Azure gently placed the egg on the animal skin as they all stared at it. The soup was sitting before it. They all sat around the egg to make sure it wouldn’t randomly run away again.

"So... How does it drink it?" Little Black asked, blinking.

There was silence as they stared at the soup and then at the egg sitting before it.

"Maybe break it open and pour it in?" Luka suggested as they all glared at him with cold stares.

He knew what he had said again as he closed his mouth and zipped it. "I won’t speak again, I promise."

They couldn’t help but wonder how he kept getting worse.

They stayed like that for minutes, but nothing happened. They couldn’t even bring themselves to think about how the egg could possibly drink from this.

"Maybe take it closer?" Eris asked.

They pushed the soup closer for its aroma to reach the egg. But the egg didn’t even move at all.

"Maybe sprinkle a bit over the egg?" Little Black asked.

They thought for a while before they decided to try it. Zuna took the spoon from the soup, scooped a bit, and then moved the soup in the spoon close to the egg. She touched the soup at the edge of the egg and waited for something to happen. Everyone stared. In seconds, nothing happened. And soon, the egg moved backwards.

But it fell back into Azure’s hands.

Everyone blinked. "Well, I guess it doesn’t like it," Little Black concluded.

They didn’t know how to feed the egg, so they figured that maybe it didn’t need anything at this stage. So they all ate their meal and kept it safe with Azure.

Sunnie was still unconscious and asleep, under the care of Elza.

While they went to sleep for the night, Azure held onto the egg carefully as he lay down. He covered it with animal skin to at least give it some warmth. He wasn’t sure how to take care of it; he wasn’t sure he had received such care before. But he tried based on his intuition.

He stayed up late, holding onto the egg and making sure it was in good condition. For some reason, he didn’t wish to fall asleep. He couldn’t even fall asleep with the egg in his arms.

He felt restless and uneasy—probably the feeling of a father who had just had a child.

But later on, he fell asleep for only a few minutes. And when he opened his eyes, the egg was gone.

"Ah!" Azure let out a loud cry as everyone around him woke up, except Sunnie.

"What happened?" Luka asked, rubbing his eyes. They were all still sleepy.

Azure panicked as he got up to his feet. "The egg... It ran away!"

"Huh? Again?" Eris opened his eyes.

Azure rushed out to look for the egg. Eris and Luka soon followed behind. Karl and Zayn woke up, yawned, and stared at each other.

"What now?" Karl asked.

"The egg ran off again," Zayn yawned.

Karl wanted to go back to sleep. But then he found himself getting up to his feet. "What a hassle. Maybe this will make me even with the female."

Karl left to also look for the egg.

The egg was running around the environment that early morning, bouncing and moving fast. Everyone had woken up from their huts, all going after it.

The egg vibrated as it moved, running as fast as possible, making catching it impossible. And like that, they spent almost the whole night chasing the egg.

They finally caught it early that morning before everyone could fall asleep, with Azure holding firmly onto it.

The next three days weren’t fun for any of them at all, especially since Sunnie was unconscious and asleep throughout. The egg had indeed become a source of headache for them all.

It constantly broke free from Azure’s grip and ran off into the distance. This led most of them to go after it, trying to catch it.

One minute, everyone was sitting down and preparing for breakfast; the next, they were running after a bouncy egg heading towards the stream.

It was indeed a lot of stress. And they had been through that for three days, their night sleeps cut short by the constant chasing.

"It’s only been a few days... and that egg is already torturing us..." Luka lay on the ground, exhausted. "What is it going to hatch into?"

Eris sighed. "Azure, can’t you hatch it?"

Azure stared at them. "Only the mother can."

Eris and Luka cried out, "Then she should please wake up already!"

When Sunnie woke up, everyone was overjoyed. They couldn’t tell if it was because she was safe now or because she would best handle their little egg.

But either way, everyone was excited.

Elza, who was taking care of Sunnie that morning, noticed her body moving and smiled. "She’s awake!"

She announced as everyone rushed into the room where Sunnie was.

Sunnie had just opened her eyes only to see a crowd gathered above her, staring down into her eyes as if she had just miraculously woken up from death.

Sunnie hesitated as she rubbed her hands against her eyes, trying to sit up. "What happened...?"

"A lot," Little Black wanted to start narrating how her egg had been terrorizing everyone for the past few days, but Zukka covered his mouth almost immediately.

Elza smiled. "You successfully gave birth to your first little one."

Sunnie paused. She could feel a sense of excitement and accomplishment building up within her as she heard the news.

She smiled as she let out a soft sigh. "That’s good... that’s good... Can I see it?"

She was excited to see what it looked like. And at that moment, everyone turned to Azure, who was supposedly carrying the egg in to meet Sunnie.

But he was nowhere to be seen, neither was the egg.

Luka blinked. "It ran away again."
