Lesson 5: Wills

Deoddard, who confirmed that Stella had left the room, began to speak quietly.

"Ray, you, Ashley. I need to talk to you both. Will you listen to me?"

Ashley, worried, said, "Shouldn't we stay at rest?," said Ray, too,

"Ash is right. I'm just curbing the pain now..."

Deoddard shook his neck sideways laughing. And with a serious look,

"We don't have much time left. Besides, it would be useless for a healer to come. We can still talk now. Just think of it as your last favor."

"Okay. But don't do it as soon as it gets hard."

Ray decided to listen to Deoddard's serious expression at what time.

"I'm sorry. I don't know where to start. Yes, can you tell from the story that Noon started traveling... Noon went up to the service when he was ten years old and became independent when he was thirty. And I took advantage of my independence to marry my wife. My wife's name is Cheryl. Fifteen years younger than Non. I can't say I'm smart, but when I laughed, the flowers seemed to bloom... and when I was new to independence, I struggled, and Cheryl just really struggled. It was about three years ago that I finally thought I could get business on track and leave it to my sons. Cheryl just passed sixty years ago, and now she's talking about relaxing in Aurelia."

Deoddard continues his story with a distant eye as he nostalgic.

"I bought a little house by the sea to make it the final home of Nong and Cheryl. Cheryl would love to. I'm really happy for you. I said we could finally spend some time together... but that happiness only lasts a few months, too. Cheryl's body was corroded by the disease... and Noon asked Aurelia's best healer for help. But the healer looked at Cheryl and shook his neck to the side,” It's too late for your wife. My body is embracing the disease. "I said... I can't believe that word. I really wanted to help Cheryl..."

Ray listened to the story,

(Your body accepted the disease? Is it the same story I asked Mr. Estelle before, that even if he loses his arm, he can play it if his body doesn't admit it? If you have cancer or something, and you take it for granted that you have a lesion, does that mean you can't cure it with healing magic?

Deoddard's confession continued while he was thinking.

"... Non decided Aurelia's healer's arm was bad. I was wondering if Luke, who sells the miracle of God, could treat it. Non persuaded Cheryl, who spoke of wanting to die in Aurelia, to head to Paxlumen, the sacred capital of Lukes, by sea... the ship's journey went well. But Cheryl's weak body was strained considerably... and still managed to get to Paxlumen. Then I sprinkled gold on the golden worshippers of Light Divinity. In just about two weeks, I sprinkled about 500,000 C (krone) and finally got to meet the priest known as the Cardinal..."

The Rays hear an amount of 500,000 C and take a breath.

(Half a million C! A 500 million yen donation if made into a Japanese yen... it's a prayer doctrine like the Inch Religion...)

"In just five minutes, you were given only five minutes to see each other. Non appealed to the Cardinal in tears. How much I love my wife and how much I want to help...... Five minutes of my promise have passed and the Cardinal has promised me that he will introduce me to the most skilled healer in light divinity. After I left the Cardinal's room, the bishop who gave me the guidance implicitly told me that if I wanted to be examined immediately, I needed to step in further. Non immediately dropped in 100,000 C... two days later I was able to meet a healer..."

Deoddard gives an angry look.

"... the healer didn't even try to treat Cheryl by saying it was too late! Non asked the healer to follow him. He asked me to help his wife...... that healer is not virtuous enough to perform the miracle of God. I thought I might be able to do something with more virtue... yes! They still tried to take the money! Non's, no, I left you all wanting to save your loved ones as food!

Deoddard, when he says so in an excited mood, makes his breath rough. Ray drinks water to calm him down.

"I'm sorry. I got a little excited... and I found it useless to rely on light godliness... at that time, Cheryl was already in pretty bad shape. Undesirable to return to Aurelia at the earliest... Non regretted it. I was wondering what a waste of my precious time with my wife... I don't need money or anything. I thought so many times that you would give me back my lost time..."

There are zero tears in Deoddard's eyes.

"Cheryl took his breath away in about three weeks after that. I only know Noh, in Paxlumen... Cheryl's death made Noh desperate. You despaired of everything in the world. I don't remember why I thought that anymore. Then, after seeing those less fortunate than himself, Non thought he would go to Cheryl... and go to the auction of slaves. That's how I met Stella..."

Make sure Stella isn't back and keep talking.

"I told you, Ashley, when I bought Stella out, did you know that, Ray?

When Ray snorts, Deodard snorts back, too.

"Stella was not chosen as the slave unit of the Beast Man. Didn't you wonder? For two years now, Stella has been the only escort for most of her life. My strength is almost the same when I was auctioned off and now. Why is Stella fighting each other with mercenaries like you and Ray?"

Ashley nods loudly.

"That's what I thought when I paired up. With all these arms, why?"

"The slave trader told me that Stella was a training unit, and the slave trader said" inside, "but that she was the owner of one or two arms in which to fight. Another reason they put me up for sale, yes, because they saw me as a slave who couldn't take orders."

Ray remembered what Stella usually looked like and thought it was strange.

"As far as Stella's concerned, I don't think so."

"This is also what the slave traders told us. I think I told him that slaves sold at auctions before would be targeted for training. When Stella was fourteen, not the year before she was sold, a man who grew up in the same house was auctioned off. And they sold it."

Deodard gets a spicy look.

"He's been turned inside Stella as a" target. "And the best user in the house, Stella, gave the order to stab him in the face. Unfortunately, the man is Stella's brother..."

Ray had even forgotten to breathe and listened. Ashley is staring at a point on the wall and putting her arms together.

"... Stella said she was close to the man, her real brother. And Stella said she couldn't execute the order. No matter how many times the leader inside whipped me, I couldn't kill the man. The man saw Stella and lost her own life... Stella was put up for sale a year later as a half-baker unable to carry out her orders. All who participated in auctions other than Non were aware of this fact. So Stella is going to sell out..."

Deoddard hangs up his words here and stares at the two of them.

"Ray, you, Ashley. Stella is sweet. I have no family or friends now. I don't even know anyone I can count on. It may be a mistake to ask the two of you not long after you meet to do this. But there are only two of us who can ask... No, if Noh asks, someone will take his place. Maybe a man named Morkley in this city. Still want to entrust the two of you with that girl..."

Talking so far, Deoddard seems to have run out of sperm and roots, slowly closing his eyes.

"Mr. Deoddard. I'm talking about Mr. Stella, but I can't decide right now. If we're talking about becoming friends, I can snort right away... Ash, I want to hear your opinion later..."

Ray said so to squeeze it out, Ashley also said,

"Right. Talks like this don't come to an immediate conclusion. Lord Deoddard, I'm sorry, but I need time to think."

"Hmm. I thought you guys would say that. That's why I want to entrust you guys... a little tired. Let me rest..."

Deoddard fell asleep quietly.

After a while, Stella came back.

Ray and Ashley left Stella to see her and went down to the dining room to pick up breakfast.

Ask for breakfast for three and digestible items for Deodard to be transported to the room and back to the room.

Returning to the room, he lowers his hips to the sofa in the living room with no docility or force.

"What about Ash? I'm talking about Mr. Stella."

"Right. I deserve sympathy, but honestly, I don't think it's a question of how we can do this. If you're going to be traveling with Periclitle, Doctus and Aurelia, you can't afford just the two of us. Lord Stella's arm does stand. But other things are at stake... the possibility of her making a big mistake is in denial."

"Right. Well, I guess I'd be the same if I told you that... that being said, it's only been ten days since I met Mr. Deoddard. And yet, I don't know why, but I'm dying to ask you a favor. That's strange."

"Right. I thought the same thing. I wonder if it's a charm, and for some reason I have something to attract. Maybe that's what it's like to be a big businessman..."

The two were eating the breakfast delivered, inconclusive.

After another thirty minutes or so, the town healer arrived.

I would examine Deoddard, but all I said was that I still couldn't apply my hand. On his way home, he showed interest in Ray's, painkiller magic, but heard he was using the magic of the dark attribute, and gave up and left that it was not available to him.

(You can't do it because you're a healer, because you're an anti-attribute of light attributes, dark attributes... you can't use healing magic and anesthetic magic too much for a toy)

And around 10 a.m., Morkley, head of the Cloik branch of the Deodard Chamber of Commerce, let her breathe out and came into the room.

"Shh, excuse me! Ha, ha, big husband, I asked if Master Loris Deoddard would be lying down, but ha-ha, I'm pretty sure it's here. Ha ha."

Morkley was a little guy about forty years ago who was about to lose his mind, and Ray, to his impenetrable appearance, thought he was the owner of a small store rather than the branch manager of a major chamber of commerce.

"Mr. Deoddard is now asleep. I'm late, but I've been asked to escort you, Ray Arklight. Next door is Ashley Markat."

Ray talks slowly trying to calm him down.

"My name is Dunstan Morkley and I am the head of the Deodard Chamber of Commerce Cloik Branch. May I see the Big Master?

It feels pretty chopped up, reluctantly, but I've offered to see him.

"Okay. I'll let you through."

The three enter Deodard's sleeping room.

Deoddard woke up to the signs,

"Morkley? Long time no see. How many years?"

"It's been four years. Big Sir... It's been a really long time..."

Morkley looked at Deoddard and almost cried out on the spot, but was desperately enduring.

"What's the matter? Oh, it's not because of Non's letter. I'm sorry, I just got that letter... Stella, this is Lord Morkley. Say hello."

Stella gets up from the chair, says, "It's Stella," and after a small bow, she sits in the chair like nothing happened and starts nursing.

Deoddard smiled bitterly,

"It was Stella in the letter. Ray, you in the back, Ashley, did you hear your name?

"Yes, earlier. Sir, are you all right?

"Not so far. Ray, you're the one who took the pain. I haven't had a clear head in a long time because of it. But how long will it last? Maybe there's a mountain around here tonight. Ha ha!

"Oh well... the story that was written in the letter is true... to me, if there is anything I can do... well, anything... please order me..."

Morkley talks to Deoddard in tears.

"Ray, you, Ashley, Stella. I'm sorry, but I was wondering if you could leave me alone with Morkley. What, it'll be done in a minute. Not enough."

Stella was reluctant to leave, but Deoddard ordered her to leave, leaving the bedroom.

Inside the bedroom, Deoddard was talking to Morkley.

"As the letter says, Noon's life will end here. Morkley, do me a favor. Cheryl's magic crystal stone is in the bag that Nong is wearing. When Non dies, will you send the Non's Demon Crystal Stone to Aurelia along with Cheryl's Demon Crystal Stone? And I want you to build two graves on a hill with sea views..."

Morkley snorts in tears, over and over again.

"And then, about Stella earlier. Stella is going to leave it to you guys, but if they say no, will you take care of her... what she did to me saved her? If she hadn't been here the last two years, she'd just sink into sorrow..."

Thereafter, Deoddard gives detailed instructions in order to entrust Morkley with the aftermath. And finally,

"I'm sorry, Morkley. For Non, he was lucky to finish raw in the land. There's a trusted man named you who dies in the land. I'll take care of it, but thank you. Say hello to your sons..."

"Oh, no happier for me if I can reward you at all for the Big Master...... I'll take care of the rest. Ugh..."

Morkley cried out after saying so.

"As always, it's tearful, ho ho ho... I don't think you're going to be a merchant that can get this far..."

Deoddard was starting to tell Morkley memorabilia.

After enough, Morkley shows up from his bedroom and invites the three of them inside, "My big husband is calling for you," he said.

When we gather around Deoddard's bed,

"I left everything to Morkley after Noon died. This man, even if he looks like this, is the general manager of the northern region of our Chamber of Commerce. I can count on you."

Did Morkley talk to Deoddard and get back on his feet? "" Even if it looks like this, "it doesn't. Big Sir," he said lightly enough to slap him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sure you'll arrange to keep the mess from happening when Nong dies. Don't worry."

Deoddard said he was tired of talking or he would sleep a little, and meditated his eyes.

Next to it, Stella sat, and the other three left the bedroom.

Morkley told Ray and Ashley,

"Lady Ray, Lady Ashley, the Great Husband likes you so much. Ray, in particular, thanked me for relieving the pain."

Ray questioned Morkley, who listened to Morkley and spoke courteously to one mercenary.

"May I ask what Mr. Deoddard has told you? It's just a mercenary to me or Ashley. Your chamber of commerce is quite a big store, isn't it, Mr. Deodard? Isn't there any reason to talk to us like that?

"I can't tell you everything until the Big Master travels. But the Big Master told me that you two had a great trip and it was fun. He said it's been the most fun of the last two years..."

Ray wasn't convinced, but from Morkley, who seems to have a strong mouth, he gives up saying he can't talk any more.

"Okay. We had fun, too. But the way we shake ourselves, we decide. I can't promise that it will always be in line with Mr. Deoddard's thoughts."

"Yes, I know that."

Morkley answers that with a smile, but soon reminds me of my beloved Deoddard and makes me look lonely.

Even in the afternoon, Deodard's condition remains the same, accompanied by alternation.

The magic of the anesthesia that Ray hung on the way broke, and he hung the magic again about twice.

Once, I also tried hanging the healing magic, but it still didn't work. But the magic of anesthesia could be hung without as much difficulty as the first time.

(Is it a question of how to convey the image to the Spirit? I used a lot of magic the first time, but not so much the second time. Maybe the Spirit of Darkness was in trouble too because he tried to take only pain for the first time. It didn't really work, so I imagined the anesthesia might have worked...)

He wondered if it was a matter of imagination.

(Then can't you ask the Spirit of Light to treat you... but I don't know what's wrong, and I don't know how to cure you, so that's hard... If you were a doctor, you could also cut the affected area with surgery and then cure it by hanging healing magic... I didn't even know that I was just a high school student...)

Think about being desperate and not being able to treat it, but no good ideas come to mind at all.

(In the end, can we just take the pain! What's the magic for! Wouldn't magic be easy to cure! Why are you so helpless...... damn!

He was wrapped up in helplessness and cursing himself for not being able to do anything in his heart.

Ashley gently holds his hand in frustration.

"You're doing well. It took away the pain of Lord Deodard, who seemed to suffer so much. I'm doing things that no other healer can do."

Ray felt her mind strain just a little lighter on her words.

Deoddard kept sleeping even at dinner. The Rays hadn't noticed, but Deoddard hadn't been able to get any sleep in the last few days because of the pain.

Let Stella, who doesn't want to leave Deoddard's former place, eat and, again, watch Deoddard for the four of us.

Around 8 p.m., Deoddard woke up. And turn your neck and look around.

"Ko, where are we? Well, it was the city of Croix..."

That way of speaking was a substitute for before and for a youthful way of speaking. And he doesn't notice the four people trying to speak up, and he keeps talking.

"I was dreaming. When I lived with Cheryl. Yes, not long after independence, when the business was going well, when I decided to hide..."

And I finally noticed the four of them and started talking to them.

"Non lived enough. Let the long-lived elves tell you what they're talking about, but the more satisfactory they were, the more they lived. You don't know yet. But I don't think it's time for people to live. I was wondering how satisfied I was when I welcomed you to death... Ray, it's really good to see you at the end. I feel like it's been a long time since I've slept in peace..."

It was felt by the four that the fire of Deoddard's life was about to go out.

But I couldn't do anything about it, and I knew I had to watch.

"Stella, you served me well for two years. From now on, you have to live for yourself. You don't know now, but look for it. You've been really good with me... Stella, can you hold Noon's hand..."

Stella held his hand. The face remained the usual faceless, but there were tears in its eyes.

And then the tears go away.

She noticed that and looked strange.

"I'm really tired... Ray, I wanted to go all the way to you, Ashley, and Aurelia, but I don't think I can. One day, when I go to Aurelia..."

Deoddard's consciousness was beginning to cloud.

Ray kept hanging his healing magic as he screamed Deoddard's name.

"Mr. Deoddard! Good luck! It will definitely heal. I will heal! …"

"Ray, that's enough... Stella, hands..."

Deoddard loses consciousness and quietly takes his breath away when the date changes.

While Stella stroked my head sitting beside me.
