Lesson Six: The Village of Leriche

Late in the night of January 17, 326 Calendar of Tria.

Varma Niska, of the Moon Demon Nation, made a major detour through the camp of the Demon Pursuit Team led by Hamish Markat, heading towards the village of Leriche, the stronghold of Sokius - the Land of the Demon Nation.

I was wary of magic and bow attacks, and while flying the peripheral critical, I was wondering how to request rescue from Leriche.

(If I can persuade Commander Einar to do something about it. But it also makes sense what Yesperi says. I've heard Einar is distrustful of us...)

A follow-on unit of Western dispatchers, consisting of about a thousand ghosts, was standing by in the village of Leriche. Its commander, Einar Slangs of the Little Ghost Nation, is an ancient strong man who survived the great invasion nineteen years ago.

It's just that he had a distrust of the wing demon system headed by the Moon Demons. At the time of the Great Invasion nineteen years ago, it was caused by a wing demon squad pulled up just before the Battle of Acree Chain.

The Winged Demons also had a say. We lost a lot of their family, the little devil Imp, during the attack on Fort Toa, and we couldn't replenish it in time. In the first place, we lost the little devil because we let the fragile little devil take part in the reckless operation of attaching it to the fort, and we were wearing it out to the point of almost total annihilation because the ghosts insisted hard. Due to the loss of the little demon to be a shield, the Winged Demons were unwilling to go any further with the reckless operation and withdrew on the grounds of replenishing their families.

It is said that if the Winged Demons had participated in the Battle of Acree Chain, the trend in the Battle would have changed dramatically. The demonic side was militarily superior, and yet the coalition comprising the Royal Kaum Army, the Royal Lax Army, and the Fortis Army, the defensive side, was dispersed in three places. If there had been a Winged Demon tribe, reconnaissance from above could have been carried out, and the coalition's placement would have been exposed before the battle. In that case, it would be easy to read the Allied side's intention to siege from the three sides, and it is likely that the warrior Demonic side would have won. In fact, despite being besieged by the three sides, the Demonic side was always fighting in their favor. Although there are no ifs (if) in the battle, it was thought likely that the Demon side would have won even if only a few of the Winged Demons remained.

Varma knew this story, too, but she only heard about the wing demon side. She thought it was a narrow amount that the ghosts were still distrustful of themselves.

(I can't believe I still have the roots for nineteen years ago... but it's a pain in the ass. I can't go into reliche for not convincing Einar. Plus if you're guzzling, reinforcements might come from Fort Toa. We have to persuade them at all costs......)

When the date changed and it was January 18th, Varma arrived in the village of Leriche.

The village of Leriche was originally created by fugitives from the west - criminals, cannibals, etc. - where about a thousand people lived, such as humans, beasts, etc. About fifty years ago, the demons discovered and used the village of Leriche as a base, but initially the inhabitants of Leriche were afraid that it would be ravaged by the demons.

But the Devil's side reached out the other way, without killing them.

Until then, by referring to the village of the fugitives, there was a shortage of food, material and human resources, and living the day was life to the fullest, but the situation was greatly improved by the supply of food and supplies free of charge by the demonic side. As a result, the inhabitants of Leriche, who initially doubted, have also gradually opened their hearts to the Demonic Nation and are now a full Sochius - meaning comrade - people.

Thus the Demons succeeded in taking in the village of Leriche.

There is a reason why the Demons did not carry out occupation by force. They were also the ones who were driven out of the West, sympathetic to them from the beginning. The demons saw their ancestors in the form of the fugitives.

Even more importantly, Sochius originally lived only in the Winged Demon and Ghost Demon tribes, and there were no humans or beasts at all. It was therefore very difficult to obtain information on Aquila's western side. Because it is difficult to infiltrate the city for a long period of time in the characteristic-faced ghost tribe, the wing demon tribe, until then the gathering of information had only been carried out with the wing demon tribe infiltrating at the stake of their lives. The demons who took in the village of Leriche now have access to quality information, both in terms of quality and quantity.

Either way, the village of Leriche is a rare place where humans, beasts and ghosts coexist.

Sometimes said just in the mountains of the Aquila Mountains, it was a village with low food productivity and poverty, but it was able to live a much richer life than before because it became the stronghold of the demonic western invasion over the past few decades.

Varma arrived in Leriche late at night and soon headed for the biggest building in the village. There was a Sochius flag - designed to mimic the moon and axe - flying there, where it was the command of the successor troops.

She demanded an interview with Einar, saying she had urgent requirements. In contrast, the captain of the Little Ghost tribe, who had been entrusted with night security, refuses without regard.

"I asked about the fire, what can I do for you? If you want to tell the students, you can't take after Master Slangs."

Varma gets angry that it's disrespectful to the Lunar Demons, the privileged class.

"We must speak directly to our commander, Lord Einar Slangs! If it's too late here, it's not just your neck! All the future of our people of Sochius hangs!

The captain of the Little Ghost clan is also slightly frightened by Varma's voice, which includes anger. However, he further attempted to argue that it was related to the sales voucher while still under pressure.

But the door opens before he can argue.

"The Moon Demon... Lord Varma Niska?

A small but sharp eyed little ghost tribe man groaned as he looked up at Varma.

"Lord Einar Slangs? I'm Varma Niska, but I didn't know you.

She responded with a slightly strange look, but went on to say something to get right to the point.

"This is not the time. I need to talk to you as soon as possible. I'm sorry about the night, but could you spare me some time?"

Varma bows her head to Einar. Einar gave the look of surprise for a moment. Because I didn't think it was possible for a prized Moon Demon spellman to bow his head to himself, who was just some of the captains of the Ghosts, whatever his chief class was.

He nods small and invites him into the building.

Still, were you on duty, the fireplace stays on fire, and Varma, who went inside the room, is going to be relieved of that warmth.

"And what's the emergency?

Einar asked single-handedly.

"Your son, the son of the moon, has arrived nearby..."

Varma will talk about having a son of the moon about twenty kilometers west of here, that Western dispatchers tore in Periclitle, that enemy troops are ambushing on the way out, and that some of the troops that are ambushing have defeated Western dispatchers.

Einar does not know that the Western contingent led by Orvo Kronvar has been wiped out, and is stunned by the fact.

"You've wiped out that great army... I can't believe it. Lord Orvo is a man of great combat and reputation as the best of the ghost tribe, even as a commander by his martial name. It was defeated by less than the same number of humans... unbelievable"

"It is also best that Lord Einar seems so. I can't believe it, either."

It took about a few seconds for Einar to settle down.

"Uhm. Lord Varma has no reason to lie. Either way, if the allies return, we'll know the truth."

When I say that to myself, I say, "You think your son will come near you?," he questioned.

Varma is relieved to get down to business and explains their situation.

"Thirteen great ghost tribes guarded by Lord Orvo's right arm, Lord Yesperi Mayuri..."

Explain the severe depletion of the Great Ghosts, and the harsh health of Luna.

"... the enemy has a rare magician, the" White Mage ”. I need help right away."

Varma bows her head again.

But Einar's reaction was not fragrant.

"Even if they say rescue, if we move, the location of Leriche here will be known to the enemy. If we keep this place a secret, we have to keep moving into the West."

Varma is going to be furious with Einar's words, but he discourages anger and argues.

"The entry of the Son of the Moon into Sochius is our sorrow! This should be a common thought, the people of all Sochius, regardless of winged demons, ghosts. If we don't move now, we'll lose your child!

Einar was also not moved by Varma's desperate appeal.

Repeating enough push questions made it noisy outside the door.

Outside the door he said, "Who do you think I am! I hear a yell," Now Master Slangs... "and a desperately stopping voice wears it.

But soon the door opened rampantly and a young man of the Great Ghost tribe jumped in over three meters tall.

"Lord Einar! I hear you got a messenger from the west!

Einar gets a bitter, bitter look, and complains, "Come on, can you remember what you call courtesy?"

The Great Ghost youth have no way of caring at all.

"Not even now. Brother, did you get any information on the western contingent? So we have to hold a military conference soon?

It was Nestri, Olvo Kronvar's brother, who came in.

"They'll wait a while now. I'm just asking what's going on."

Nestri ignores an enal like that and speaks to Varma. Believing in her beloved brother's victory, she does not doubt it, and stuffs her with an eye full of anticipation as to what victory she can hear.

Varma was bewildered by this development, but considered that in a cautious Einar, he decided to burn this young man, who seemed simple.

She gave a slightly sunken look,

"Lord Orvo was killed in battle. Western dispatchers are almost wiped out..."

"Don't lie to me!

Nestri screams to block her story.

Varma, without moving on to it,

"Let me tell you something now. Lord Orvo Kronvar died in battle. Western dispatchers are almost wiped out..."

Nestri said, "It's a lie!," he exclaims, holding his head.

Varma looks at the way it is and measures the time.

(If you tell me that Orvo's revenge is right around the corner just a little bit calmer, you're going to move on your own. This one is quicker than moving Einar......)

"Lord Orvo was a victorious present. But the enemy magician has set a cowardly trap..."

Varma spoke emotionally about the Periclitle offensive. Nestri was listening to the story, shaking in anger. And Varma added at the end:

"... The White Mage, the enemy who fought Lord Orvo, is just around the corner. We have a formation about ten kilometers west of here to ambush us."

The moment I heard that word, I said, "Lord Einar, why can't you get in formation!" Nestri exclaims. Einar repeated the explanation he gave her after staring at Varma.

"It's easy to argue with the enemy. But if they find out about Leriche here, they'll be involved in future actions."

But Nestri didn't get the word.

"If you have enemies right there, only destroy them! Even more so if it's my brother's revenge! If Lord Einar doesn't move, we'll go to avenge him alone!

Einar said, "Wait! We can't allow you to leave! Obey my orders! shouting," but the excited Nestri has no ear to listen to.

"I don't mind! You can behead me later or whatever! But I'm going to take my brother's revenge!

Shouting like that, he left Einar's room in a rambling foothold.

The remaining Einar stared at Varma,

"Something extra... I'll report this to the capital Zalesche."

Zaleshe is the capital of the ghost tribe and the second city of Sochius.

Varma bowed her head small and said, "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were as short minded as that," he said with an excuse not even in his heart. After this, I thought it was not a good idea to have a bad relationship with Einar in order to get into Leriche.

Einar immediately realizes her intentions, chipping her tongue, but reconsiders that doing something about the rampant Nestri is more prerequisite than being done herself. He then called the guard and gave instructions to prepare for his departure.

Varma will make plans for the future after confirming that Nestri has made his way to the Grand Ghost quarters.

(Nestri will be heading west soon though. Einar is not stupid either, so he should go after Nestri without being mean. At that rate, we'll be ready in an hour or so, so we'll be at the White Mages by dawn tomorrow. All I do is watch how the white magicians move...)

Varma ordered the wing demon to see Nestri go out, and he himself ascended to the freezing night sky.
