Chapter 234: This Is to Finish Off Stellaris
Evan Fairchild remained silent, his expression terrifyingly grim.
Auntie Lana and Claire Walsh were scared to death. Mr. Fairchild looked so menacing, yet Master Hale wasn’t the least bit afraid.
"Mr. Fairchild, I don’t want to be your son anymore! Can you give me back to my mom?" Ian Monroe suddenly ran in front of Evan Fairchild, blocking his path.
"Impossible!" came Evan Fairchild’s cold, one-word reply.
Ian Monroe suddenly clung to Evan Fairchild’s leg. "Mommy doesn’t like you. She doesn’t want to come... Does this mean she won’t want Ian anymore?"
Evan Fairchild stopped in his tracks and looked down at Ian Monroe.
"Ian Monroe, do you know what it means if your mother doesn’t marry me?"
"What does it mean?"
"It means you have to choose between your mother and me!"
"I choose Mommy!" Ian Monroe answered without hesitation.
"That’s not your choice to make."
"Then who’s going to make the choice for me!" Ian Monroe looked at his father’s grave expression. ’I’m so scared.’
"You’re not even four years old. You don’t have the right to choose for yourself. The law only cares about who is more suitable to raise a child. And based on that time you went missing, your mother has already lost her right to custody!"
Still clinging to Evan Fairchild’s leg, Ian Monroe looked up at him, a flicker of panic in his eyes.
Evan Fairchild bent down and picked Ian Monroe up. "You should be thinking about how to get Mommy and Daddy together. You don’t have the right to get rid of your father, understand?"
"But Mommy doesn’t like you."
"If she doesn’t like me, then she’ll just have to put up with it. Once she’s with me, I won’t let anyone hurt her!"
"You’ll really protect Mommy?"
"I will," Evan Fairchild nodded.
Suddenly, Evan Fairchild’s phone rang.
Evan Fairchild glanced at the caller ID.
"Go eat dinner. You need to sleep after you’re done."
Ian Monroe slid out of Evan Fairchild’s arms and headed for his room.
Evan Fairchild went into his study and answered the call.
"President Fairchild, things in Jansburg are all settled. I’ll head back to Rockwellburg first thing in the morning." Tommy’s voice came through the phone.
"Don’t come back just yet."
"President Fairchild, is there something else important here in Jansburg?"
"I’m preparing to invest another two billion in Starfall."
Tommy was taken aback. "President Fairchild, our current investment is already on par with Stellaris’s total assets."
’Stellaris is already struggling. Starfall’s attacks have already hit them hard!’
’If President Fairchild invests another two billion, he’s not just attacking Stellaris—he’s trying to utterly destroy it!’

Tommy hung up and took a deep breath.
’Looks like things are about to get very busy.’
Evan Fairchild set his phone aside, opened his laptop, and navigated to his inbox. He scrolled through his recent messages, relying on memory to find a particular email.
He scrolled to the very bottom of the attached contract and, just as he’d suspected, saw Mason Sheffield’s signature.

When Christopher Sterling arrived at the Sheffield residence, a servant showed him into the living room.
Lana Sheffield, who had been curled up beside her mother, Tina Walsh, shot to her feet the moment she saw Christopher Sterling and stormed further into the house.
"Christopher, you’re here. Please, have a seat. Have you eaten?" Tina Walsh asked gently.
"I’ve already eaten."
"Lana has always had a temper, that child. And now that she’s pregnant, she really can’t afford to get upset. If she gets too worked up, it’s bad for both her and the baby."
Christopher Sterling nodded.
Seeing that Christopher Sterling was taking her words to heart, Tina Walsh continued, "Lana told me what happened when she got home. It was because of some actress, wasn’t it? That’s why you two fought."
