So far, only Keith Coleman had seen the dress.

"This gown is called ’River of Starlight,’ and from this day forward, it’s yours." Asher Archer handed the dress to Melody Monroe.

Melody took it and went into the room to change.

When she emerged again, everyone in the room stared, their eyes filled with awe.

She was the brightest light in the night!

A sheer gossamer veil draped from the gown’s shoulder. It was so fine that, even without a breeze, it seemed to float ethereally, like a wisp of cloud drifting from a mountain peak.

The true genius of ’River of Starlight’s’ design lay in its skirt.

It was composed of roughly ten layers of intricate openwork, each one embedded with glittering diamonds.

From every angle, it revealed a different constellation!

"With even the faintest glimmer of light, she’s guaranteed to capture everyone’s attention."

Melody held the skirt, so nervous she could barely breathe.

"Tonight, you will be the center of everyone’s attention!"

...

Raymond Ford had already arrived. A long red carpet was laid out outside the stadium, and the area was packed with Zane Langdon’s fans holding light-up signs.

Right now, both she and Melody were riding on Zane Langdon’s coattails. Otherwise, a crowd like this would have been impossible.

She scanned the crowd but saw no signs with her name on them.

And yet, she could see a few scattered people in the crowd holding signs for Melody Monroe!

A surge of anger flared within her.

’So what if I don’t have any? Good thing I came prepared.’

"Raymond! Raymond! We love you!" A shout suddenly erupted from the distance.

Everyone turned to look. A group of people holding signs for Raymond Ford were chanting in unison. There must have been a hundred or two of them.

Zane Langdon’s fans nearby all looked at this group that had appeared out of nowhere with expressions of utter disgust.

Even though the area was packed, everyone automatically shuffled away from this group, drawing a clear line.

Raymond Ford watched her small, isolated group of fans and secretly clenched her fists.

That group of fans immediately rushed forward to the very front, spreading out in a line and occupying a long stretch of the barrier.

This behavior made the fans nearby frown, their expressions growing even more disdainful.

"Raymond, you’re so beautiful!"

"Raymond, you look absolutely stunning today! Isn’t that dress a limited edition?"

"It is! You guys are amazing for noticing."

"I know! It’s by the same designer who made that other really famous dress from the same collection, right?"

Raymond Ford smiled and nodded. "I had my people try to negotiate for it, but the designer said that particular gown is very selective. They only give it to the right person, since it’s one-of-a-kind in the world. They insisted I go in person, and we had everything all worked out. But then *Warm Wind*’s premiere was moved up, and this event was too, so I had no choice but to buy this one first."

"You’re so beautiful, Raymond, how could that other dress not be a perfect fit? This one is gorgeous too, and it’s from the same collection, so it’s practically the same!"

"Thank you for the compliments."

"Raymond will definitely be the most beautiful person here tonight!"

The real fans nearby suddenly fell silent, watching this nauseating display without a flicker of emotion.

"Hey Raymond, how much are you paying these ’fans’ a day?"

"With acting this good, it’s gotta be two hundred."

"Two hundred a day? More like two hundred an hour."

"Where’d you hire these extras from? Their acting is incredible!"

The people nearby couldn’t resist jeering.

Raymond Ford’s expression instantly stiffened.

"How can you talk like that? Have some class!"

"You’re right, how could I be so classless? I’m just repeating what Raymond Ford herself once said!"
