"Mr. Fairchild, if anyone’s going home, it should be you. You should go back to your own house. This is my and Mom’s house," Ian Monroe said, refusing to compromise.

"You’ll be late for school tomorrow morning," Evan Fairchild changed tactics.

"I can just wake up earlier."

Evan Fairchild’s head started to ache. ’It looks like I’ll really have to consider boarding school. I’m serious this time.’

He didn’t know what other families were like, but his own childhood certainly hadn’t been like Ian’s.

’His whole family had revolved around him, and it was unbelievably annoying!’

Ian Monroe was also worried that Mr. Fairchild would get genuinely angry and send him away before his mom got back, preventing them from meeting.

"Mr. Fairchild, how about this? I’ll stay tonight, and I’ll go back tomorrow night. Once Mom is back, we can take turns, one day each."

Evan Fairchild thought for a moment, then nodded. "Tonight, you sleep by yourself. No clinging to your mother."

"Fine. Deal," Ian Monroe said, climbing into the car.

Evan Fairchild was speechless.

’He’s just a little kid, and he’s already daring to bargain with me.’

Evan Fairchild sat in the driver’s seat. "How are your classes going? Are you able to communicate with your teacher properly?"

"I can," Ian Monroe said with a nod. He then suddenly asked Evan Fairchild, "Mr. Fairchild, what’s the date today?"

"It’s the second. Why?"

"Did you forget to give me my allowance?"

"You haven’t been using your allowance. If you don’t spend it, why should I give it to you?"

"It’s your job to give it to me, and it’s my choice whether I spend it. The two things don’t conflict."

"I can just not give it to you."

"You’re an adult. Going back on your word is bad for your image."

"I’m your father. I couldn’t care less about my ’image’."

Ian Monroe was speechless.

’What a scoundrel, this Mr. Fairchild.’

’When I grow up, I’ll make my own money and give it all to Mom. I won’t take a single penny from him!’

The two of them went upstairs, where Evan Fairchild took out a key and opened the door.

"Why do you have a key?"

"Your mom gave it to me." Evan Fairchild looked at his son’s reaction, feeling very smug.

Ian Monroe rolled his eyes, turned, and walked inside, dropping his schoolbag next to the sofa.

On her way back, Melody Monroe received a call from Director Wallace.

He wanted her to set aside two days after she finished filming her current commercial to shoot her final scenes for the series.

She learned that the two leads, Zane Langdon and Raymond Ford, had also wrapped their scenes. The show was officially entering post-production and would be released to audiences soon.

This was her first role, and she still felt a bit apprehensive.

She opened Weibo and saw that Zane Langdon had posted about wrapping up filming, so she immediately liked it. She considered leaving a comment, but after a moment’s thought, she couldn’t figure out what to say and decided not to.

She scrolled down a bit further and came across a fan’s comment.

"Does Raymond Ford have to be so nauseating? Riding Zane’s coattails again."

"Zane doesn’t even follow her, but she still manually tags him. The nerve."

"She tagged him, and Zane didn’t even respond."

Melody Monroe grew curious and clicked the link the fan had shared.

It was Raymond Ford’s Weibo page. She had over eight million followers.

The pinned post was from the day filming wrapped. In it, Raymond Ford had posted a photo of herself standing next to Zane Langdon, holding a large bouquet of red roses, seemingly implying that the flowers were a gift from him.

Melody Monroe scrolled through the comments.

"Stop fantasizing. Zane didn’t give her those flowers."

"I’m so done with Raymond Ford. I used to think she was alright, but now she’s trying to force a ship? Unfollowed!"

"I’m unfollowing and becoming an anti-fan. Raymond Ford is just disgusting!"
