Chapter 76: Adrian Kane’s Entanglement

As for the homeroom teacher, the school decided on a punishment: she was fired and blacklisted, meaning she could never work in the education sector again.
Class 6 of the senior year immediately welcomed a new homeroom teacher. Jordan Walton directly appointed the English teacher to the position.
After all, the English teacher had been teaching them since their first year of high school.
"Hello, students. I’m your new homeroom teacher. You can call me Mr. Parker. Of course, just Parker is fine too!"
The students all laughed at his last sentence.
"My rules are simple. You can all say whatever you want, but you have to wait until I’m finished speaking. Also, you have about two months until the college entrance exams. If you have a problem in any subject and the subject teacher isn’t available, you can come to me. I know it all. After all, I’m the omnipotent teacher. There’s nothing I can’t do."
The students’ laughter didn’t stop as Mr. Parker spoke. It was clear he had a great personality.
Chloe York didn’t really have an opinion on what the new homeroom teacher was like. With the system’s help, she could solve most of the problems on her own anyway.
Even though Evan Shaw had offered to help her last time, in the end, it turned into her tutoring him.
"Congratulations, Chloe! You won the bet." Evan Shaw had sought out Chloe York specifically to congratulate her.
This wasn’t actually a chance encounter. Evan Shaw had deliberately sought her out, since they hadn’t run into each other in the cafeteria recently.
He later found out that Chloe York had been getting her lunch to-go and eating at her rented apartment, so he had no choice but to come find her himself.
"Thanks!"
The conversation between them seemed to die down instantly, leaving them with nothing to say.
"What schools are you thinking of applying to?" Evan Shaw asked, finding a new topic.
"It’ll depend on my scores, but for my first and second choices, I’m definitely picking the best universities."
Evan Shaw nodded. In the past, Chloe York’s grades wouldn’t have given her this luxury, let alone making her top choices the best universities. But the current Chloe York absolutely had to, and indeed should, aim for the best. If she just kept working hard, it was entirely possible.
"Well, I hope you get what you wish for!"
Chloe York nodded. "Yeah, I hope you do too! May your dreams come true!" She knew Evan Shaw’s dream had always been to get into a good university.
They said nothing more and went their separate ways. After all, they were still in their senior year; it seemed too early to talk about anything serious.
"Look at what your precious daughter has done." Miles York flew into a rage at Alice Cole as soon as he got home and learned what had happened at school.
Alice Cole had already received a message from the homeroom teacher and was, at first, also quite shocked that Brooke York would do such a thing.
But she quickly composed herself and sent a message back, chewing out the homeroom teacher. No matter how poorly her daughter behaved, it was her place to discipline her, not some homeroom teacher.

Alice Cole’s expression changed. She hadn’t expected it to affect the company, let alone so severely.
"Honey, how could this happen?"
"How could this happen? Why are you so slow on the uptake? When Chloe saved someone, it brought benefits to the company. Did you really think Brooke York doing something terrible and going viral wouldn’t affect us?" Miles York’s way of referring to Chloe York and Brooke York had changed. He was warmer and more affectionate toward Chloe, while he spoke of Brooke York as if she were a stranger.
"Then, honey, what do we do now? No matter what, Brooke is our biological daughter!"
"What do we do? From now on, you discipline Brooke York properly and make her stop pulling these petty tricks."
"Okay, fine. I’ll discipline her," Alice Cole promised.
Miles York didn’t stay home. He grabbed his jacket and left.
"Where are you going?" Alice Cole asked, seeing Miles York about to leave.
"I’m going to the office. There’s a mountain of things to deal with. Don’t wait up for me tonight." With that, Miles York was gone.
Alice Cole collapsed onto the sofa. Though she had tried to persuade Miles York, she herself was also shocked by Brooke York’s actions. ’My daughter... how could she be so malicious?’
Seeing Adrian Kane again, Chloe York didn’t even try to look pleasant. She was truly beginning to regret saving him more and more.
