Chapter 338: Don’t Pollute the Air Within Three Steps of Her
’At least she has a brain.’
’She knows she can’t afford to offend powerful people, whether they’re from the Rockwell Family or the Fisher Family.’
"If you don’t know, then isn’t everything you’ve said just a baseless rumor?" Melody immediately pressed.
Eileen Scott’s expression froze. Unable to swallow her pride, she suddenly swung at Melody, determined to get that slap back.
But before her hand could even reach Melody, Melody was a step faster, landing another slap across her face.
The force of the blow sent her stumbling into a nearby table before she collapsed wretchedly onto the floor.
The onlookers were startled and quickly backed away, no longer daring to stand near Eileen Scott.
Eileen Scott’s assistant immediately rushed over to help her up.
"Rose, Melody, even if Eileen said something out of line, you can’t just go around hitting people! Look at her face! How is she supposed to appear on camera tomorrow?"
Rose Shaw picked up a nearby glass of water and splashed it on the assistant. Amidst the assistant’s stunned silence, she smiled and apologized, "Oh, I’m so sorry. Your face got in my way, and the water spilled on you."
The assistant immediately held her tongue. Even though she was seething with rage, she didn’t dare make a sound.
’Lana Sheffield’s cousin? Her reasons for joining this cast probably aren’t so simple.’
Rose Shaw didn’t understand. ’Why can’t Lana Sheffield just leave it alone? The only reason she’s going after Melody like this is because she still suspects Melody has some kind of secret relationship with President Sterling, isn’t it?’
’If you don’t trust him at all, why get married in the first place?’
"What’s all this? What’s going on?" A not-unfamiliar voice rang out as a middle-aged man in a white T-shirt and a gray vest walked over.
The moment Eileen Scott saw Wayne Payne, she burst into aggrieved tears. Wayne Payne was on the same level as Rose Shaw at their company and was also her agent, so seeing him was like seeing her savior.
"Eileen, your face, what happened? You just got here and you’re already injured? How are you going to film now?" Wayne Payne stepped forward, cupping Eileen’s face with a pained expression.
’Those were two vicious slaps! Her face is already swollen.’
Melody looked at Eileen Scott’s face, not feeling in the least that she had been too rough.
’Just returning the favor.’
’It’s just that Eileen Scott took the slap that was meant for Lana Sheffield.’
"Melody hit her," the assistant hurriedly tattled to Wayne Payne.
Wayne Payne looked over at Rose Shaw, still smiling. "Rose, look at this... We’re all in the same company. With our professional relationship, it shouldn’t have come to this! Hitting people is just wrong, don’t you think? And what am I supposed to tell Mrs. Sterling now?"
"Wayne Payne, I don’t care why you’re on this show, but you’d better watch yourself."
Wayne Payne suddenly leaned in toward Rose Shaw, his smile turning sleazy.
"Rose, now what kind of talk is that? We’re from the same company, both working for President Sterling. Our relationship should be getting closer, not so... stiff. Don’t you agree?"
Suddenly, a heavy force pressed down on Wayne Payne’s shoulder, and his portly body slammed onto a table. The table shattered under the impact! He was in too much pain to even get up.
Rose Shaw and Melody Monroe both turned to look at Keith Coleman at the same time.
’When did he get here?’
’How could a sissy like him be this strong?’
’Wayne Payne has to weigh at least 200 pounds, yet Keith Coleman slammed him onto a table with just one hand! And he made it look brutal!’
"I’m warning you. From now on, stay far away from Rose. Best to keep a ten-foot distance so you don’t pollute the air around her," Keith Coleman warned coldly, pointing at Wayne Payne.
