Chapter 289: No Comparison, No Harm
The man was speechless and didn’t dare to say another word.
At first, the people nearby couldn’t recall when Raymond Ford had ever said something like that.
But once they remembered, they couldn’t help but cover their mouths to stifle their laughter.
The image of Raymond Ford being pinned to the ground by several security guards flashed through their minds.
Raymond Ford’s face went pale. However, to maintain his image in front of so many people, he had no choice but to bear it and force a smile.
"Raymond Ford has been standing here forever. Why hasn’t he gone in yet?"
"Don’t tell me he’s waiting for Zane."
"God, I hope not!"
The fans started murmuring again.
"The fact that he’s standing here, breathing the same air as Zane... I can’t stand it!"
The people Raymond Ford had hired didn’t dare to shout anymore. Surrounded by a mob of Zane Langdon’s fans, they looked small, lonely, and helpless.
"AH! AHHHHHH!" Suddenly, a shriek pierced the air from a distance!
"Zane Langdon! It’s Zane Langdon!"
Everyone turned to look in that direction.
A black luxury van had pulled up. Zane Langdon was the first to step out. He straightened his blue suit and gave a wave to his fans.
"AH! Zane Langdon!"
"Zane Langdon! Zane!"
"There are thousands of male stars in the world, but none of them are as handsome as Zane Langdon!"
"Did you guys notice? Zane’s wearing a full suit today!"
"I know, he’s so, so handsome!"
"We hardly ever see our Zane in a suit! I can only imagine what those editing fiends are going to do with today’s photos. I bet they’ll turn them into wedding pictures!"
"Maybe I should learn how to use Photoshop, too!"
The fans’ excited shrieks rolled in one wave after another. They all held their light-up signs high, and as far as the eye could see, the crowd looked like a galaxy of stars.
After greeting the fans, Zane Langdon turned and looked back into the van.
Those standing close enough to see didn’t dare to blink. ’Is there someone else in the car?’
’Who could Zane Langdon possibly be waiting for?’
’They actually came together!’
Raymond Ford stood there awkwardly. Seeing this, he was frozen—it felt wrong to approach, but just as wrong to leave.
Melody Monroe stepped out of the vehicle and stood beside Zane Langdon.
"AH! It’s Melody Monroe!"
"Zane and Melody Monroe arrived together!"
The sight sent the couple’s shippers into a frenzy of screams.
"Zane Langdon! Melody Monroe!"
Melody Monroe stood beside Zane Langdon and adjusted the sheer fabric on her shoulder. The diamonds embedded in her gown seemed to capture all the light, sparkling brilliantly.
She looked as if she were standing among the stars, breathtakingly beautiful.
"Oh my god! Melody Monroe is gorgeous!"
"Her gown is stunning!"
"They’re both wearing black, but Melody’s dress is like the brightest star in the galaxy. Raymond Ford just looks drab and dreary. They’re not even in the same league!"
"Even if they were wearing the same outfit, it all comes down to who’s wearing it!"
"Exactly. Celebrities are people too. There’s always a difference between the advertisement and what you actually get."
Hearing these comments, Raymond Ford’s face burned with humiliation.
The feeling was no less humiliating than the two slaps Melody Monroe had given him that day.
Zane Langdon and Melody Monroe had arrived together. ’So what am I supposed to do now?’ He had waited here all this time just for a chance to walk in with Zane Langdon.
’We’re the male and female leads of this show!’
’Even for a publicity stunt, it should be the main leads together. What’s a supporting character like Melody Monroe got to do with anything?’
He was completely sidelined. Zane Langdon had seen him but didn’t even offer a greeting, and the fans had completely ignored him as well.
"I can’t breathe! Even as a woman, I can’t handle how gorgeous Melody Monroe is! She’s too beautiful! Please, her and my Zane should just get married right here, right now! I fully approve of this union."
