many already, so why should they come after me for this one? They should share." Luna spoke so casually as everyone stared at her in immense shock.

"You... why would you take away their baby like that?" Maren asked. "Of course they’re going to be angry if someone snatches away their baby like that." She said.

"..." Luna blinked as she stared at Maren. "What does that mean?"

Maren sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. "You’re always causing trouble. This is not how I told you to behave. You should be all gentle and calm."

"..." Luna blinked again as she said, "Maybe I can go there and beat them up. Then maybe they’ll not be angry again." She suggested as they stared at her in disbelief.

"Oh dear..." Sunnie shook her head as she said, "Hand me that egg."

"But I..."

"Hand it over now." Sunnie demanded as Luna pouted and handed it to her.

As soon as Sunnie took the egg, the snakes hissed as they moved on alert, watching them from a distance. It was clear that they would attack anytime soon if they had the opportunity.

But Eris came to stand before Sunnie and Luna to protect them.

"We have to hand them their egg," Sunnie said. "I think if we do that, it will settle it."

Eris turned to her. "Hand it to me. I’ll hand it over." He assured as he took the egg from Sunnie and turned back to the snakes.
