Chapter 290: Master Rockwell Is Having a Tough Time

Standing beside Zane Langdon, Melody Monroe was thrilled to spot her own light-up signs in the crowd.
’Her fans actually came.’
Zane Langdon and Melody Monroe didn’t linger long. They greeted everyone as they made their way toward the entrance.
Raymond Ford watched the two of them go inside, then turned and left as well.
"Thank goodness for Melody! Otherwise, Zane would’ve been cornered here by Raymond Ford!"
"Yeah, Zane’s so shy, he definitely wouldn’t have rejected Raymond Ford in a public setting like this. And then Raymond would’ve gotten his way!"
"The trailer is dropping in half an hour. I’m suddenly so excited!"
"I wish Melody Monroe was the female lead! Just seeing Raymond Ford now makes me sick."
Outside, the discussions continued.
As soon as Melody Monroe and Zane Langdon went inside, a staff member guided them to their designated seats.
The stage was divided into three sections.
The first section was for the host. Besides the host’s spot, there were five chairs set up in front of a large promotional poster.
These five seats were for the film’s producer, the director, and the main actors: Zane Langdon, Raymond Ford, and Melody Monroe.
The rest were seated in the guest area below the stage.
The second stage was for performances. The main creative team had prepared a full lineup of entertainment for the evening.
The third stage was set up closest to the audience, to facilitate interaction with them.
Melody Monroe and Zane Langdon were resting backstage, from where they could see that the venue was already packed.
Rose Shaw also came backstage with Keith Coleman and Talia Mercer, walking over to Melody Monroe’s side.
Sean Coleman also walked over from another direction, bringing Jasper Rockwell and Nola Hughes with him.
"Rose, long time no see." Sean Coleman immediately walked over to greet Rose Shaw.
"Yes, it’s been a while." Rose Shaw smiled and nodded.
As soon as Jasper Rockwell arrived, he squeezed in next to Melody Monroe, his face alight with excitement. It was his first time attending an event like this.
"Melody, you look so beautiful today." He glanced at the gown Melody Monroe was wearing. He felt like he’d seen it somewhere before, but he couldn’t quite recall where.
"I look the same as always."
"Come on, Melody, let’s take a picture." Jasper Rockwell took out his phone and aimed it at the two of them. Melody Monroe played along, striking various selfie poses.
"I want a picture too!" Nola Hughes immediately squeezed in as well. "Let’s use my phone! I want to save it forever!"
He’d been a fan of Melody Monroe for ages!
"Let’s all take a group photo! It’s rare for everyone to be together like this!" Sean Coleman suggested.
"Great idea!"
"Come on, come on, let’s take it over here. We’ll find a staff member to take it for us."
Everyone stood up, and Zane Langdon walked toward Melody Monroe’s side.
Jasper Rockwell saw this and immediately squeezed past, positioning himself between Melody Monroe and Zane Langdon.
"Cheese!"
Jasper Rockwell raised his arm and draped it over Zane Langdon’s shoulder.
Zane Langdon glanced down at Jasper Rockwell, his brow furrowing slightly.
Jasper Rockwell seemed to sense something. He looked up and met Zane Langdon’s gaze. They were about the same height, so their eyes were level. He grinned and flashed Zane a brilliant smile.
Zane Langdon immediately looked away, a touch of cold aloofness in his demeanor.
’Could Jasper Rockwell have a crush on Melody Monroe? Last time, he snatched my flowers. This time, he’s deliberately pulling a move like this. I can clearly sense that Jasper Rockwell just doesn’t want me getting close to Melody Monroe.’
"All done!" The staff member handed the phone back.
"I’ll share it in the group chat, you guys can send it to everyone else." Jasper Rockwell shared the photo to the four-person chat group they used for gaming.
