Trinitas Mundus

Episode XVII: Ambush: Middle Story

After shooting down the wing demon who came to scout, Ashley and other investigative teams were further west through the woods.

The degree of fatigue is worse than usual as the investigation team, whose fatigue from yesterday remains accumulated, proceeds frightened by enemy attacks through the hard-to-walk woods. Ginny, a particularly physically inferior mage, and Frank, a heavily armed man, were in a state where walking was finally easy.

Ashley had just gone on for about an hour and ordered a small pause.

(Even if we keep going through the woods, we will be unable to move due to fatigue by night. at your peril. But maybe you should get back on the road.)

She calls Ray and tells him what she thinks. Ray looked around at the other members,

"Right. If we stay like this, we're going to be camping in the woods... and fortunately, our enemies are losing sight of us. It might be a good idea to go back on the road and ambush the other way around."

Ashley nodded small and decided to suggest to the leaders of each party, Aldo, Boris and Hazel, to get back on the road.

"The city of Thornbrough is ten kilometers away. It's impossible to get to the city while it's still in the woods."

Ashley gets down to business confirming the three of them snort.

"Back on the road from here. Proceed alert to enemy ambushes, but if you find them, strike them out of here."

Aldo first agrees with the feeling he said he had no choice, and Boris doesn't reveal his attitude as to whether he still thinks about it. Hazel was negative about taking the offense from here.

"Whether you say you're going to strike out, or just the power I just heard, you're going to have to be prepared for a lot of damage. If we find the enemy, shouldn't we take a detour?

"Then we shall have an evening in the woods. Of course, if there's a big difference in power, we'll bypass it, but at least if you have a chance of an ambush, you'd better set it up before you're too tired to move."

Boris nods at it and agrees with Ashley, "I think I'm still jilli poor, too," he said.

Hazel seemed unconvinced, but was in favor of getting back on the road.

At the end of the small pause, Ashley tells everyone to get back on the road.

"Back on the road from here. If we find an ambush of the enemy, we could strike it out of here. As much as you can, don't make a sound! Then we're leaving!

A relief voice leaks into the word back on the road, but I hear it could strike out, and a few give me a discouraged look.

I was able to get back on the road in an hour or so, but the day was already leaning heavily and it was around 3pm.

The remaining itinerary is about 10 km. It was quite unlikely that we would be able to reach the city while it was bright without a battle with our enemies.

Stella and Milene were put out for scouts, and the main unit of the investigation team cautiously went down the road.

Varma of the Moon Demon tribe moved about five km west of where he was ambushing and was about seven km east of the city of Thornbrough.

She was anxious that the wing demon she had unleashed to the north would not return as she waited for the place.

(Why don't you go back? Maybe the magician shot you down... This one has ten grey monkeys (Gray Apes), five rock pigs (Rockboa), and eight harpies. What the hell is a wing demon putting out for reconnaissance... if only that magician could do something about it, he would have enough power to wipe it all out...)

Grey Apes (Gray Apes) are about 1 and 5 meters long and have thick arms and sharp nails equivalent to the sixth grade of a weapon. He is a very troublesome enemy for archers and mages because of his agile movements and the 3D movement with which he skillfully uses tree branches, turning around on the sides and behind him.

A rock pig (rock bore) is a pig with a hard outer skin like a passing rock of its name, and its movements are monotonous, but a forceful progression that has caused its defenses to say things is very dangerous. The front is particularly hard and the arrows even play the gray sword, so only effective damage can be done by attacking from side to side while pushing forward. For this reason, in places like the woods where movement is restricted, it is possible to take a step backwards with considerable skill "who".

Varma was thinking of a maneuver that would push rock pigs through and break the line and attack them from the sides and behind with gray monkeys and harpies.

(No matter how powerful that magician's magic is, rock hog progression shouldn't stop easily. And then if you bring it into a mixed war, it's easy to wipe it all out...)

While I thought so, I had a little anxiety.

The unknown location of the enemy and the further loss of the Wing Demon halved his ability to oppose them.

(I can't help but get run into the woods. But unless I'm ready for the night in the woods, I'll be sure to get back on the road someday. If you count backwards from time and ambush around here, it should be time to go through here... and it hurt to lose sight of you. If this were to happen, I would have brought someone...)

She hid the demons in service behind the woods and herself in a critical position where she could keep an eye on the road.

(I'm only worried about the wind direction, but so far, this one's under the wind. No matter how much, even that Beastman's daughter can't find it if she's hiding in this place. All you have to do is be careful not to rush me......)

Around 4pm when the sun leaned heavily.

Stella was approaching the point where Varma was ambushing.

She was finding traces of rock hogs walking in the woods and was convinced they were ambushing her somewhere.

(Footprints are for five heads. There are few traces of gray monkeys... as Ashley and Ray said, you seem to be ambushing us down the road. Hide demons in the woods too... now it's hard to find enemies first. Maybe I should go report it to Master Ashley for once...)

She tells Milene, the elf who is lying next to her, what she thinks.

"... I think we should go report on the story of the rock pig's footprint and how to do the scouts ahead"

Milene also listens to Stella and nods, "Right."

"There's a chance we could have an ambush, and it's going to be dark all at once now... let's go back once"

The two headed back towards the main unit at 500m rear.

With Stella back, Ashley tightens her expression to see if she has discovered the enemy, but she is told that it is going to be difficult to discover the enemy first from Stella, and that she wants instructions on how to oppose him afterwards because it will soon be dark.

Ashley groans, "Well......" and asks Ray for his opinion.

"What do you think? Stella's right. If you're lurking in the woods, it's hard to find this one first."

Ray nodded, "Right," too.

"You should give up the ambush. Then we will overcome our enemies..."

"It's going to be hard to get past the enemy. Even if this one is meant to hide well, if the wolves are used, this one will be easily discovered. Besides, if we fight in the dark, we're overwhelmingly at a disadvantage."

Listening to Ashley's opinion, Ray looks at the other members one by one.

"I think so, too. Camping in the woods is out of the question. As far as everyone's tired, if you get attacked during the camp, it won't be long before you fight back, because you'll have a lot of damage. I think it's safer with the night stellars in the time ahead... even if you can't do it, you should move on."

Ray puts Stella about ten meters ahead and suggests that the main unit move on behind it.

Both Ashley and Stella nodded, and Ashley was telling everyone about the policy.

"Apparently, the enemy is hiding in the woods. Stop putting the scouts ahead and move them all around. I don't know where the enemy will come from. Don't be alarmed. Then we leave."

Even high-level adventurers such as Aldo and Boris had a small mouth count, whether they were already quite fatigued.

Ray told Stella, "I'm sorry I'm the most tired. I just have to ask Stella..." he bows his head.

She said, "It's okay. Because the training inside was tougher to this extent," he replies with a smile.

Ray was thinking about the current power and tactics.

(The only people who can move properly are me, Ash, and Stella. Even Mr. Aldo and Mr. Boris must be moving slowly. We need to stop the rock pig from advancing first. Then yes. Me and Ash, and Mr. Frank in heavy gear, and then Mr. Aldo's party magician Chester, and Ryan in Halvard are avant-garde. Grey monkeys attack from the top or from the side. I have to deal with Stella and the other swordsmiths who have speed. Archers and sorcerers can only be a restraint......)

To Ashley, who leads the way, Ray explains his thoughts.

"I'll magically handle the rock pig's rampage. Ash and I, Mr. Frank, Mr. Chester and Ryan deal with rock hogs, and the grey monkeys deal with lightly dressed swordsmiths around Stella. I think the bow is good enough to be used for towing because it doesn't work well for fast gray monkeys or rock hogs with hard skin"

Ashley thought of Ray's proposal in her head,

"How do we stop rock hogs with magic? Wouldn't stop with the rock spear I used before, would I?

"I'm going to use the“ muddy ”magic I used to practice near the city of Morton. Rock hogs don't work small circles, so they should take their legs off with mud even if they're not that big..."

"I'm not really sure," Ray concludes, laughing lightly and adding. And lurk your voice,

"I think the gray monkeys are tougher than that. If you're not tired, even Mr Aldo and Mr Boris will be able to fight enough...... perhaps you can't fight properly except Stella. So we need to take the rock hog down fast and go back for cover...... what do you think Ash?

Ashley clouds her expression at the words.

"You sure do. It may be difficult to protect Stella. And..."

Ashley makes it look uncommon and spicy.

"And?"

"... it's not always just the rock hog and the gray monkey that the enemy is. I guess there's not always just one wing demon. The enemy knows the power of this battle. I would be particularly wary of your magic. Then..."

Where Ashley said so much, Stella's warning cry echoes in the woods, which began to dim.

"Enemy attack! Five rock pigs from the front left hand side! Many gray monkeys on trees!

In front of Stella there was a rock pig running down the grass and advancing, and a grey monkey showing himself from time to time as he rocked the branches of the great tree.
