"I... I... Julian Hale..."

"CUT!" Director Wallace shouted.

The take was no good. Raymond Ford hadn’t even gotten his lines out completely.

A staff member immediately rushed forward to hold umbrellas for the two actors.

Leah Young quickly handed a towel to Raymond Ford.

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry! The rain is too heavy, and it’s so cold. My mind went completely blank!" Raymond Ford explained hurriedly.

"It’s fine, we get it, we get it."

"Raymond, it’s okay, you can do it! You can do it!"

"Here, let’s fix your hair first."

The crew immediately tried to console him.

"Raymond, here, drink some ginger tea to warm up," Leah Young said, picking up a thermos.

Raymond Ford took it and drank a mouthful of the hot ginger tea, instantly feeling a bit warmer.

Zane Langdon had a bath towel draped over his shoulders as a stylist fixed his hair.

"We rehearsed this scene together today. Didn’t you memorize your lines?" Zane Langdon asked.

The question extinguished the warmth that had just started to spread through Raymond Ford’s body, and a chill washed over him again.

"Raymond, this is a rain scene. Did you not memorize your lines because you want to get soaked a few more times?" Zane Langdon asked again.

The people standing by didn’t dare to breathe a word.

This was when you could tell if someone was genuinely hardworking or just faking it.

Memorizing your lines is the bare minimum!

No wonder Zane Langdon was angry. He had personally rehearsed the scene with him, and this was the result! That was why Zane was being so blunt with his questioning, showing him no courtesy.

Director Wallace watched this unfold and sighed. "Raymond Ford, go over your lines again."

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I did memorize them, I was just a little out of it," Raymond Ford quickly explained.

The camera operators and other crew members also had to stand in the rain. If he kept messing up, everyone would have to suffer along with him.

Raymond Ford quickly took the script, trying to memorize the lines as fast as he could.

But sometimes, the more you rush, the more things go wrong. His mind felt like a complete muddle.

The rain grew heavier, and puddles began to form on the ground, the water rising over their shoes. Raymond Ford had hoped to rely on the teleprompter to bluff his way through, but he couldn’t make out the words on the board at all.

"Director, it’s pouring now. Should we wait a bit before we resume filming?" the assistant director asked Director Wallace.

"This downpour is perfect for the scene. We’d be using a rain machine anyway!"

"Alright, all departments, get ready!"

Raymond Ford walked back into the rain.

"CUT!" Director Wallace yelled immediately. Raymond Ford’s whole vibe was off.

A bad take right from his entrance. Raymond Ford was utterly dejected.

"Raymond, right now you’re acting like a random background character!"

"I’m sorry, Director. I’m sorry, everyone," Raymond Ford immediately apologized.

"It’s fine, we’ll just go again," the cameraman said comfortingly.

"Raymond, pay attention to the tension in your performance! Your inner turmoil has to come through in your expression," Director Wallace said, walking over to give Raymond Ford notes on the scene again.

"I understand, Director."

"Alright, places!" Director Wallace moved to the side. "Action!"

Raymond Ford walked through the downpour, but the rain beat down so hard he could barely open his eyes. When he did, the water would stream into them, stinging uncomfortably.

"CUT!" Director Wallace shouted again.

Raymond Ford felt like he could just die!

’Who could possibly film well in a downpour this heavy?!’

’Are they really going to make an actor stand in the freezing rain indefinitely?’

’What actor still works this desperately hard nowadays?!’

Zane Langdon was just standing there in the rain when Nola Hughes quickly ran over with an umbrella.

"Zane, here, wipe your face."

Zane Langdon walked directly over to Director Wallace. "Shoot the next scene first. We can deal with Raymond Ford’s part in post-production."

"Alright." Director Wallace nodded. "Get Melody Monroe ready."
