Trinitas Mundus

Episode 5: Approaching

Tria calendar year 326, on the evening of January 17.

Varma Niska, of the Moon Demon Nation, was about 10 km west of where the Rays Demon Pursuit Team waited. There is no expression on her face, only fatigue comes out colorful. And that was not only her, but also the Great Ghost Warriors around.

Though the threat from demons was reduced by bypassing the foothills of the Aquila Mountains, where demons frequently appeared, frequent reconnaissance was needed for the proximity to the streets.

Varma was not only frequently checking his path with the only remaining body wing demon, he was flying around in search of a safe place to be a camp.

The weather hasn't been as bad in the past few days, but she was physically and mentally tired from flying around almost all day.

(I can't deny the possibility that the enemy is ahead... but you just can't get tired. I want to get to Leriche soon......)

The village of Leriche, the encroachment base of the demonic tribe, is approximately twenty km away.

But if this neighborhood is closest to Fort Toa and the enemy is waiting, Varma and the Great Ghost Commander, Yesperi Mayuri, were in agreement around here.

Varma made a proposal to Yesperi.

"It's about 20 km from here to Leriche. I'd be there in less than an hour. I'm going to get some backup from over there."

"That would be good," Yesperi agrees. But I immediately speak up about my concerns.

"It was Lord Einar Slangs of the Little Ghost clan who partitioned the reliche, wasn't it? I think it might be subtle to pick you up."

Yesperi's concern is that Einar Slangs, the Little Ghost Operator (Tamer), will not send a rescue because he will not be identified as Leriche's location. Einar is an ancient strongman who participated in the Great Invasion operation nineteen years ago - a battle that broke through Fort Toa and was defeated in the Acree Chain - but he was always opposed to the proposed reinforcement of the Devil's power by the Lunar Demon clan's claimed Lunar Son. He was able to make enough invasion operations with his current power, claiming ambush operations by ghost-centric troops rather than relying on the uncertain presence of "Son of the Moon”. Furthermore, we have clearly expressed our opposition to this manoeuvre to recapture the Son of the Moon, and even though we have recaptured the Son of the Moon, which is a grief for the Demons, it is possible that we will not heed the voice of Varma, who has lost many of his compatriots.

"... There is a Nestri, but I was wondering if Orvo would probably be drastically elevated if he found out he was killed..."

By Nestri he means the Great Ghost Warrior, Nestri Kronvar. He hits the youngest brother of Orvo Kronvar, the Western dispatcher commander of Sokius - the name of the Demonic Nation.

Nestri has a reputation for being more rigid than Orvo, but he was never assigned to the Western contingent because he lacked thought simply by relying on martial arts. However, he was short minded and shallow Nestri, but had close respect for his brother Orvo for worship. For that matter, if my proud brother finds out he's killed him, he might forget me and kill Varma.

"... With Lord Einar, we can suppress Master Nestri, but still go to the rescue..."

Varma was often silent,

"Right. But I'll just go. If you fly in the night, you'll be back by morning."

When Varma said so, he headed under Luna, son of the moon.

"Tomorrow we will be in our sphere of power. But this is a dangerous land again, so I'm going to call for reinforcements."

Luna was listening to Varma with an apathetic look. But the heart was complicated.

(Running away or dying won't come true. Yet tomorrow I will be in the land of the Demons...... Saint "Hijiri" I was hoping that Ray might help me...... always I am. Just get someone to help you. Eight years ago... you haven't grown at all. My heart stayed the same when I was a high school student in Japan......)

I think that in a self-derisive way, but still, if I don't do something about it, I get in the mood.

(With all this deep in the woods, it's impossible for even the Saint to find me. What I can do. What's that?... Saint said the Demons needed me, yes, to use me for some ritual. Then you can interrupt that ritual. You need to know what ritual to interrupt. Anyway, if we don't get Varma's credit, we won't be talking about it...)

Luna thought that far and spoke to Varma trying to resign to her.

"Be careful... I only have you on my side..."

Varma gives a slightly stunned look. Because the son of the moon, who had so stubbornly refused to talk, showed himself.

Varma kneels before Luna, who looks anxious, and holds both hands.

"I will definitely come back. You can rest on a warm sleeping table in a little while. Just a little more patience."

Luna smiled just a little and nodded small.

After sunset, Varma rose to the sky with the Wingman.

Even the air shivered slightly into the freezing cold air, but he was also satisfied that he had been thrown into the crisp, sober air.

Until yesterday, I guess I didn't think so, but it was a great pleasure to have been introduced to her worshipping moon son.

(Your son told me... you finally made sense of my feelings. Now we're done...)

For the Moon Demons, the Son of the Moon means the use of God. That was closer to imprinted brainwashing than faith was when I was a child. Now she has no doubt at all, but if a sober third party saw someone who also went through the dark attribute magic, it might have had a different feeling.

Varma herself, a user of dark attribute magic and famous for psychological attacks such as the puppet Kutsuku and Brainwash, could not now consider herself close to it.

Ten minutes later, Varma, going through the night sky, found a pine light beneath her eyes.

That was the lights in the camp of the Demonic Pursuit Team led by Hamish Markat.

She anticipated this situation and was not stunned, but still discouraged.

(You were still turning your hand. I thought a white magician would be possible... but fewer than I thought. Maybe a hundred to two hundred... First you should tell Yesperi not to fail to be vigilant...)

Varma stopped heading to Leriche once and went back to Luna.

At that time, Varma didn't notice, but there were some things she was aware of.

It was Luke's Beastman slaves Uno and Stella.

Not many days had passed since the full moon, and the night sky of that day was lit by the moonlight.

Uno, who was vigilant around him, and Stella, who was standing in a sleepless position with Ray and Ashley, noticed a shadow floating in the night sky.

"Master Ray. The Wingman is flying!

Stella issued a warning to scream at Ray, who was warming up when the fire hit her.

Soon Ray and Ashley stared at Stella's fingering sky, but they couldn't see Varma and the others flying far into their eyes as they stared at the bonfire.

Ray launches the magic of a flare bullet quickly.

"God of light (Lucidus), who commands all the light of the world. Give me the power to shine. I will not give you the power of my life. Full, light! Illuminating Flare of Lighting!

The dazzling light of Ray's launched illuminates the snow-covered mountain forest.

But Varma and the Wingman had already begun to turn back and were quite far from the camp. For this reason, they could not be captured in Ray's eyes, which only had the vision of a permanent person.

Uno, who, like Stella, found the figure of Varma and the Winged Demon, rushed over to Ray.

It is after Stella has already issued a warning, and Uno kneels one knee in front of Ray, who stares desperately into the sky.

"Ocho, I'll follow you back with Nuebe. If you need anything, give your orders to Seyce and Dies."

Before Ray answered, Uno took two of his men and disappeared into the darkness.

Ray said, "Don't push it!," he shouted, instructing Ashley to report to the Hamish that the Winged Demons and Moon Demons were on the move.

Ashley nods at it and quickly rushes into the tent of Hamish and the others.

Stella had no choice but to see the Moon Demons fly away and herself teething unable to do anything.

(If it was just a distance away, I could have shot it off with Lady Ray's magic... I let him get away before I could do anything...)

Ray was still staring desperately, but the Varma's appearance was after he disappeared across the ridge.

■ ■ ■

Three black shadows run on pure white canvases illuminated by moonlight.

Uno, the beast man of the black wolf, was running at an unthinkable rate through the woods dyed white with snow.

They operated in luxes with warm climates not very close to the snow, but skilfully used ropes, jumping across tree branches like we did, without bypassing the valleys that were handicapped. The figure was like a three-headed black beast.

But with their leg power, they were not far enough to reach the speed of the flying Moon Demons.

Soft fresh snow strained their legs, though traveling far above that of the constant. In addition to his inborn qualities, his breath rose less than enough, even in freezing cold air, sweating like a waterfall, even though he was a trained beast man.

Going over the sky, Varma runs through the moon-night sky without noticing the unos who blocked the signs. Uno was desperately chasing after him but still thinking about Varma's behavior.

(Probably going to find a pursuit team and go back to the son of the moon. If you keep following the Moon Demons, they will guide you to where the Moon Son is. Can we go after him...)

Uno thought that pursuing Varma would lead Ray to the whereabouts of Luna, son of the moon, who aims to rescue him. But we also thought it was possible that we could not chase ourselves through the moon demons flying at speeds of more than fifty km/h and the snowy scaffolding of bad ground.

(I probably didn't notice this one. Then you should fly the shortest distance. Worst case scenario, let Nuebe report the situation and maybe just me and Ocho will be looking for enemies......)

His concern became a real thing, but he discovered the Varma's camp in the exact spot he expected.

■ ■ ■

Varma was surprised by the magic of the suddenly launched flare, but immediately thought there was a ray and plummeted to an altitude that would not be sniped.

(That magic is definitely a white magician. If I'd been flying a little closer...... still, luck would be on my side. We should go back to your son now...)

She concentrated on returning and never noticed the unos running on the ground.

But to go to the unobstructed sky, he pulled Uno and the others apart, and returned just enough.

Seeing Varma back quite a bit earlier than planned, Yesperi was wondering what had happened.

(Lord Varma rushed back. Probably found something before we arrived at Leriche. Possible is a powerful demon or an ambush of enemies......)

He considers the latter likely and gives orders to the warriors under his command to be more vigilant.

And I went to Varma to ask what was going on.

"The ambush of the enemy. There was also a white magician."

Yesperi's expression stifles at the word white magician. Varma continues the conversation without noticing any change in his expression.

"But it doesn't feel as much as I thought. Maybe it's not accurate because I just saw it from afar, but maybe it's a hundred or so from the feel of the tent. Many won't reach two hundred."

"So this is a great opportunity to discuss a white magician."

Varma shook her head, "Wearing," loudly,

"Now it's important to bring your son to Sochius. Besides, you're badly wounded."

Yesperi and the other Great Ghost Warriors had lost two to thirteen on their journey so far, and their family, Auga, had also lost five to twenty-five. As far as the Great Ghost tribe is concerned, it is treated with the healing magic of Varma, but the wounds of the Auga remain intact and are not tactically condoned.

Auga hits the strength of a regular knight for five, and the Great Ghost Warrior is considered to be more than that. If it is in a state of sufficiency, it is capable of adequately countering the strength of about two hundred mercenary subjects, but it is in too bad a state. Further enemies will likely have a powerful sorcerer, a white sorcerer, along with him an awesome swordsman - Hamish Marcut - and an archer using a strong bow - Alberic Auger.

Yesperi insists on defeating his hateful opponent, the White Mage, who took over the venerable Olvo Kronvar, but Varma did not give in.

"We will certainly give priority here to bringing your son to Sochius. Of course, if you join up with reinforcements from Leriche, you can discuss a white magician. But that's after the rendezvous. I can't give this away."

Being admitted conditionally also forced Yesperi to concede.

Varma ascends into the sky, convinced that Yesperi and the others do not pig out, and once again aspire to reliche.

She was driven by a desire to check on the situation of the Demonic Pursuit Corps, but considered that calling for rescue should be a priority, choosing a route that would greatly bypass the camp.

Uno and the others of the Beastly Slave after Varma discover where the Great Ghosts lurk an hour later.

However, in addition to thoughts, vigilance is strict, and even the unos, who specialize in scouts, cannot approach easily. He abandoned Luna's rescue on his own and sent Nuebe, his subordinate, to Ray to keep him informed of the situation.

Nuebe returned to the camp after nine and a half hours later.

While breathing on his shoulders, he immediately begins reporting to Ray.

Varma and Wingman of the Moon Demons flew away east, most of the orgasms were scratched, and so on will be reported.

"Lord Luna was strictly guarded and never came true to confirm his appearance. However, since we have confirmed the likelihood of the vehicle and the tent, it is in Uno's view to say that he may be there."

Ray listens to Nuebe's reports and often meditates on his eyes and organizes information.

(It would be reasonable to assume that the Moon Demons and Wing Demons went to Leriche to call for relief. They're checking us out, so there's a good chance our enemies will attack us from the east... but we might be able to reclaim Luna now because the Auga is scratched and the Great Ghost's gear seems to be hurting...)

Ray headed to Hamish's tent to discuss this fact.

"... so now the enemy is thin. The location is also about four hours from here. We should strike out."

Hamish shook his head 'wearing' to Ray's words,

"I can't do it now. If the night is bright and the beast or elf dominates, you can assault at night, but the moonlight alone will not be a battle."

Ray tried to argue, "But..." But Hamish blocks it.

"The enemy is a ghost tribe. However scratched, fighting in the dark is overwhelmingly against this one. You know that, too."

Ray couldn't utter a word. Calmly, it is more impossible than difficult to rely on a few lights to march in this rugged snowy mountain. Even if it is the Mercenary Corps of Mercenaries (Red Arms) that is said to be elite.

Reason complains that way, but it's not easy to separate emotions.

(Me and Stella, later Mr. Zenga - Beast Man, Captain of 2nd Squad - gather the beast men and we'll figure it out... now we're fighting for a moment...)

Ashley, who was beside us, puts her hand on his shoulder when he tries to say that he will hang the assault on his own.

"Don't think about trying to get there on your own, etc. How can you not save Luna?"

Seeing her serious, and worrying look at him, Ray also regains his composure.

"Okay...... you're right about Ash and Hamish. Even if it moves now, it's my fault..."

It was then decided not to wait for dawn to turn to the enemy.

Ray didn't say anything to the decision, but his expression had a rushing color on it.
