Chapter 299: Handsome and Bewitching
With Melody Monroe’s current fame, there’s no way she shouldn’t be getting roles!
If it’s Evan Fairchild... then there’s really nothing we can do.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang again.
Rose Shaw frowned. ’It can’t be Keith Coleman again, can it?’ She didn’t dare just open the door anymore.
"Hello, we’re with the hotel staff. Is there anyone in the room?"
Rose Shaw opened the door. "What is it?"
"Rose!" a voice called out.
Rose Shaw...
Hearing that voice, and the name "Rose," made her hair stand on end.
Keith Coleman stepped out from behind the hotel employee and said to them, "Thank you. My friend hasn’t come out of her room for two days and two nights, and I was getting really worried."
"Is there anything else, sir?"
"No, that’s all."
"Very good, sir."
Once the staff member left, Keith Coleman quickly put his hand on the door, afraid Rose Shaw would lock him out again.
"Rose, I brought you something to eat. You’ve been locked in this room all this time, you must not have had a chance to try any of the local specialties!"
"I’ve spent more time in Jansburg than I have in Rockwellburg. I got tired of the food here ages ago." Rose Shaw said, walking back into the room.
Keith Coleman froze.
’What does she mean by that?’
’He had only planned on dropping off the food and leaving.’
’Has she actually given me permission to come in?’ He took a tentative step forward to gauge her reaction.
’Honestly, he was no match for her in a fight!’
"Sit," Rose Shaw said coolly.
Keith Coleman immediately darted inside and sat on the sofa.
A white laptop sat on the table. Beside it was an ashtray overflowing with cigarette butts.
Rose Shaw picked up a pack of cigarettes from the table and offered it to Keith Coleman.
"I don’t smoke," Keith Coleman said, shaking his head.
"You mind if I smoke?" Rose Shaw asked.
"Not at all."
Rose Shaw pulled out a cigarette and lit it with practiced ease. She leaned against a nearby cabinet, dressed in a short skirt and a loose-fitting shirt. Her short hair was slightly disheveled, but even though she was alone, she still had her makeup on.
A wisp of smoke curled before her, making her pretty face appear hazy and indistinct.
It was the first time Keith Coleman had ever been captivated by the way a woman smoked.
’Effortlessly cool and dangerously alluring!’
’A woman like that... what kind of man could she possibly fall for?’
"Melody Monroe hasn’t been getting any roles lately. What are your thoughts on that?" Rose Shaw suddenly asked.
"I’m just a personal assistant. Is that really any of my business?"
Rose Shaw suddenly moved closer, perching on the edge of the table in front of him. A faint smile played on her red lips as she held her cigarette between her fingers. "Who do you work for?"
"If you’ll have me, I’m all yours."
Rose Shaw chuckled, took a drag from her cigarette, and blew the smoke right in Keith Coleman’s face.
Keith Coleman was stunned.
’It was the first time he’d ever thought the smell of smoke could be so fragrant, so sweet.’
"What’s your connection to Asher Archer?"
"He’s one of Skye’s fans. I know him from the fan community."
Rose Shaw nodded as if she believed him. Then, she suddenly reached out and laid a hand on his shoulder.
Keith Coleman froze. He started to reach for her small hand, but just as his fingers were about to touch hers, her sharp gaze stopped him cold. He quickly pulled his hand back.
"That wine from yesterday... it was quite expensive. Such a waste."
"I have more!"
"That wine is very hard to come by."
"I can get you as much as you want to drink."
"You’re surprisingly resourceful, able to get your hands on wine from Valdoro Winery just like that. You and President Fairchild must be quite close, mustn’t you?"
Keith Coleman froze. Rose Shaw had already pulled her hand back and stubbed out her cigarette.
’This woman... she’s sharp.’
