Chapter 1254: Don’t Waste My Time Finding My Man
Aurelia Shaw had driven a long distance, and the surrounding environment grew increasingly remote and quiet, with no trace of human habitation. The smell of lingering gunpowder wafted through the air, still detectable despite the passage of time.
It was evident what kind of fierce battle had occurred here.
Aurelia remained silent, her gaze fixed intently ahead. As she thought of Mason Nightshade facing calamity here, a sudden dull ache in her heart nearly suffocated her.
Suddenly, a car came barreling out, blocking her vehicle.
Aurelia was surrounded by people getting out of the car before she could react. Seeing the person leading them, Aurelia was momentarily stunned, realizing instantly who they were.
He got out of the car.
Rocco Cooper naturally greeted Aurelia politely, he sighed upon seeing her, "Ah, sister-in-law, why do you insist on investigating this matter?"
"If the life and death of the person you love was unknown, and none of his friends told you his whereabouts, wouldn’t you be anxious? Wouldn’t you investigate yourself?" Aurelia said in a deep voice, her words showing neither difficulty nor capriciousness.
Rocco was momentarily at a loss, imagining his own spouse facing calamity while no one told him, claiming it’s for his own good, yet refusing to let him see her... To be honest, Rocco truly couldn’t stomach it.
Perhaps he isn’t as rational as Aurelia.
Thinking of this, Rocco once again looked at Aurelia in a new light.
Aurelia bypassed Rocco and walked to the car behind him, getting in, seeing Rocco staring blankly at her, she raised an eyebrow, "Not leaving?"
"Huh? Leaving? Leaving for where?" Rocco was slow to gather his thoughts.
Aurelia calmly said, "You stopped me here. Are you planning to confine me?"
"I wouldn’t dare!" Rocco scratched his head.
"Then why aren’t we leaving?" Aurelia said, "Didn’t Adrian Cooper instruct you to detain me here? Don’t waste time, get in the car, and don’t delay me in finding my man."
"Ah, ah... Let’s go, drive, drive." Rocco feigned ignorance, his back damp with cold sweat, not just because Aurelia easily guessed the president’s intentions, but also because she dared to call the president by name.
Rocco used eye signals to warn the people in the car not to speak indiscriminately outside. In front of Aurelia, he was as docile as a puppy, but in front of others, he possessed a kind of silent authority.
...
Inside the base.
Mason Nightshade sat in a chair, his upper body bare, his sexy muscular lines extending to his abdomen. Junia Simpson furrowed her brow while applying medicine to him, her attention not on his sexy muscle lines, but rather she was fretting over his wounds.
"Brother Nightshade, during this period you must give up smoking, drinking, spicy food, and seafood..."
"Alright, alright, just give the list of what I can eat to the kitchen, instructing them is better than instructing me." Mason interrupted Junia.
Junia’s brow furrowed even more tightly, she knew this, but "you still need to cooperate!"
The two seemed like they would start to argue again when Grayson Quinn smoothly intervened, "Why so serious? Junia, are you nervous staring too much at Nightshade’s bare body, looking for something to distract yourself?"
Everyone in the unit knew that Mason was an extremely non-compliant patient; even injured he would fight desperately on the battlefield. Never mind the need to watch his diet, when pressed for time, he’d eat anything given to him, all the quirks and pickiness nurtured in aristocracy vanished when on assignment.
