Chapter 75: You Have Too Much Free Time?
The call was from Rose Shaw.
A few seconds passed before he answered.
"Rose."
"Where are you?"
"I just got to the film set." Raymond Ford sounded a bit guilty. He was terrified of Rose Shaw, and she just had to call at this exact moment.
"For the next two days, watch yourself. Try your best not to appear before the media. It’s never wrong to keep a low profile. Staying away from this kind of hype is also for your own protection."
"I know, Rose. I was in a rush to get to filming today and wasn’t paying attention to the news online, so I didn’t expect to run into this kind of situation right after leaving the hotel."
"What the hell is your assistant for?!" Rose Shaw retorted bluntly.
"I just scolded her," Raymond Ford replied at once.
"Nothing else. I’m hanging up." Rose Shaw hung up, started her car, and drove forward.
’If I find out someone from Stellaris is behind this, I will show no mercy!’
...
The phone on the desk rang over and over. Evan Fairchild glanced down at it, but he still didn’t plan on answering.
Staring at his phone, Jasper Rockwell felt his own stubborn streak kick in.
’I refuse to believe this! I’m not stopping until Evan Fairchild picks up today!’
Finally, the call connected.
"Evan, you finally answered!"
"Sir, it’s me."
"Tommy? Give the phone to President Fairchild. I need to talk to him about something very important!"
Tommy glanced at President Fairchild beside him and said into the phone, "Sir, President Fairchild is in a meeting."
"Meeting, my ass! He just doesn’t want to talk to me! I just need to say three sentences!"
Evan Fairchild took the phone and said coldly, "Speak!"
"Melody Monroe is playing the second female lead! Not that annoying character, and she’s not just cannon fodder anymore—they added scenes especially for her! Wouldn’t you call that a blessing in disguise?"
"Your three sentences are up."
"I have one more, most important thing! I was just trying to say that this was all my doing, I—"
The call was disconnected.
Jasper Rockwell: ...
For a brief second, Tommy silently pitied Jasper Rockwell.
He finally knew who the young lady was.
It was Melody Monroe!
’For Sir to be calling to take credit right now... he must not have been online. Does he have any idea what’s happening?’
"President Fairchild, people have started slandering Miss Monroe online over this. Should we...?" Tommy asked, testing the waters.
"Do you have too much time on your hands?"
"No, not at all." Tommy immediately shook his head, gathered the files from the desk, and left.
...
Melody Monroe was holding a small bowl containing a few boiled cabbage leaves, while several dishes were laid out on the table in front of her.
"Melody, if you keep staring at me like that, I’m losing my appetite," said Talia Mercer, looking troubled. ’If I don’t eat, I’ll be hungry. But if I do, I’ll feel too guilty!’
"It’s fine, go ahead and eat. I’m okay just watching," Melody Monroe said, nibbling on a cabbage leaf as she watched Talia Mercer pop a piece of meat into her mouth.
"Melody, don’t get too down about it. Rose will definitely handle it. Come on, eat up. How are you going to have the energy to work if you don’t eat properly?"
"No, no, no, I’m not eating." Melody Monroe shook her head. "It’s not that I’ve lost my appetite because of the online stuff. Yesterday, Rose came over and made me get on the scale," Melody said, putting down her bowl and chopsticks with a miserable look on her face.
"And?"
"I gained weight!"
Talia Mercer: ...
"Rose said if I don’t get my weight under ninety-nine pounds, she’ll drop me as a client. And I have to do it within ten days! Under ninety-nine pounds!"
"How much do you weigh now?"
"A hundred and ten!"
"Then you’d better hurry up, finish those few cabbage leaves, and get to the gym!"
Melody Monroe: ... "This is too hard! It’s too hard!"
...
That evening, Rose Shaw pulled up in front of a KTV.
She had already found out who posted the thread.
