Trinitas Mundus

Episode 82: Valeria Harvey

October 21st, 5pm.

Upon receiving Ashley and Stella's gear in the weapons store district, the Rays were ready to leave.

"Now you can leave tomorrow morning. We're going to keep the weather, and we'll figure it out."

"Right..."

Ashley looks around with a slightly lonely face.

(It's Ash's city of birth, and I guess I miss him?

"You can always come home. 'Cause it's not like you're never coming back."

"Oh, I know that... in this world (...), many travelers will never be able to come back... unlike your world (...)"

Hearing the words, Ray realizes that he was considering the safe world he was in as a standard.

(... I forgot. I tell you I've had dangerous eyes many times before I even got here... don't feel like I was in Japan as soon as I got off guard)

Stella, who was listening to the two behind her, feels uncomfortable with the conversation between them.

(Master Ashley used the word world (...). I wonder what that means?

She hadn't been heard saying that Ray came from another world, and she couldn't measure the meaning of the conversation between the two of them.

(Again, going in between you two...... but I should have been prepared for that. But......)

Ray and Ashley were walking forward without noticing how Stella was doing behind them.

There was a celebration and a farewell party for the Rays at the Mercenary Corps headquarters in Markat.

By the time the Rays returned, they had already shown excitement, and mercenaries were drinking at tables lined up in the courtyard, as they did when they first visited here three and a half months ago.

Hamish is already in his seat, too, and he laughs "it's late" when he sees the three of them.

(I miss you. It reminds me of our welcoming party... a lot of people weren't at work before, so the numbers are about the same, but I don't see a lot of faces. If you think you'll never see those people again, you'll miss them as soon as possible...)

The Rays are guided to Hamish's table, where food and liquor are brought.

Hamish said, "Are you ready?," he told Ashley, posing as a careless tone.

"Me and Stella's gear also made it. You can leave at any time."

Hamish clouds his expression a little on the words.

(I knew you missed me, and Mr. Hamish... he's just one family, and you can't help it)

A cheerful voice hangs from Hamish as he watches the two of them with a blurred look.

"You're headed to Periclitle, aren't you? Is that what this is about?

"What? Yes. So far, I just want to see it called the City of Adventurers. There's nothing special about that."

"Well... then meet a man named Randall Ogburn. He's my old friend."

Hamish's story was that Randall Ogburn was a former mercenary who said he was in charge of city security and defense in Periclittle, and until about a decade ago, he was one of those people who worked with him several times.

"What are you going to do ahead of Periclitle? Kaum - a kingdom to the south of Periclitle - or, Doctus - an academic city to the west of Periclitle - but also go?

"So far, I'd like to go to Doctus and Aurelia, but not yet..."

(Periclitle has something to hook up with. I'd like to find out about this phenomenon in Doctus, whether it's this reincarnation or tripping. Aurelia would also like to visit the tomb of Mr. Deoddard - Stella's former husband and great merchant of Aurelia...)

The feast lasts until late at night.

Along the way, Gareth and his captains joined the conversation and talked to Hal the Fifth Squad, all in a bright atmosphere, but the mercenaries could not easily sever the loss of their companions, and words of remembrance for the dead had been raised there.

In the meantime, Valeria shows up in front of the three looking pretty drunk.

(That's unusual. I can't believe Valeria from the same ”Wobbami" as Ash is so drunk...)

Ray feels uncomfortable with what she looks like.

(Well, there was a lot of damage to Squad Five. He's dead over ten people, and he's the captain, so I guess it's extra hard...)

Valeria has spoken with a bright look, as if to ignore his thoughts like that.

"Ah, you haven't had much to drink. It makes sense to celebrate your departure today. Drink more!

Ray and Ashley look at each other unexpectedly at how Valeria looks even more cheerful than usual.

Ashley thinks in Valeria's mind just like Ray, and the words don't come out.

Ignoring those two, Valeria keeps talking cheerfully.

"By the way, what are the three of you going to do now? Is the inn a room for three? Ray, you deal with the two of us on one side, you know, hey, what do you say?

To the teasing words of Valeria, Ray turns red and becomes cramped with answers.

"Oh, no... I'm an Ash..."

"Ah, well, I don't feel sorry for Stella. What about Ash? Ray, can I hold Stella?

Ashley's doesn't move at all into Valeria's teasing,

"I don't mind. But Ray's" best ”is me. I can't give this away."

The teased Valeria rounds her eyes.

"Ho, are you serious? Even if a man you like holds another woman?

The words, for a moment, I imagine how they look, and the words pack.

"Ho, I mean it! No, maybe, I think it's okay..."

Stella can't keep up with the development of the story.

(Master Ray holds me? Will Master Ashley admit it? What's it like in the back of this chest... what?

Unaware of Stella's thoughts, Ray holds Ashley's shoulder.

"It's okay. I want to be with Ash the whole time. Ash chose me too..."

After Ray answers that, he laughs niggly and starts fighting back.

"What about Mr. Valeria, by the way? What are you going to do about Mr. Hamish?

"What are you talking about? So, what do you say, Captain?

The upset Valeria was swimming her eyes and trying to escape the scene.

"Mr. Hamish, isn't it time to remarry? What do you think of Ash?

Acknowledging Ray's intentions, Ashley gets on with the story as she tries to push Valeria's back, which she admires with her sister.

"Right. It has been eighteen years since my mother died. The burden of me is gone. I want your father to be happy."

"That's right. Besides, if you're Mr. Valeria, don't you feel safe because Ash knows you well and you're close?

Valeria remains solidified and listens to the conversation between the two.

"Sister Val knows her father's heart, and she can join us on the battlefield. As far as I'm concerned, I can't resist calling my sister Val” stepmother. "

Valeria's voice turns to the word.

"Hiya, mother-in-law!? Oh, Ash, make fun of me..."

"I think it suits you...... okay, keep it up, let's get you to Mr. Hamish!

Ray and Ashley take Valeria's arm and head to the table with Hamish.

Valeria resists weakly, but is taken before Hamish as she is drawn by the two of them.

Hamish looked strangely at the three men in arms,

"What's up? Valeria got drunk?

"Mr. Hamish, what do you think of Mr. Valeria?

It was Hamish, who couldn't keep up with the topic for a moment, but soon he tells the story of his work at his usual pace.

"Oh, you're one of my proud men. I haven't had my sword arm yet, but the command of the troops is good..."

To Hamish, who praised him as a subordinate, Ray hurriedly revises the story.

"That's not what I meant, as a woman person, I mean whether or not!

Hamish can't keep up with the development of the story.

"As a woman? What's that supposed to mean?

Mercenaries other than Ray and Ashley are also stunned by Hamish's bluntness.

"Mr. Valeria likes Mr. Hamish! So, what do you think, Mr. Hamish?

Hamish looks at Valeria's face, then at the faces of the mercenaries around him. Hamish also finally realizes what Ray is trying to say to the raw warm gaze around him.

"You're not making fun of me. I'm sorry, I've never seen it like that before. Number one, Valeria's over fifteen years younger than me. Like me..."

"Well, now." That's it. "Look at it with your eyes! Confess as grandly as Mr. Valeria is standing on the battlefield!

Valeria wandered over Ray's sword screen,

"And it's not like this. I'm sorry to bother you, Captain."

She bowed her head to Hamish and was about to leave the spot.

"Valeria, you really think of me... you think of me?

From behind her, Hamish's voice hangs.

"I still can't forget my late wife (Abby)... is that okay?

Valeria looks back slowly.

She stares at him not with a drunken and floating face, but with a fortitude as if heading to the battlefield.

"I don't mind. I admire you, Captain. I don't know much about your late wife, but I'm not going to lose."

Mercenaries around them start making noise about that word.

"Captain Valeria has proposed to the captain!

"Spring is here for our captain too! Guys! Hooray!

The Rays get on with that noise, and together we go on and on and on.

Hamish and Valeria were staring at each other without worrying about the noise around them.

"That's really good. Valeria."

"Yes, Captain...... Mr. Hamish"

The mercenaries around them look up to each other even more.

Ray and Ashley both go off that wheel.

"It was really good, wasn't it, Ash?

"Oh, Sister Val loved your father as much as I could tell. And I want my father to be happy. Besides, it's hard for the two of you to see your buddies depressed. With this in mind, if this place brightens up..."

The two slowly tilted their cups as they saw Valeria's happy face and a little lit Hamish, and the mercenaries watching it with a smile.

The Rays had sometimes left and had returned to their rooms before the date had changed, but the banquets of the other mercenaries continued until the date had changed and the sky began to whiten.

There were many drunken mercenaries sleeping in the courtyard, and few remained conscious by dawn at night. But one of the mercenaries awake realizes something's wrong with the city.

"Hey, isn't the city making a scene? Looks like the Knights are running around.

The words make other mercenaries care about what's going on around them.

Normally, it's before the morning coaching of the mercenaries or the preparation of the merchants begins, and it's quiet enough time to hear people speak with precision, but you can hear uninterrupted sounds of a knight running around the city with a horse, a hoof called a doddle, or a metal armor called a chatter that comes out when a fully armed soldier runs.

"Is something wrong? An ambush of the enemy?

"This is the king's capital. There will be no surprise raids on anything at all. Is it a bandit or a fire?"

The mercenaries who were awake also rested their hands drinking into the white air and went back to the room, feeling as if it were a natural dissolution.

October 22nd, 8am.

Last night, Ray, who drank too much, finally woke up after the sun was high.

(I haven't had a hangover in a long time... I don't know if I have the ability to learn, I...)

Hang the magic of detoxification as usual and go wash your face.

A peek into the courtyard reminded me of a night when there was remnants of last night's banquet and it was fun.

(If only people didn't die, mercenary operations would be fine. This sense of unity or companionship is very cozy. But I guess I can't...)

Passing the courtyard, Ashley and Stella, who had already finished breakfast, were preparing to leave.

"Is the hangover okay? You can sleep a little longer."

Ashley has a cheerful face as usual and cares about his health.

Ray laughs and says, "It's okay,"

(Still ”Wow Bummi," Ash said. I drank all that and there's nothing left at all)

He broke up with the two of them and headed to the dining room for breakfast.

Slowly breakfast as he rubbed the stomach he could bring, a young mercenary jumped in.

"Arwell Kilgaroho has escaped! I'm talking about the city now being sober with the Knights."

The words of the mercenary are hung over and the blue-faced mercenaries are also colored.

"Escape! Is that true, it is!

"Yeah, they officially announced it by the Knights. The Kilgaroho family, the Itchy Knight, guided everything..."

Ray was uncomfortable with the story.

(Arwell escapes? That's also the Kilgaroho family itchy knight...... who's in what way, do that?

And all the castle gates have strengthened the interrogation, and we are also told that the knights have begun their search, mainly in the nearby city.

(That's awkward. The examination of the castle gate delays departure. That's fine, but can you leave the King's Capital by the end of the day?

Ray flattened his meal and walked fast under the Ashleys.

Going to the Ashleys, they seemed to have heard the story too, staring at him with an anxious face.

"You think we can leave by the end of the day?

To Ashley's question, Ray shakes his neck to the side.

"I don't know unless you go, but you better think there's some confusion going on at the castle gate. Besides, the streets and nearby cities will be on guard, and I think it's difficult to make the itinerary as planned."

Did she think the same thing, "Right," she mutters small.

9: 00 am.

Say goodbye to Hamish and the others, head to the south castle gate, but soon meet the queue waiting for questioning.

The matrix exceeded one km and was barely moving.

"Maybe we should give up. Shall we go back?

Ashley and Stella also nod quickly and return to the headquarters of the Mercenary Corps of Markat again.

Along the way, Ray was aware of the frustration of the people going to the city.

(The impossibility of passing through the castle gate means that the merchants won't be able to work, and the city shouldn't be vibrant either, as supplies won't come in. I don't know how frustrating it is...)

The Rays, back at headquarters, were relaxing and killing time without doing so, but became anxious for the city's atmosphere to gradually turn into something sword-soaked.

(I hope nothing keeps happening... if anything happens, the Knights soldiers are paying off, and can we put away the confusion? ……

His anxiety was allayed.
