Chapter 304: A Video
"Recently, Raymond Ford’s project, *Warm Wind Blowing North*, was released. She co-starred with Zane Langdon, causing her popularity to skyrocket."
Raymond Ford’s face stiffened. She chalked it up to the host’s routine flattery.
Her popularity, in reality, was in a steady decline.
Her follower count on Weibo was dropping every day.
’She even wondered if the bot followers she’d bought were being maliciously deleted.’
The people watching the livestream online couldn’t help but post a barrage of bullet comments at this point.
"Why do I find Raymond Ford so disgusting now? I used to be a fan of hers. Thank God I’m not completely blind and managed to snap out of it."
"Haven’t you guys noticed? She’s always making veiled remarks."
"This is my favorite show. Why would they invite Raymond Ford? Is she even worthy of being on here?"
"I know, right! Ugh, I don’t want to watch anymore."
"Yeah, I’m not gonna watch the rest of tonight’s show."
In that moment, the viewership ratings plummeted, breaking the record for the show’s all-time low.
"Raymond Ford, rumor has it you only won first place in the dance competition that year because the results were fixed. Is that true? You and Claire Ross were in the dance department at the same school, and she has named you as the person responsible for crippling her. Do you have anything you want to say to everyone?"
"Of course, I do! Claire Ross and I weren’t just from the same school; we were good friends, and both of us were at the top of our class. I know she must be heartbroken that she can’t dance anymore, so she might start imagining things. I can understand that. After all, anyone can feel jealous, especially when their whole world has collapsed. I truly sympathize with Claire Ross. To this day, I still consider her my good friend. In my heart, our friendship has never died."
Raymond Ford spoke with utmost sincerity, her eyes even welling up with tears.
"Let’s take a look at a video."
The moment the host finished speaking, surveillance footage appeared on the large screen behind them.
Raymond Ford’s face stiffened as she looked at the familiar scene!
’After that question, weren’t they supposed to ask about my dance major? About how difficult it was, and how professional I am?’
’Why are they showing this video?!’
’Where did they get this video?!’
She clenched her hands nervously, her palms slick with sweat.
A figure appeared on the screen. It was just the back of a girl, her hair tied up high, with a build similar to Raymond Ford’s.
Raymond Ford feigned composure.
’The video isn’t very clear, and it’s just a view from the back. You can’t see her face at all. This doesn’t prove anything!’
The figure in the video was seen pouring a bucket of water onto the stairs.
Although it was surveillance footage, you could still see some sort of foamy substance in the water.
The figure flickered and then vanished from the frame.
Less than a minute later, a girl with a graceful air walked into the frame.
Everyone watching held their breath, their hearts in their throats.
The studio audience, in particular, was glued to the screen, not daring to blink.
The girl’s face was clearly visible—delicate and pretty, beaming with a confident smile.
The girl saw that the floor was wet and grabbed the handrail, but the ground was too slippery. She couldn’t stop herself from falling!
She must have let out a scream as she fell.
Then, other students came running over. But they couldn’t stop on the slippery surface either, and they began to tumble down the stairs one after another, like a cascade of dominoes!
The girl who had fallen at the bottom was struck and kicked by the others as they tumbled down, suffering horrific secondary injuries!
The footage stopped.
