Chapter 181: This Girl Is Going to Have Good Luck
Raymond Ford arrived on set and was slightly taken aback to see everyone eating cake.
"Whose birthday is it today?"
"I don’t know. How come no one told us?" Leah Young looked just as clueless.
She didn’t even dare to look at Raymond Ford’s face.
Ever since the incident with Melody Monroe’s allergies, Raymond Ford’s reputation with the crew hadn’t been great. And this time, no one had even told him.
A crew member cutting the cake spotted Raymond Ford and asked politely, "Raymond, you’re here. It’s Tiana Gable’s birthday today, and her scenes just wrapped. We’re all celebrating with her. Would you like a piece of cake?"
"No, thanks," Raymond Ford refused flatly.
Ever since his falling out with Melody Monroe, his position on set had been awkward. He’d stopped trying to maintain his public persona as well.
What’s more, Melody Monroe’s acting ran circles around his, which led the crew members working with him to complain from time to time.
Melody Monroe’s reputation, on the other hand, had gradually improved.
"Has anyone else noticed? Raymond Ford seems like a completely different person."
"This must be his true colors, right?"
"So two-faced. Isn’t that exhausting?"
"Did no one invite him?"
"Who would? Tiana Gable didn’t invite him herself, so why should we get involved?"
"Sigh, I used to really like Raymond Ford, but now... It’s hard to put into words."
Raymond Ford hadn’t gone far. Hearing their discussion, he secretly clenched his fists. ’It was clearly Melody Monroe who framed me, and she still won’t let me be!’
’But I have no proof. I’m the only one who feels this.’
’When it comes to playing dirty, Melody Monroe is the real master!’
When he got to the dressing room, only he and Leah Young were inside. Everyone else was still outside eating cake. He dropped his bag on the vanity and took out his phone.
There were no new messages on his phone.
After the incident with Claire Ross, everyone—whether they knew him well or not—had been busy distancing themselves, terrified of getting dragged into it.
’Isn’t that just how this industry works?’
"Any news from Director Scott?" he asked Leah Young, who was standing behind him.
"Not yet." Leah Young shook her head.
"How big of a deal can a little online drama be? Is this the extent of Rose Shaw’s PR skills?! She’s clearly trying to ruin me! Do you have any idea how high the endorsement fee from Bloomwell is? If this keeps up, I won’t even be able to pay off my credit cards!"
"Raymond, try not to get too worked up. Maybe we’ll get some news soon."
"Rose Shaw isn’t even fighting for it! If she actually tried, I refuse to believe that with my current level of fame, I couldn’t land a single endorsement deal!"
"Raymond, don’t worry. Didn’t we just hear that Bloomwell hasn’t confirmed their brand ambassador yet? And anyway, Aya Winters definitely isn’t renewing her contract."
"Of course. Aya Winters is the darling of international luxury brands now! And even though she has her own company, her contract with Stellaris is still active. Something like this can’t just be snatched away by someone else! If an artist from Starfall Corporation got it, it would be embarrassing for Aya Winters."
"Exactly."
"Look at everyone in Stellaris right now—from semi-famous people like me down to the newcomers—is there anyone more suitable? And Rose Shaw couldn’t close the deal? Some ’gold-medal agent.’ Isn’t she afraid of becoming a laughingstock?"
"Then let’s just wait a bit longer," Leah Young said, not knowing what else to say.
"I’m telling you, Rose Shaw has lost her touch! Look at the endorsements she gets for Melody Monroe. What are they, a bunch of knockoff brands? It’s hilarious!"
