"The meaning is..."

"Mom!" Ian Monroe ran in. Seeing his dad and mom standing so close, he froze for a second.

His son’s sudden entrance interrupted Evan Fairchild.

Melody Monroe quickly let go and looked at Ian Monroe.

"Mom, you’re so beautiful!" Ian Monroe’s little face was filled with awe.

Hearing her son’s praise, a blush crept onto Melody Monroe’s face.

"Mom, are you ready? Can we go now?"

"I’m ready." Melody Monroe nodded immediately.

Evan Fairchild took Ian Monroe’s hand and led him out first, with Melody Monroe following behind them.

"Sweetheart, can you wait for Mommy for five more minutes?" Melody Monroe suddenly said to Ian Monroe.

"Okay," Ian Monroe nodded.

Melody Monroe quickly grabbed her nearby bag and walked toward the restroom. She took out the cosmetics from her bag and swiftly touched up her makeup.

Before, she had only used lip balm, which had a very faint color.

She immediately twisted open the tube of bright red lipstick in her bag and applied a coat.

’It’s true, lipstick really is a woman’s power.’

Compared to just a moment ago, she looked like a completely different person.

When Melody Monroe walked out again, the eyes of the man and the boy outside were glued to her.

"I’m ready. Let’s go," Melody Monroe said, feeling a bit shy under their stares.

...

The place Evan Fairchild had chosen was right in Jansburg.

The location was very secluded; most people wouldn’t even be able to find it.

It was a private kitchen that only received one party of distinguished guests per day, exuding an air of exclusivity.

Melody Monroe looked at the traditional Chinese estate before her, feeling as if she had traveled back in time.

An attendant led the way.

They would be dining in a pavilion on an artificial lake.

Red silk gauze hung from the pavilion. On one side, it was gathered and tied back, while the other sides were left to hang down. The hems were weighted with crystal beads, preventing them from fluttering about even in the wind.

Beside the table, there were only three seats. A classical incense burner sat to one side, with sandalwood burning within.

The pavilion was enclosed by a railing, and the lake was filled with numerous koi fish.

The koi immediately swam over.

It was Ian Monroe’s first time seeing so many fish, and he excitedly leaned against the railing to watch them.

The attendant approached and offered a small, woven wicker jar to Ian Monroe. "This is fish food. Would you like to feed the fish, Young Master?"

"Thank you." Ian Monroe took the fish food and tossed some into the lake.

The koi instantly swarmed and scrambled for the food, churning the water’s surface into chaos!

"Wow!" Ian Monroe’s little mouth hung open in surprise.

Melody Monroe was also drawn in. She walked over to feed the fish with Ian Monroe.

"Mom, look at that one! The red one! Its tail is so pretty!"

"And that white one!"

"And the little fish!"

"Mom, don’t feed them yet. As soon as we sprinkle the food, the big fish snatch it all."

"Then what should we do?"

"Like this!" Ian Monroe grabbed a handful of fish food and threw it far away.

Just as he’d planned, a school of large fish was drawn away by the food!

They splashed and churned the water’s surface.

The smaller fish hadn’t had time to react and were still swimming foolishly nearby.

"Mom, you throw a little bit of food far away. That’ll keep the big fish over there, and I’ll feed the little ones!"

Ian Monroe’s method worked perfectly.

Evan Fairchild sat in his chair, watching the two of them. They could find so much joy in just feeding fish.

When they had run out of fish food, Melody Monroe wrapped her arm around Ian and they stood by the railing, watching the fish.

"Ian, you’re so clever! I can’t believe you thought of that. The little fish must be full now." Melody Monroe hadn’t thought of it at all.
