Chapter 196: Got company
The tribe leader of the hyenas laughed as he asked, "Predictable? Is that so? Well, I guess your words won’t determine much. Rather, how long you can hold up before you’re completely destroyed by us will say that." He smiled.
But Sunnie smiled as she said, "Are you even sure about that? Or is it going to be the other way around like last time?" Sunnie asked as she clenched her fist, eyes cold and murderous as she glared at them.
The hunter stepped backward with some of the hyenas there while they stared at Sunnie. "Careful, tribe leader, she is powerful..." one said.
But the tribe leader scoffed. "Powerful my foot! What can a woman possibly do to me? I’m going to crush her before anything else!" He snapped confidently.
"Well then, you’ll have to come at us first," Karl said with his cold eyes resting on them. Sunnie’s husbands came to stand around Sunnie, giving her protection while they stared at the hyenas.
The leader laughed as he said, "We don’t want stress, honestly. And we don’t even have time to beat you all up. What we need is pretty simple." He smiled as he looked around, clearing his throat.
The tribe leader said, "We see you have a lot of land and harvest. And we also noticed that you seem to have a lot to eat—after stealing ours." He glared at them as he said, "So just give us everything. Give us all you have in this land. Every single thing you have in your storage as well. Let us have it, and then we’ll leave you. We’ll leave without harming anyone at all." He smiled. "So? What do you say?"
Sunnie smiled, folding her arms. "You’re joking, right?"
"I don’t joke," the leader said. "And I’m being dead serious. So hand over everything you have right now—all the food—and we might consider leaving you and your pathetic group."
But Sunnie raised an eyebrow, glaring at him. "No. We’re not doing any of that. So you better take your dumb gangs and leave here before you regret it."
The tribe leader burst out into laughter. Everyone joined in the laughter as well. At the end, the leader glared at her, saying, "You pathetic beings came and killed our crops and all. You did it to us! You left us suffering and striving extra hard to get what to eat. And now you’re here refusing to hand over what you stole?"
Sunnie shrugged. "Well, that is life. Nothing can be done."
"...."
The hyenas were pissed, especially the leader. He cast a cold glare at Sunnie as he raised his chin. "I’ll give you one last chance. Hand over all you have now, and we’ll consider letting you go. You can’t defeat us even if you tried. We’ve taken our time studying the area, so we know how to take you all down! So hand it over now!"
He demanded, but Sunnie smiled as she said, "Do you know who else has studied the area? Our dear friends. So try, and let’s see who has studied the area more."
They didn’t understand what she meant and didn’t seem to want to. The leader got pissed and said, "You leave me with no choice." He raised his hand. "Take them all down now!"
He ordered as all the hyenas surrounding them from each side got up in preparation to attack at once. But immediately, some of them began falling.
"Ouch!"
"Ah!"
"Ah!"
"That hurts!"
The leader and some people around heard cries from a distance from people hiding in the bush. Shocked, they looked around to see their men falling down and immediately crawling around in pain. Some went unconscious.
At first, they didn’t understand what was happening. But immediately, they saw huge snakes crawling out of the bushes. These weren’t normal snakes at all—they were monster snakes.
"Monsters!" One cried as they stepped backward at the sight of the snakes attacking their men from the bushes.
And as though that wasn’t enough, a huge pack of black wolves emerged from the bushes and attacked another set of hyenas.
"Ah! What are these monsters?!" They cried as they tried fighting against them. But to no avail, because the wolves beat them up and threw them off. Some tore them to death, creating a brutal scene.
The hyenas were backing off when huge, deadly monster leopards, foxes, tigers, and the like emerged from the bushes and attacked.
Different beasts all attacked, taking down these hyenas. Before long, it was a chaotic atmosphere.
"Run!"
"What are these monsters?!"
"How is this possible?! They’re coming after us!"
"Ah! My hands! My hands!"
"Stay away from me! Help!"
They all ran for their lives. No one dared look back or even try to stop and fight back. Everyone began running for their dear lives.
Even the hunter panicked and began stepping backward. "Let’s leave here... let’s go! It’s dangerous!"
The tribe leader didn’t want to leave. "You coward! Let’s stay and fight these monsters!" He wanted to attack a leopard, but the leopard pounced on him.
It dragged the leader by the leg and pulled him hard until his legs were bleeding with scars.
The hunter panicked and immediately ran off. He didn’t even look back while he and his men were running for their lives.
"Come back! Save me!" The leader cried hard, but to no avail. No one came for him at all. His men had abandoned him and ran for their lives, leaving the area while the beasts kept chasing some and tearing them down.
Some were taken down for good, while others ran off with injuries, bleeding. Their leader, whom they had left there, soon died in the hands of the brutal leopard, which didn’t seem to care about the life before it.
And just like that, the chaotic scene soon began coming to an end, with the beasts taking down the hyenas and sending a huge number of them running.
