Chapter 91: Idol, Are You Serious?

"No, it’s alright. I want to head back and rest early." Melody Monroe hastily waved her hand.

Her self-control was so weak right now that if Zane Langdon were to say something like, "Let’s go together," she would answer "Yes!" without a moment’s hesitation.

"In that case, you should get some rest. Be safe on your way home."

Melody Monroe: ...

’Idol, were you even serious with that invitation?’

Zane Langdon had noticed that Melody Monroe ate very little and that her meals were always diet-friendly; she must have been trying to lose weight. As an actor himself, he understood how crucial an actor’s physique was, especially for an actress.

So, he didn’t press the issue. It was a matter of respect and politeness.

"Well, you guys have fun then." Melody Monroe waved to Zane Langdon. Her heart was screaming: ’I really want to go! I really want to eat meat!’

A river of sorrow was flooding her heart, but she still had to maintain her smile.

Talia Mercer and Winter Kane finished packing up their things and came over to Melody Monroe.

"You two should go ahead. I’ll be fine walking back by myself," Melody Monroe said to them.

"It’s so late. We’ll take you back." Talia Mercer insisted, not comfortable with letting Melody Monroe go home by herself.

Melody Monroe’s heart warmed at her words.

"We’ll drop you off at the hotel, then we can go. It won’t be too late," Talia Mercer added.

"Mhm," Winter Kane nodded.

Melody Monroe: ...

’Are you two devils?’

’Forget it. I’m not hungry. I’m not hungry at all!’

’I don’t want barbecue. I don’t want it at all!’

Melody Monroe, Talia Mercer, and Winter Kane were the first to leave the film set.

Tommy watched their departing figures, not understanding what the Boss was thinking. Why was he just standing there, doing nothing, now that Miss Monroe was leaving?

’Didn’t the Boss come here to find Miss Monroe? Shouldn’t he be going after her?’

Evan Fairchild was just about to lift his foot when he suddenly overheard the conversation up ahead.

"Melody, what a shame about today!" Talia Mercer felt a pang of disappointment as she thought about the kiss scene.

"What’s a shame?"

"Your kiss scene with Zane Langdon! Do you really not want to film a kiss scene?"

"I do want to!"

Evan Fairchild stood in the shadows, his gaze dark as he stared at her figure.

"I thought you didn’t! If you do, then why did you keep getting NGs?"

"I..." Melody Monroe trailed off.

"Why?" Talia Mercer’s curiosity was piqued, and she wouldn’t rest until she got an answer. "Melody, you have to tell me. Is it because you like someone else? So you say you want to, but your body instinctively resists! But that’s Zane Langdon! Don’t you think that’s a shame?"

Melody Monroe was truly impressed by Talia Mercer’s overactive imagination. "I don’t like anyone else," she denied.

"Then what is the reason?"

"I have a bit of a trauma when it comes to kissing." Melody Monroe couldn’t withstand Talia’s intense curiosity and finally confessed.

"A trauma? Where did this trauma come from?"

"I was traumatized by someone!"

"Scared by who?"

Melody Monroe suddenly turned her head and glanced at Talia Mercer. "Someone I hate very, very much!"

"Who is it!"

Melody Monroe raised her hand and pointed at Talia Mercer.

"Okay, okay, I won’t ask!" Talia Mercer immediately gave an awkward laugh.

Melody Monroe turned back around and sighed.

The group started walking forward again.

Suddenly, a black luxury car shot out from behind them. The sound of screeching brakes shattered the quiet of the night—a sound that made your hair stand on end!

They were right at an intersection, and the car that suddenly burst out gave them a fright.

The car executed a drift in the narrow intersection, changed direction, and sped off to the side.

"COUGH COUGH COUGH!" Melody Monroe and the others quickly waved their hands to fan away the car’s exhaust fumes.
