Chapter 1260: The Person I Least Want to Meet
Aurelia Shaw burrowed her head into the blanket, not wanting to listen; she wanted to sleep.
Mason Nightshade saw this and fell silent.
He gently patted her back with indulgence, his movements soft.
His voice softer, "I won’t say anymore, sleep now, be good."
...
Last night, Aurelia Shaw dreamed Mason Nightshade had returned and embraced her, kissed her, but when she woke the next day, he was no longer in the room.
She asked the servants and only then found out that he had left early in the morning again.
"Why is he so busy?" Aurelia Shaw muttered to herself.
The servants showed a panicked expression and immediately bowed their heads, "The President must have matters to discuss with Major General Nightshade, all top-secret, even we servants don’t know."
Aurelia Shaw was startled, the servants’ reaction was too dramatic, their attitude towards her was too formal, making her somewhat uncomfortable.
With a light laugh, she curled her lips and said, "I understand. I was just saying it casually; you don’t need to pay attention to it, and also, no need to be so courteous to me in the future."
"Yes." The servants’ heads remained bowed low.
Seeing that they didn’t listen, Aurelia Shaw simply ignored them and planned to find Ava Thompson; she had something to ask Ava.
"Henry..."
Aurelia Shaw heard a very soft call, initially didn’t intend to respond, but somehow, she walked toward the direction of the sound.
Henry?
Could it be that person she thought?
Behind the tree, Aurelia Shaw saw a man leaving afar, just his silhouette gave a sense of being in a freezing land; he didn’t have the clear, clean aura of Mount Paektu, didn’t possess the aloofness of a white crane; his coldness came from the dead silence of Hell, even his black tousled hair, the black gloves that wrapped around his slender fingers, and the gun at his waist all carried an aura of impending death.
He seemed to sense the intense gaze from behind, suddenly halted his steps and looked back.
Aurelia Shaw quickly hid, slightly lowered her eyes, concealing her somewhat reddened eyes, with her red lips pressed into a thin, cool line.
...
Because of this sudden small incident, Aurelia Shaw didn’t go to find Ava Thompson; with her current mood, it wasn’t appropriate to ask Ava those things.
"What are you thinking about? Not watching the road, be careful not to stumble." A gentle voice sounded.
Aurelia Shaw lifted her head, unsurprised to see Lennox Quinn, showing a faint smile as if the encounter was just a momentary illusion of Lennox’s, "Master Quinn, what a coincidence, not attending the meeting with the President?"
"I’m not as important as Mason Nightshade; not as many meetings need to be attended." Lennox Quinn said with a smile.
Aurelia Shaw understood from his words that there wasn’t an ounce of sarcasm, he genuinely believed this.
The eldest son of the Quinn Family indeed was a principled person like this.
Aurelia Shaw also thought of Grayson Quinn...
What kind of parents can educate two brothers with completely opposing personalities?
Look how polite and cultured Master Quinn is, compared to Grayson... to put it in more relatable terms, he’s like a self-liberated husky.
"I see." Aurelia Shaw nodded.
She wasn’t familiar with Lennox Quinn, had nothing to say, nor did she have the habit of forcing conversation.
"I saw you were absent-minded just now..."
Aurelia Shaw didn’t expect Lennox Quinn would take the initiative to ask; she thought Lennox was perceptive enough not to pry if he sensed someone didn’t want to talk.
These were the accumulated mistaken impressions from past rumors she had heard.
"I just ran into someone over there." Aurelia Shaw didn’t hide it, but didn’t fully disclose either.
The type of person Lennox Quinn was—gentle on the surface, but actually shrewd.
He could tell if someone was lying.
"Are you talking about Henry Fletcher?" Lennox Quinn asked, "He also came to the presidential estate today, just left the President’s place, I guess the person you saw was him."
