Chapter 173: Working A Bit Too Hard
Karl struggled to concentrate and learn while Sunnie was close to him. When she finally stepped aside, he managed to do it right. He was able to plant on his own.
Sunnie clapped happily. "Great! Now for your reward!"
"No. I don’t need any of that," he said, arms folded, keeping a cold expression.
Sunnie raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure about that? Or are you trying to act cool because the tiger did it?"
Eris smiled. "He’s always following the grumpy tiger."
"Shut up," Karl snapped at him. "I’m not copying anyone. I don’t need any of your rewards."
Sunnie slowly nodded. "Okay, okay... I’ll leave you, then."
Karl cleared his throat as he turned away. Sunnie smiled in his direction as she said, "Oh? What is that hideous mark on your face?"
She said it in a shocking tone that made Karl instantly panic. He ran his hands over his cheeks, panicking. "What mark? What?"
Sunnie approached him. "Bend down. I’ll check it for you."
Karl was scared of what it could possibly be, so he instantly bent down for Sunnie to check and possibly remove it. But immediately, she pressed her lips against his cheek—a soft kiss lingering on Karl’s cheek as she said, "I’ve removed it. You can go now." She smiled.
Karl stood there in the same position. For seconds, he didn’t move at all. He blinked, staring into thin air.
Even though Sunnie had removed her lips, he could still feel the kiss lingering. His heart was fluttering so fast that he was scared he might lose it. He placed a hand over his chest, wondering what was wrong with him.
Sunnie smiled. "Reward granted."
Karl paused for a long moment before turning to stare at her. "You... stay away from me." He left for another spot to work.
[Ding!]
[Host! You’re successfully moving the eagle husband’s heart!]
[Keep it up, and you might win him over.]
Sunnie smiled. Just as she thought, physical affection worked.
[Ding]
[Congratulations, Host! You’ve successfully taught and engaged your husbands in the farming process!]
[Reward granted: + 5,000 heart coins!]

They weren’t done planting everything that day, so they retired for the evening.
The next morning, everyone woke up to prepare for the farm, and they didn’t see Sunnie anywhere at first.
Everyone was worried. They wondered where she could have run off to.
But Elza and Zuna, who had gotten up early to prepare breakfast, assured them that she was fine.
"She went off to the farm this morning," Zuna explained.
Her husbands stared at each other, confused. "Huh? How’s that possible?" Luka asked.
"How can she go alone? It’s not safe," Azure insisted.
The two ladies shrugged and said, "Well, she didn’t go alone. She went with the wolf," Zuna explained.
"And we tried telling her to wait for you guys to join her, but she didn’t seem willing to wait. According to her, she had to keep herself busy or something."
They stared at each other and blinked. "Huh? The wolf... Is she safe?" Eris asked.
Azure and Luka panicked at the moment.
"Her going alone isn’t safe at all. I think we should go look for her," Luka said, and they all agreed.
Azure carried Maren in his arms as the husbands took off to look for her in the farmland. The chipmunks, Little Black, and Zukka followed them.
---
Soon, they arrived at the scene. The day had already broken by the time they got there, so they could see clearly. They were shocked at what they saw.
The spaces they hadn’t planted on were already covered. Someone had been working all morning, planting most of the crops—the field was almost completely planted.
They all stood there, staring in immense shock.
"I think that’s Mama," Maren blinked, staring at the scene ahead.
Little Black nodded. "Yeah, she’s the one." They stared at Sunnie, who was working hard without stopping on the farmland. She was effortlessly moving from one spot to another, digging, planting crops, and watering them all at once without slowing down.
From what she had covered, it was clear that she had been working since early morning. But she didn’t look tired or exhausted at all.
"Do you think she’s okay?" the leader of the chipmunks asked as they all shrugged, staring.
They looked at the wolf, who was sitting in a corner, licking its fur while Sunnie worked. The loyal wolf had accompanied her there and was keeping guard while she worked.
"Hey!" Luka called out to Sunnie.
Sunnie stopped and turned to look at them. She smiled as she caught sight of them. "Oh, there you are! Welcome!"
"How long have you been working?" Azure asked.
Sunnie hesitated, looking around. She didn’t even know when it had gotten so bright. "Eh, I don’t know," she smiled. "For hours, I guess."
"...." They stared at each other as Luka said, "I think you should take a break. No need to work so hard. We’ll do it."
But Sunnie smiled, shaking her head. "No need for that at all. I’m still feeling so energized, so I’ll continue working. Don’t worry about me at all." She smiled and continued.
They watched her work for a while longer, shocked at how swift she was without even breaking a sweat.
They couldn’t help but wonder what she had eaten to give her such strength.
But at that moment, Little Black noticed a pattern. "Wait, do you all remember the last time she was like this?"
They stared at her as he continued, "When she was cutting down trees and throwing stuff like they were nothing..."
Immediately, it hit everyone. It was a moment of realization as they slowly turned and stared at Sunnie, who was working. At that moment, they realized what was happening.
"She’s pregnant," Azure said, blinking in realization while staring in Sunnie’s direction, jaws almost dropping.
"Who’s the father?!" that was the first thing that burst out of Little Black’s mouth with his eyes wide in shock.
