"Didn’t you choose this path yourself?"

"It’s just some dirt. Melody Monroe is already a mess, is she really afraid of more exposure? You’d drive me into a corner just for her! Is this how the company treats its newcomers? ’Equal opportunities, striving for fairness!’ Is this fair?"

"Rhona Hughes, are you telling me this is the *only* thing you’ve done to wrong Melody Monroe?" Rose Shaw suddenly demanded, her gaze sharpening.

Rhona Hughes immediately shut her mouth, unable to meet Rose Shaw’s gaze.

Rose Shaw took a step closer, and Rhona Hughes immediately backed away.

"Rose, Rose!" Leah Young quickly ran over, tugging on Rose Shaw’s sleeve.

"Let go of me."

Leah Young immediately let go. "Rose, please listen to my explanation. Rhona just lost her temper for a moment; she didn’t mean to talk back to you. Rhona and Melody Monroe have some bad blood, so she’s been holding a grudge..."

"Leah Young, what are you talking about! Shut up!" Rhona Hughes shouted.

"Rose, Rhona just couldn’t get over her anger. That’s why when she saw those files at Raymond Ford’s place, she gave them to Landon Harmon. She was just acting on impulse and didn’t think about the consequences, and she never expected things to blow up like they did," Leah Young said urgently.

Rhona Hughes yanked Leah Young away and shot her a glare.

’What kind of assistant is this, badmouthing me in front of my enemy! Does she even want to keep her job?’

Rose Shaw’s gaze fell upon Leah Young. Unable to withstand such an intense look, Leah immediately lowered her head.

"Are you saying that the things Rhona Hughes gave to Landon Harmon were found at Raymond Ford’s place?"

"Yes." Leah Young nodded immediately. ’This is the most I can do to help!’

Rose Shaw glanced at Rhona Hughes one more time before turning to leave.

Even someone as slow on the uptake as Rhona Hughes could see that Rose Shaw’s attitude had suddenly shifted.

"Leah Young, you’re so clever, using Raymond Ford as a scapegoat right now!"

Leah Young sighed but said nothing.

"But now you’ve dragged Raymond Ford into this. I wonder if Rose Shaw will go after him."

"Rhona, have you ever considered that Raymond Ford might be the one who dragged *you* into this?" Leah Young finally couldn’t hold back any longer.

Rhona Hughes was already done for. From what Rose Shaw had just said, it was clear she had discovered something and intended to pursue it further.

’If they find out, that’s intentional assault. I could go to jail!’

The question stunned Rhona Hughes. She stood there frozen, like a wooden statue.

...

"CUT!" Director Wallace shouted, a hint of a smile on his face.

It was the first genuine smile he’d shown in days.

Melody Monroe and Zane Langdon both looked toward Director Wallace, waiting to see if they’d gotten the take.

"Perfect!" Director Wallace gave them a thumbs-up.

"You two go take a break. We’re going to squeeze in one of Raymond Ford’s scenes now, and there’s still a night shoot later."

"Alright."

"Alright."

Melody Monroe and Zane Langdon replied in unison once again.

"Such great chemistry, both on-screen and off!" a crew member couldn’t help but tease.

Zane Langdon laughed and patted the man’s shoulder. "Thanks for all your hard work, everyone."

"Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Langdon."

After greeting everyone, Zane Langdon raised his wrist to check the time. He turned to Melody Monroe and said, "We’ve got some time now. We’ve been shooting for hours, want to go grab a bite?"

"No, it’s alright. I’ll just eat something simple here," Melody Monroe immediately refused.

’I’m still at 102.5 pounds. I just have to see this through!’
