Chapter 172: Sabotaging the Kid Without Mercy
The profile picture might not have been a photo of the person themselves. The username was a simple English name: kaen.
Melody Monroe followed the account.
She immediately received a private message.
It was from the very same kaen.
"Hello, Melody! I’m a huge fan of yours!"
"Thank you so much for your love and support."
"Oh my God! Is this really you? Are you really Melody?"
"Yes."
"This is amazing! You actually replied to me! I’m ecstatic! I started a fan club without your permission... You’re not mad, are you?"
"Of course I’m not mad. In fact, I should be the one formally thanking you."
"Then I’ll be the president of this fan club!"
Melody Monroe thought for a moment before replying, "Of course you can."
’She had so few fans that even with a fan club, only a handful of people would be active. It was rare to find someone who was this passionate. How could she possibly discourage them or betray such deep affection?’
’She didn’t plan on telling Rose Shaw about this, either.’
The other person sent another message: "Thank you for your trust! I’ll do a great job!"
Melody Monroe couldn’t help but laugh at their earnestness.
She then sent her phone number and WeChat ID over. "This is my contact information. If anything comes up, you can reach me here."
"Okay!" Holding his phone, Keith Coleman froze for a second. ’She trusts me this much? She actually sent me her private contact information.’
’His impression of Melody Monroe improved a little.’
’It had been a long time since he’d experienced such sincerity and simple trust.’
Keith Coleman quickly saved the phone number and added her on WeChat.
’Excellent! I’ve successfully gotten close to Mrs. Fairchild.’
Melody Monroe put down her phone and went back to reading her script.
She had no idea just how powerful this fan base would become, or the immense shock it would bring her in the near future!
...
After several days of intense filming, Melody Monroe finally had a day off.
Filming didn’t wrap until nine that night, and she had just returned to her hotel.
Just then, Rose Shaw called.
"Rose."
"You have a photoshoot at the studio tomorrow. I’ve already arranged with the client to get the whole thing done in one day. I’ll send you the address in a bit. It’s about a two-hour drive, so make sure you get up a little earlier tomorrow."
"Okay!" Melody Monroe immediately agreed.
"Have you made proper arrangements for Ian?" Rose Shaw asked with concern.
"Everything’s taken care of."
"I’m so sorry about what happened with the nanny. I even specifically checked her references. I never expected something like this to happen."
"Rose, don’t say that. You’ve helped me so much already. Now that Ian is taken care of, I can finally focus on work."
"Good, that’s a relief." Rose Shaw, though, was a bit curious where Melody Monroe had sent Ian and who she had entrusted him to.
’Everyone has a right to their privacy. Since Melody didn’t want to say, she wouldn’t press the issue.’
Melody Monroe hung up, picked up her phone, and opened WeChat.
She was surprised to see that Evan Fairchild had actually sent her a message!
She tapped it open at once, and her brow immediately furrowed.
’How could he take such a terrible picture of Ian!?’
’This was simply unacceptable!’
’Were Evan Fairchild’s photography skills really this abysmal?’
First picture: Ian was wearing his backpack. With Evan Fairchild standing up to take the photo, the height difference meant that only the very top of Ian’s head was visible.
Second picture: Ian was rolling his eyes.
’That expression was prime meme material!’
Third picture: Taken during mealtime.
Melody Monroe couldn’t resist facepalming.
