Lesson 39: The Snake Dragon Hunt

May 8.

Ray and Ashley both set up traps in the morning with the men from Rattley Village, and in the evening they finally finished setting up the traps.

"Tomorrow morning, I lure in Serpent the Snake Dragon. Until then, don't let them ruin the trap. We'll both be sleeping together."

Ray nods at Ashley's words and the two of us install lighted demon props around the trap.

To prevent the fire from moving into the trap, set the fire in a slightly distant position and take turns to perform a sleeping shift.

After midnight, a few wild dogs approached me to see if I was invited by the smell of fish on the fishnet I used for the trap, but Ray got rid of it with a spear, and nothing went wrong after that.

Before the dawn of May 9th, the two will begin to prepare and reconfirm the procedure.

"I lure Snake Dragon Serpent here. Ash hides here and pulls the rope at the time he passes... so there's no loophole in the procedure."

"I'm fine. Don't push it. If you fail, you can send a crusade request to the defense team. You got it."

Ashley was still skeptical of crusading the third-degree equivalent of the Green Snake Dragon for just two.

Especially with Ray thinking of his own trap and the purpose of the crusade, I was worried he would be forced to.

(This kind of critical successful operation is the most damaging. Especially inexperienced Ray is likely to be unable to... and too conscious of trying to be alone too soon. This is at stake......)

Through the still bleak woods, Ray was walking toward the lake.

From the location of the trap to the shore of the lake is about 500 m in a straight line. Walk carefully relying on the magic prop lights.

When I reach the shore of the lake, the sumptuous lake surface widens, and from time to time, I get the impression that there is no wind, other than the sound of fish bouncing, like silent footage.

(In twenty minutes, the morning mist clears. When my vision opens, I'll pull it out to Lu "Kao"!

Twenty minutes to wait on the lake shore. The dawn sunlight slowly clears the fog.

He turned around and checked the brightness in the woods.

(All right, it's getting brighter in the woods, too. Now Snake Dragon won't fall after me. Don't rush, if you calm down, you'll be fine... if you crusade third level demons, you should go up from seventh to fifth. Ash goes from sixth to fifth, too, but this qualifies him as a sidekick...)

To temper himself, he slapped the pasin and cheek before shooting the magic of the fireworks into the lake.

After the sound of Hulu Hulu, there is a loud bursting sound called Pern about thirty meters away, which shakes the lake surface greatly.

A waterfowl surprised by the sound flew in a bumpy noise of protest, and the lake, wrapped in silence and asleep, woke up at once.

As Ray stared at the lake to devour it, from the lake about 100m away, the green sickle of a snake dragon appeared.

Is Snake Dragon upset by being interrupted in his sleep, or is he happy that the bait has appeared, shaking his neck to the left and right, toward the center of the ripples made on the lake.

Ray threw a stone at the lake so Snake Dragon could find himself and shook his spear wide to boast of his existence.

Did Snake Dragon find him, swimming for the lake shore, pointing his neck straight at him who was shaking left and right, leaving behind a large voyage, Wake?

(Let me get a little closer... I should be able to handle the unforeseen situation if I use roughly 30m as a guide. All right!)

When he confirms that the Snake Dragon has landed on the shore of the lake, he runs into the woods.

Occasionally, he was taken to the bumpy ground to run looking behind him, but without falling, he headed for the trap.

Ashley had been preparing for the final trap since Ray headed to the lake bank.

In front of her, a fishnet fitted with straw and tree branches is widened wide, with two ropes attached.

The rope is through a pulley hung from a thick, sticking branch of the tree, so that one side of the fishnet can be lifted when the rope is pulled.

Ashley checks for straw and tree branches and sprinkles the oil she had prepared.

I finished spraying oil on a fishnet with five pieces, and I was ready.

Still, Ashley, who thought it would take time, was recalling an overview of the operation.

(If Ray pulls a snake dragon, hoist the fishnet and entangle the fishnet in the head of the snake dragon. Snake dragons should try to remove the fishnet, but all five fishnets are roped together, so they become extra entangled. Ray shoots in the magic of the fire attribute somewhat tangled. As a measure, you can't kill a snake dragon with the firepower of straw or tree branches, but you should be able to smash his eyes)

And as I remember my conversation with Ray,

(Inhaling smoke should weaken the movement, but Ray was skeptical... after crushing his eyes, Ray wraps his magic around the spear and does a little damage. I guard my surroundings against other demons approaching me…)

By thinking of the image of the operation with a giddy wait time, it digests.

(It should be about time...)

I heard a dry bursting sound in her ear called Pern.

Ashley grips the rope back and stares in the direction Ray is supposed to come running.

Ray heads for the trap, making sure the Snake Dragon comes after him.

He was running more than double the straight distance in order to run while adjusting not to let the snake dragon go around to the side or back to the lake.

(Did you come about half way? It would have been better to be a little closer, but it would be a pain in the ass if they ran into the lake after they did the damage... with this much distance they should be able to knock them out before they get away...)

He was thinking of stabbing a stop, even though the measure had not yet succeeded. And I realized that myself,

(You're the guy who doesn't take raccoons for calculation. First, we should make sure that the trap succeeds properly and that my attacks work. Always make mistakes if you run too far ahead......)

Ray is just seeing Ashley's waiting point, accelerating his escape feet at once.

(Running on a trap causes oil to stick to my legs, and if I do poorly, I fall. As planned, run between the nets......)

Running through the side of the fishnet, Ray turns to Snake Dragon after giving Ashley an eye signal.

And put up your favorite spear and shout out loud to intimidate you.

"Come quick! We're settled here!

Snake Dragon doesn't understand, but with Ray, the prey, stopping, he was about to lift his sickle high to intimidate and hit Ray.

"Ash!"

On Ray's signal, Ashley squeezes her full strength and pulls the rope as straw and tree branches get wet in the oil and lift the heavier fishnet.

Along with the voice of her temper of "wow," the sound of a pulley called ragged and the edge of the fishnet is slowly lifted.

Before the momentum snake dragon, a wall of about 2m made of straw or tree branches was formed, and the snake dragon penetrated the wall with its head.

Ashley quickly lets go of the rope and the fishnet drips down without force.

Snake dragons had penetrated under the fishnet in such a way that their vision had been taken away by the fishnet.

Snake dragons deprived of their sight opened their mouths wide and shook their heads hard in an attempt to eat through depressing fishnets, but loosely stretched fishnets tangled in the backs and scales of snake dragons and became more wrapped around them.

Of the five fishnets in about a minute, up to three were wrapped around the body of a serpentine dragon.

Ray, who saw it around, signaled Ashley to snort, then threw a ball of flame at Snake Dragon's face as he twisted.

The ball of flame hits the face area of a large serpentine dragon and immediately ignites the flammable material. And the fishnet immediately raised a great flame and began to flame loudly. The snake dragon was wrapped in its great flame, about a third of the front of his body.

The heat of the flames made the Snake Dragon rise even further. However, the twisting motion also drew the remaining two fishnets.

A giant pine light twenty meters long had appeared in front of the two of them.

Ray groaned "awesome" at the momentum of that flame and then said, "I can do this!" He was putting his spear back together.

Ashley was concerned that the operation, besides his thoughts, was doing what he wanted, but he was beginning to wonder if he could defeat this as well.

The Snake Dragon slams his head to the ground, desperately trying to extinguish the flame. However, the multiple entangled fishnets do not come off, and the momentum of the flames remains almost unchanged.

The momentum of the flames has weakened in two or three minutes, as it consists just of straw and tree branches.

The Snake Dragon's movement was as big as ever, rampaging like a roar, and as he snapped down a forest tree, he turned his body toward the lake.

Ray saw the Snake Dragon move and decided he could crush his eyes. And he wraps a flame around his spear and approaches it in an attempt to knock him out before he can escape.

However, the giant snake, which is 20 meters long, cannot be easily approached because it is unscrupulous.

(What to do! Approaching at the right time, or using magic... If you're after certainty, it's a spear attack at the right time...)

Ray was somewhat worried about whether to be prepared to approach or shoot magic from a less risky distance.

Already the fishnet burns out and the snake dragon, scorching the beautiful green scales black, flees jizzily towards the lake.

(I can get away with this. Some risk should have been on the ready side!

Never mind, he stands in front of a snake dragon and waves a spear that wraps the flame around him.

The head and torso of the serpentine dragon are entangled with the remainder of the burning of the fishnet, whose eyes meditate hard.

(Sometimes, you shouldn't be blind because you're hitting a forest tree. And then there's the nasty thing about being able to sense heat with a pit organ like a snake, but that flame should have made that organ stupid too)

Ray hangs the head of the Snake Dragon and sticks out his spear.

Since a giant head as thick as a meter shakes heavily, every spear is likely to be bounced off the moment the poke is put in. He stomps desperately on both feet, sparing him from falling.

We know the Snake Dragon has also been attacked in the head, so he opens his mouth and intimidates him, but he didn't actively try to attack him, he was trying to escape towards the lake.

(The will to fight is lost. Maybe he's after a counterattack, but he also feels weak, so let's make sure he does damage...)

Rather than an attack that hangs on a blow, Ray switches to an attack that is sure to do damage because it can be shallow, and burns it little by little with a flame wrapped around the spear, aiming at a burnt head or a threatening mouth.

Snake dragons didn't accumulate, they try to jump on the rays, but they were losing sight, so they were pointing their attacks in the wrong direction.

I thought it was pretty close to the lake, but still it was still over 300m.

(All right, we can go! I can't seem to move before I escape into the lake)

I don't know if that margin led to alarm or if Snake Dragon's weak appearance was a pseudo, but Snake Dragon has suddenly tried to shake his body wide around his head and blow Ray with his tail.

The motion of that giant appears slow, but with an attack range of more than ten meters in radius, Ray does not escape and is blown a few meters on a hard tail, clashing from his back against a white wood-skinned tree like a birch.

I saw that look, and Ashley said, "Ray!" He came in to help, screaming.

She pulls him away from the snake dragon still wielding her tail.

"Ray, are you okay! Ray!"

"Yes, I'm fine... I'm a little alarmed," she replies weakly to her cry.

Luckily he didn't seem to have a fracture or anything, he hung the magic of healing himself and slowly rose up.

"It's okay. I didn't think you'd make that move..."

Shaking his head gently, he restarts his spear and approaches carefully the snake dragon wrapped around him.

(What do we do? If you stick your body in this position, you'll be waving your tail around. If we stick him right back, can we get out of here? That was surprisingly fast... a meter thick, too thick to jump over... I need to untie it...)

He gives up attacking with a spear, aiming at his face with an arrow of light.

If it hits the outer skin, it does little damage, but if you're lucky enough to put it in your mouth, the damage will go through.

Shooting in a few shots of magic, Snake Dragon hated the attack, untied the tunnel and began to move toward the lake again.

Ray starts spearing at Snake Dragon's face again as he begins to move.

If you attack a few times, you rotate your body just like you did earlier and hang the attack with your tail. But as soon as he sees that the speed of moving forward has dropped, he takes the distance and dodges the attack. And the tail of the serpent dragon, avoided by Ray, only wandered down the tree empty-handed.

Whether Ray's persistent attacks played their part or dozens of wounds all over his body, Snake Dragon finally stops moving as he wraps his stomach around it.

Ray considered the possibility of being a pseudo, approached it carefully, poked a stop blow into Snake Dragon's eyes and took the distance again.

"Did you do it?

Tired of a close fight for a while, Ray looks at Ashley as she spears support her body, which is about to weaken.

She approached me with the look of incredibility, too, and said, "Are you done? I heard."

I'll wait a few minutes, but Snake Dragon has no movement.

Ray approached carefully again, releasing his full thrust and gazing at the snake dragon. There was no movement in that body, and I was relieved that I had finally finished, and I sat down on the spot.

(Speaking of avoidable, I'm mentally tired of hanging out with dangerous opponents for nearly an hour when I eat one shot... I feel considerably less magic for letting the spear wrap a flame around me... I want to go home and get some sleep...)

Ashley couldn't believe at first that he was able to defeat the Snake Dragon.

(Ray is really awesome. Pull enemies out of places they are good at. Crush the enemy's eyes with a trap on it. It was also a measure that would lead to the battle of the army...... is a man in the world named Chicu so familiar with the battle? ……

Ashley returns to me, with rare excitement, lets Ray stand up and hold him.

"Awesome! Ray! I didn't expect you to defeat a third-degree-equivalent demon almost by yourself!

Tired look, but satisfied, Ray exhales.

"I'm tired. Collect the Magic Stone and return to the village."

"Right. Shall we go home?"

Ashley said so, handing Ray the Demonic Crystal Stone she recovered from the Snake Dragon.

A familiar voice hangs upon them as they try to go home to draw their tired bodies.

"I'm still in trouble if you go home."
