Lesson 37: Reconnaissance Row

The next day, under a thin cloudy sky, the three of them, Ray, Alberic and Stella, were riding horses, heading east.

From Chulock to the east it is a coniferous forest, with beastly streets continuing through its forests.

It will be explained from Alberic that the forest will run out once it is about five kilometers east, so it will go north from there.

"It's okay. I have good eyes, and Stella has good ears. If you don't let your opponent take the lead, you can escape. Worst case scenario, Ray, I hope you can do it with your magic."

"Please don't make it easy on me. You can't use yesterday's magic in today's weather."

With that said, Ray didn't feel so dangerous. It's floating, but because I know Alberic's skill is loose.

(If it's Mr. Alberic's arm, we can shoot him before he even comes near us in the Augustus. Besides, my magic would be quite effective if I were given time. Even if they get close, if you're with these two, if you're not in Mr. Hamish's (monster) class, you can handle it...)

In the eastern forest there were many large trees - large trees over fifty m high - like ezomatsu and violet trees with pointy leaves. As a result, the surface does not reach much sunlight and is quite dim.

(That's a deep forest. Little people's hands are in it. I don't see many signs of animals, and that sounds creepy......)

As Ray had felt, we could not hear birds in the woods, and all we could hear was the sound of the wind rocking the trees, except the sound of a capocapo with their own horse's hooves.

Hang for about two hours, through the woods, a deep valley appears in front of you.

It is about fifty meters wide and likely to be more than a hundred meters deep, flowing from the northeast towards the southwest.

The streets were along the western side of the valley and stretched northeast.

(Deep forest on the west side. To the east is the valley. If they attack us from the woods, there's no escape. The woods are going to run out soon, but I'd like to get out to a big place soon)

As we go north, the forest gradually drifts away from the valley. And instead of the forest, it turned into a wasteland where shrubs and grass grew neglected. In the wasteland, by the way, large rocks roll, and on the ground there are many pointed stones made of broken rocks.

(Nice view, but it's also a cold landscape here. Black rocks are gobbling, and grass and trees are poor ministers. Were there any places like this in the mountains of Scotland? Don't feel like you've seen it on the internet...)

Sometimes, we get off the horse and check for footprints, etc., but instead of demons, we didn't even find traces of animals.

Two hours after starting northward, the sun was rising to Jomtien illuminating through the clouds.

The three of them have a great view and cheek the lunch they brought.

While eating lunch, Ray confirms to Alberic his plans for the rest of this.

"There was nothing there. So, what do you do after this?

"Right. Ray, I wonder if you could go home to Chulock alone from here. I need you to report to Hamish that there are no abnormalities so far. Stella continues her reconnaissance as she bypasses that forest with me. So, please."

"Are you alone... Roger that. If you're from here, it's the main road, and you won't get lost. Can I just tell the captain there's no abnormality?

"That's fine. Sooo......"

That's when Stella has blocked Alberic's words.

"It's dangerous. Master Ray, what are you going to do alone? If it's a report, I'll go. Let me go."

"No, you can't. Or can't you hear my orders to be commander (...)?

"Ray, keep your mouth shut," Ray said as he tried to pinch his mouth, sharply stabbed the nail.

"So, what about Stella? Listen to my orders, Ray, or I'll protect you."

Stella stares at Alberic.

(This guy is trying me. Give priority to Master Ray's ”life” or to yesterday's ”promise”. I did make a promise yesterday. But that forest feels dangerous. There was no trace, but there's something. That's something this guy should be feeling, too. If I were here, Master Ray would never be late. But Master Ray isn't very good at reading signs. If they ambush me...... but if I don't listen to this guy here, I won't be able to be with you two. I don't like that. What should I do...)

Seeing Stella troubled, Ray finally understood Hamish and Alberic's purpose.

(I'm trying to see if Stella can really listen to orders other than ours. Sure, as a keeper of the regiment, I know you want to eliminate the danger, but suddenly you don't have to make this situation...)

Think that far and realize there is.

(Thanks to Hull yesterday, I had an atmosphere that seemed to get me accepted again. But if you make the same mistake on your return trip, you'll never trust me again. Then let us think for sure now that there will be no fatal problems. Did you think that far...)

Ray stares into Alberic's eyes.

Alberic stares back into its eyes and smiles at Nicole, but Ray didn't know its true intentions.

"Stella, I don't have much time, but what's the conclusion?

Stella stared at Ray, desperately thinking.

(Considering Master Ray, I can't let him go alone. But then, Master Ray (this way) shouldn't laugh at me. What should I do... Lady Ray (this way) said they want us to believe in ourselves. You two believed me. I believe you two, too, Ray)

"I will obey Master Alberic. I believe in Ray."

"Yes. Mr. Ray, I wonder if you'll return with care. There's something in that forest, so be very vigilant."

"Oh really?! I had no idea..."

"Me and Stella, we didn't even know what was out there, but there's just something definitely out there. Isn't that right?

"Yes, I don't think it's a big demon like an ogre or a demon dog, but I felt murderous, watching from afar and trying to strike me if there was a gap"

Ray was told that the two men with high enemy abilities were in danger.

(I wonder what it is? But if I don't go home alone here, it's not for Stella. Unless even a large group of augs come along, we'll figure it out)

Ray breaks up with the two of them and goes back the way he came.

Dropping that off.

"It's really good, let me go alone"

Stella stares at Alberic with a cold look she'll never show Ray.

"Yes, but if anything happens to Master Ray, I will never forgive you. I can't win now, but I will definitely kill you"

Alberic pretends to be frightened with a faint face.

"Don't be scared. It's okay, Ray. You can do it. If you fight Ash too, you'll lose if you don't believe him as much as you do now."

Stella doesn't understand what they're saying,

"Am I against Master Ashley? Lose? What is it about?

"I thought you'd already noticed, but I wonder if it wasn't. Well, no, forget about that one. Well, we're leaving too."

to Stella, who still crosses the horse with a strange face,

"Well, from here on out, keep your mind tighter than ever. Ray, I sent you home because it's more dangerous this way. Think of it as a real reconnaissance mission."

Alberic's face looks serious sometime, Stella nods loudly and shakes off her clutter.

(Now is not the time to think about you two. Remember when you were in there. There are enemies around. Find the enemy...)

I told myself, like self-implication, to be vigilant around me.

Ray, who broke up with Alberic and the others, crosses his beloved horse and takes his original path.

"Were you aware, Traveller?

His beloved horse traveler, bluffing his nose.

"You noticed... I'm the only one who didn't... well, I'm not good at it. Experience and qualities are likely to say things, especially when it comes to enemies..."

Loneliness and pre-departure threats make him move on with his horse, whining to himself.

The outbound journey took time, as it proceeded looking for footprints and other traces, but the return journey arrived in front of the forest in an hour, just to proceed.

"Well, what's coming out? Will there be ghosts or snakes? No, we talked about no ghosts."

Hold the spear in your right hand, guarding your surroundings, and proceed with the horse.

I didn't feel it when the three of us were there, but the whole forest comes through with a hint of disgust like it's hostile to him.

(My neck feels chilly. Is this a killer? I also feel a little different...... but someone is watching me. Where are you? I don't want you to come out, but I don't like people who don't know where they are...)

Proceed carefully through the woods.

Sometimes, he sends his gaze around with a chirp, listening to the sound of the stops around him.

(Speaking of which, this is the first time I've been in the woods alone. Ash was always there for me. I didn't think one person was this careful......)

It was going to the deepest part of the forest in about an hour.

I feel like I heard a gasp on the left, and I look over at you as a freak.

At that moment, I saw a black arrow coming towards his eyes.

(What!)

He turns away from his body in a daze, avoiding the arrow.

(What was there? I didn't know. And what's that black arrow?

Again, a black arrow turned to him.

However, a mere attack with no surprise effect could easily be avoided, and he was able to ascertain the position of the enemy attacking him. The enemy was lurking in the grass of a descendant about thirty meters away, sniping at him.

"Who! Come out!

With that said, he shoots an arrow of light into the enemy's lurking grass.

An arrow of light pierces the grass, but on the contrary a black arrow has been shot back.

The arrow was not aimed at him, but at the horse.

He rushes to strike him off with a spear, but the arrow slips through his spear and pierces the horse's rear leg.

The horse stood by the pain and he was desperately caught not to be shaken down.

"I'll cure you soon. Calm down!"

Travellers hide behind trees as they draw their hind legs to the words.

"Shit! Magic...... sorry. I'm alarmed..."

That's right, he hangs healing magic on the back leg of his beloved horse, slaps him in the neck and calms him down.

"Stay hidden here. I'm gonna take him down."

When Ray said so, he jumped out of the shade of a tree and shouted at his enemies.

"If you use magic over there, I'll let you use it for real!

(If only there was one enemy. But if there's more than one, it's bad. Taunt and locate or broil... If you're hiding in the grass, I'll use a flaming storm (Firestorm). forest fires are scary, but if you put them out later with water attribute magic, it's fine)

He hides behind trees and creates images of flaming storms.

In about ten seconds you work out your magic and carefully aim near the grass where your enemies were lurking.

When his hand is pointed at the grass, a vortex of flames gushes about five meters in diameter and five meters in height.

Still, the enemy doesn't come out of the spot.

He slowly moved the whirlpool of flames.

When I blurted, I heard the grass burning, and the white smoke rose, but from where the vortex of flames passed, the flames never kept rising.

Moving for about five seconds, two black arrows were released towards him.

(I finally found it. Minimum of two. The shade of that tree and its grass......)

Cancel the flame storm and switch to a light crossbow.

(Shoot one at a time, and if they fight back, shoot another. This should hit you)

Towards two goals - shade of a tree twenty meters away and grass thirty meters away - shoot one arrow of light at a time.

As he expected, there was an immediate counterattack, and he grinned, pointing at the shady enemy of the tree and shooting in an arrow of light with a tracking function.

The arrow of light bypasses the tree and goes for an invisible enemy.

(I can't see it, it's almost yammering, but right behind the tree, if you shoot in about fifty cm tall, you'll hit it somewhere)

In the meantime, too, a black arrow was shot in from the grass, but he had decided to take it down one by one.

Gaa from the shade of a tree! screams.

(Yo! Grass next. This one shoots five in a row...... go!

In about fifteen seconds, he completes the crossbow of light again, shooting arrows of light continuously at enemies who repeat a monotonous attack.

The enemies who were in the grass marvel at that number and get up and start fleeing.

The figure was about the size of a child, with small wings on his back and black, thin tails.

(Demons? Demons? Either way. knock it down and take the body to the fort and you'll see)

The raised enemy was spreading small wings and floating a few meters above.

Seeing its face, there were caught eyes, a big mouth, and two small horns just above his forehead.

(It's the kind of demon I painted. I'm talking about being more human if you're a demon, so you can make a decision with the devil)

The devil thought he could have dodged the arrows of light by fleeing over it, with an ugly marginal grin.

But when Ray's arrow of emitted light changes orbit and he sees it coming towards him, his face is drawn, he panics and he panics and hesitates.

In the end, the demon pierced by five arrows of light shortly after escaping fell straight to the ground.

(Tracking magic's pretty good too... well, I don't know the state of the guy in the shade of the tree, but only two come out so far. Is that all for sure?

He slowly walks toward the other enemy.

As Ray approached, the black arrow struck again.

That speed is slower than a normal arrow and it's not that hard to avoid.

(Depressing, but not hard to avoid at this speed. Is this arrow dark attribute magic? Then I should be able to use it. Let's use it...... when Mr. Valeria spreads it, he may be pissed, but if you say you used it to lose the demon's will, you'll be fine......)

He lets the Spirit of Darkness make the arrows of darkness and releases them towards enemies hidden in the shadow of trees.

Shooting in the same orbit as earlier made me scream again.

He didn't miss that gap, he was running at full speed, poking spears at enemies hiding behind trees.

There was a little devil with wings down there, just like the earlier devil.

"You know what I'm talking about?"

That's what I call it, but it seems to be out of time already, and it doesn't work at all.

Just in case, poke around the heart with a spear and stab a stop.

Bouncing with Bikun, but without screaming or anything, he still seemed magically mortally wounded.

(You're a demon to see. There were two of them but do you want to take them both home...)

Ray also retrieved the demon he shot down and headed to the fort.

Afterwards, he did not feel the eyes of the surveillance and arrived safely in the village of Turok at 3 p.m.

He didn't realize, but he had a pair of red eyes to look at him.

(Knight using the magic of light and darkness. Unlike those who call themselves apostles of the God of Light (Lucidus). What, what does that have to do with that prophecy?... I think I need to report it to the witch...)

The figure of the one who was staring at Ray looked like a girl, but had the same wings and tail as the earlier demon. And the girl quietly disappeared into the back of the woods.

The Alberics, who broke up with Ray, advance their horses around the edge of the woods.

The wasteland was gradually growing in grass and, after an hour, had completely turned into a meadow.

Moving further west, there was a slice of smoke as thin as a sumptuous over the woods.

"Stella, can you see that one?

When Stella nods,

"I'll leave the horse here. Follow me."

The two get off their horses and go in slipping into the woods.

About five hundred meters down the woods, the two of them lay low on the ground at the same time without any signal.

"There's something ahead. I'll take a detour."

When Alberic says that in a whisper, Stella nods silently and quietly.

As the two progressed further, there was a circular square about fifty metres in diameter, made by felling trees.

There were a few creatures where the ogre looked like little demons, and in the center of the square, an altar-like wooden platform was created and a small fire was set ablaze.

"What is it? That altar. Well, can we think about that later? In the meantime, I found evidence that there are demons here, so let's go back to the report."

"Dear Alberic, Give me that..."

He pulled off the alberic trying to return and stared at the square with a stunned look.

There stood the Great Ghost tribe who was directing the Auga and the woman who looked beautiful - a beautiful woman as big as a human woman, with big wings on her back.

Those two seem to be arguing about something, and it also looks like a woman with wings is blaming her for a big gesture.

(Is that the Winged Demon Clan? I've never seen this before...... this could be a big deal)

Alberic leaves the spot immediately and goes outside the woods.

In a plundering voice, he said, "Stella, what did you think?," she asked, "was Stella nervous too,

"I've heard the story, but I've never seen a Winged Demon tribe before. I've heard that the Winged Demons can magically detect signs. If you weren't excited, you might have been found."

"In the meantime, I'm getting out of here. It's dangerous to break through the woods, so keep going, bypass the woods and go back to the fort. It's gonna be a night, but it's gonna be okay."

Stella nodded, reassured that Ray wasn't on the spot.

(If Master Ray was here, we would have found him. I see what Alberic meant when he said this one was more dangerous. Besides, if it was a night trip, I would have needed a light if it wasn't for Master Alberic the Elf and me the Beast Man......)

The two of them drive their horses in a leaning day.

Several times, beasts such as wolves have approached, but are repelled by Alberic arrows.

Five hours later, it was totally dark at 8pm. The two arrived safely in the village of Turok.
