Chapter 1221 - 489: The Three Giants
The sky in this region rarely showed such strange colors.
The sky was no longer bright blue but a deep red hue, with a substance like black smoke permeating the entire sky.
The sun, eternally hanging at the horizon, was dyed a deep shade of orange-red here.
In the central sky of this area, there was a twisted visual effect, a vortex-like twist converging toward the center.
It was as if something below was generating a strong suction, causing even the air to distort to some extent.
Look down into the earth.
A bottomless giant chasm, stretching for kilometers.
The pitch-black chasm seemed to absorb all the surrounding light; it was pure darkness.
Next to the chasm was a city wall formed from lava cooled by water.
It guarded against the seawater; it was only upon looking that one noticed one side of the chasm connected to a sea stream leading out of the continent.
At the edge of the chasm, strange creatures continuously crawled out, spreading to the surroundings; upon closer inspection, these creatures were all kinds of demons.
Occasionally, some powerful demons would howl and flap their wings, rushing out from the inside.
They seemed to be arriving in this world for the first time, roaring in excitement, with various shouts coming endlessly.
In their climb, they sometimes brawled, only to fall back into the chasm.
These demons spread out from the edge as if they never stopped.
A demon camp extended for kilometers, with no visible end.
Countless demons, of all sizes and forms, were within the camp, and conflicts and bloodshed constantly occurred here.
The demons did nothing but consume a large part of themselves through internal strife within the camp.
On the shore, one could see demon’s rugged and simple, yet seemingly operational, forging factories.
Beside it stood a volcano, with its mouth continuously spewing crimson lava, flowing into the forging factory.
The forging factory produced chaotic steel vessels and various weapons and instruments for battle.
Though these things looked rough and chaotic, causing one to worry about their usability, they were reliable.
Next to the chasm, a mountain peak soared into the clouds, with lava flowing like a small river.
Atop the mountain peak stood a throne.
The throne was made of molten steel combined with glowing red lava.
And sitting on this throne was a demon.
Dark red in color, covered with exaggerated scars, even the folded wings on his back were tattered, with one corner missing.
The most prominent feature was his demon horns atop his head.
Exaggeratedly fierce, they branched into four spikes pointing upward.
Much more magnificent than other demons.
This demon’s physique was exceptionally robust, every muscle feeling as if it held a surge of power.
Beside him floated a giant sword, about three meters long. Wide and solid, the blade was straight, unlike the jagged teeth most demons preferred.
Black chains were wrapped around the hilt, with a wild aura lifting the blade to float beside the throne.
The throne faced the massive black chasm below.
Suddenly, a crack appeared in the space next to him, and a demon, somewhat slender and weak-looking, walked out from inside.
"The method of the Devouring Mouth failed, Bei Ailai and that linked demon should be completely dead."
Upon hearing this demon’s words, the powerful demon sitting on the throne showed no reaction.
He just kept staring at the black hole.
"As expected of lowly mixed-breed mongrels, driven by a mere ant to such a state..." His voice was extremely deep and hoarse.
Yet from this voice, one could sense an imposing manner that made souls tremble and submit.
"A pity for Bei Ailai’s fallen lineage."
Upon hearing this, the demon who had just walked out from the crack stood respectfully beside him and asked, "Should we act to get rid of this ant?"
Upon hearing this, the demon suddenly stood up from the throne, casually turning his head to glance at the demon beside him.
Upon being glanced at, the somewhat slender and weak-looking demon immediately lowered his head respectfully and bent his waist.
"Don’t even think about it, Kofis. Although Devouring Mouth is a mongrel, it’s undeniable he’s not a fool. If there were a way, he would have acted.
His pride makes him constantly think of erasing his shame, the mocking voices becoming jokes among these demons."
"But, if this continues..."
Before Kofis could finish, a circular hole appeared in the air beside him.
The hole opened like a worm’s mouth, filled with sharp teeth and some mucus.
The Devouring Mouth, dressed in a human’s gentleman-like formal wear, walked out gracefully from within.
He glanced at the standing powerful demon and then looked to the side at Kofis.
"What are you discussing? Wouldn’t you suggest telling me about it?"
Kofis glanced at him, quietly moving behind the powerful demon, without any intention of responding.
"Devouring, you failed. Just like your past failures."
Looking at the face of the powerful demon, the Devouring Mouth squinted slightly, his expression showing little emotion.
He spoke in calm tones: "Sarunster, you seem to have forgotten how you got here? Without me, you’d still be dozing in your barren abyssal level.
