Shen Feng’s heart surged with excitement. He immediately swam toward the massive shadow.

After arriving in this world, he had heard numerous legends of the ancient wars. In these legends, the only human weapon capable of facing a World Beast head-on was the Super Giant War Armor.

He had previously seen a phantom of the No. 17 Super Giant War Armor, the "Bloody Kraken," in the Fog Sea, but this was the first time he had encountered a real one.

He was filled with anticipation for this weapon, a product of humanity’s immense creativity, unleashed at a moment of life and death for civilization.

Swimming thousands of meters deep beneath the sea was no simple feat. Fortunately, he possessed the Quantum Force Field Core, which allowed him to move with ease.

Moreover, the water here seemed much shallower than in places like the Fog Sea. It was very likely that what lay beneath him was once dry land.

After countless years, the sunken wreckage of warships and World Beasts had long since become natural undersea reefs, attracting a host of marine life.

Shen Feng swam within the beam of light cast by the Energy Concentration Cannon, a mere speck in the vast ocean. Occasionally, some flat, transparent, glowing sea creatures would swim by, cast him a curious glance, and then hastily depart.

The entire seabed was deathly silent. As Shen Feng swept past the warship wreckage, he would occasionally spot skeletons and rusted rank insignias, as if they were silently narrating the tragic scenes of the past.

Most of this warship wreckage was severely damaged; much of it had been blown to pieces, with only some components remaining.

Shen Feng swam onward, occasionally landing on pieces of wreckage to see if there was anything useful, but he ultimately came up empty-handed.

Whether it was electronic equipment or munitions, everything had been too severely corroded by the seawater. The chance of finding something in a condition like that frigate from before was basically zero.

It was a classic case of deceptive distances. The massive shadow had seemed relatively close, but once he started swimming, he realized just how far it was.

Shen Feng continued to swim forward. After covering about half the distance, the scenery before him changed again, sending another shock through him.

The seabed below was no longer just a graveyard of warships and behemoths. Now, skyscrapers began to appear—all manner of dilapidated, crumbling ruins—transforming the vista into that of a dead, submerged city!

The city had been slumbering on the ocean floor for who knows how long. He could even make out the intersecting streets, clogged with the wrecks of cars, and the curtain-wall glass of the skyscrapers, obscured by sand and silt.

The glass on the ruined buildings of this dead city reflected an eerie light under the beam of the Energy Concentration Cannon, creating a magnificent and beautiful mirage, like a luminous forest on the seabed.

Amidst the city ruins, there was also scattered warship wreckage, along with the mountain-like carcasses of several World Beasts that occupied large, derelict city blocks.

Clearly, the city had been submerged first. The brutal battle had then raged on the surface, and the wreckage of warships and carcasses of behemoths had rained down, settling into the drowned city below.

He had been wondering where this city could be, but Shen Feng soon spotted a landmark.

A massive bridge, covered in silt and the remains of marine life.

The Golden Gate Bridge.

To think that after all this, he had ended up in the San Francisco of this Parallel World.

An underwater San Francisco, that is.

Thinking back to how he had fought a World Beast in the San Francisco of his original world before entering the Water World Apocalypse, Shen Feng couldn’t help but sigh. The San Francisco of this mission world was already at the bottom of the sea.

Suddenly, the light from behind him flickered violently. It seemed the energy supply for the oversized searchlight—a modified Energy Concentration Cannon—was unstable and about to die.

Shen Feng quickly turned and swam with all his might toward the massive shadow once more.

The deep sea was far too dark. If the Energy Concentration Cannon went out completely, he wouldn’t be able to see a thing, likely losing his sense of direction toward the shadow.

After another half hour or so, having swum over large swaths of San Francisco’s districts and past an area of destroyed armored vehicles and Tanks, Shen Feng finally arrived before the massive black shadow.

The shadow loomed in an area near downtown San Francisco City, rising from the seabed and stretching up toward the surface, as if about to break through it.

Shen Feng stopped a few hundred meters from the shadow. Finally, by the light of the Energy Concentration Cannon, he could make out its general shape and appearance. A look of excitement flashed in his eyes.

A colossal metal body a thousand meters tall, shaped like an ancient warrior. It had a sword-like crest on its head, arms forged of metal, and four mechanical legs like the body of a horse. Its surface was covered with all sorts of cannon barrels and weapon slots. It was a creation that seemed to belong only in dreams.

It was like a Divine Spirit from human mythology.

On the chest of this massive metal creation were several large, stenciled words and Arabic numerals:

Oglala Mad Horse — 19

This was a Super Giant War Armor!

Shen Feng gazed at the Super Giant War Armor before him, his blood boiling with excitement.

The name of this Super Giant War Armor, Oglala Mad Horse, came from a chief of the Oglala Tribe of the Sioux Race, a native people of North America.

In history, Mad Horse was renowned for his bravery in resisting the encroachment of white settlers in the western part of Eagle Country. His most famous engagement was the Battle of the Little Bighorn River in Montana, where his Indian forces annihilated the army of the American Custer, killing Custer himself. He went on to lead the Indians in several more battles before being assassinated by United States soldiers in 1877.

To name a Super Giant War Armor after such a famously valiant Indian chief clearly indicated that it was built by the former Eagle Country.

In the face of a crisis that threatened the very survival of human civilization, the arrogant white mainstream apparently had no time for discriminating against Indians. Instead, they had propped up Mad Horse as a spiritual totem.

But this spiritual totem was now completely silent.

On the chest of the Oglala Mad Horse Super Giant War Armor was a massive hole, tens of meters wide, that looked as if it had been bored out by a World Beast’s tentacle.

This didn’t even seem to be the fatal wound. Half of the head of this centaur-like Super Giant War Armor was missing. Judging by the wound, it had likely been corroded by some kind of strong acid.

Looking at the rest of the Super Giant War Armor, he saw countless other wounds, large and small. There were over a hundred dents left by the strikes of a World Beast’s tentacles and limbs alone. The shortest of these gashes was dozens of meters long, and several pierced straight through its entire body.

Clearly, this No. 19 War Armor had endured an exceptionally brutal battle before finally sinking to the bottom of the sea, where it now stood like a silent, guarding statue.

Seeing this, Shen Feng swam toward the War Armor’s head. If he wasn’t mistaken, the cockpit should be located there.

’I wonder if this thing was single-pilot or multi-pilot?’

’Or was this armor a war fortress, operated by hundreds or even thousands of soldiers?’

The half-dissolved head of the armor was as large as a building. Shen Feng quickly swam inside and saw its internal structures.

Dense arrays of electronic circuits and wiring filled the space. The design was incredibly complex, but with Jingwei’s help, he could still understand their functions.

Shen Feng soon found a chamber where a hole had been eaten through by acid. He slipped inside and found it was about the size of a small room, its walls covered in various screens and sensors.

Inside a transparent container resembling a bio-nutrient culture tank, a corpse, bloated and pale from soaking, stood upright.

A dense web of wires was wrapped around the corpse, looking like seaweed that had drowned a person.

This was clearly the cockpit of the Oglala Mad Horse, and the pale corpse was, of course, its pilot.

He had no idea what kind of liquid was in the container, but after so much time, the body hadn’t even decomposed.

Judging from the dense array of sensors wrapped around the body, it seemed this War Armor had only a single pilot.

Using the faint light filtering in from outside the cockpit, Shen Feng carefully examined the pilot’s face. He was a pale, blond-haired white man who looked tall and strong. Much of the skin on the corpse’s surface had dissolved, exposing the muscle and fat layers beneath.

Although he had been dead for a long time, the corpse hadn’t decomposed further, thanks to the nourishing properties of the liquid. It almost looked as if it were still alive.

Just as Shen Feng was looking closely, the light from outside flickered violently and then vanished in an instant.

The surroundings were immediately plunged into a pitch-black darkness where he couldn’t even see his hand in front of his face. All light was gone, and he could see almost nothing.

The Energy Concentration Cannon was completely dead.

In the culture tank before him, the corpse’s eyes suddenly glowed with a faint green light, meeting Shen Feng’s gaze in the darkness.
