Tsumi Kake Tensei Ryoushu no Kaikaku

Episode IX: Raids and Interceptors

Village vigilance was on time at all times.

But it's brittle to be guided from the inside.

There were a total of about twenty lords surrounding the village near sunset, all on horseback. I've been waiting for the sun to set to make sure I can't get away with it by boat.

By the time Sania's ears noticed the proximity of the Lords Army, it was too late.

The village was besieged, and when the second bishop, named Geist, urged him to surrender, the intervener, whom he had misled, entered and lined up next door.

Sania screams when she sees it.

"Sharina, what are you doing!?

"─ Everybody, surrender. If you go back to church, the Lord's Army won't be able to help you."

Sharina saw Sania with a sinking look, but persuaded her peers not to answer the question.

Five children from the village line up behind Geist at the same time, as shown. Three children followed when they saw it and realized the disadvantage, and only two showed the will to resist.

"Sania, come here"

Sharina lined up next to Geist invites Sania.

Sania looked to Sharina from the rocks facing the sea.

It is difficult to run horses through highly irregular rocks, and difficult to capture even by the Lords' Army. I am ready to shoot you with a bow, but I have been ordered to avoid worsening my mental state from the village to avoid escape. I have no choice but to entrust the Church with persuasion, but the Lord's Army cannot hide its dissatisfaction with it.

The children on Geist's side are frightened by the Lords' army that killed them, but Sania and the girl next door were resolute.

"I absolutely don't like going back to church. Did you forget it was the church that took the firewood last year?

Stare at Geist with hostility. He flushed it flat.

Stand in front of Geist as Sharina blocks Sania's gaze.

"That's because the believers needed firewood so they wouldn't freeze. If we believe in the Church and pray to God, that will never happen again."

Sharina says the church is not bad, but she continues to persuade without realizing the annoyance that the word holds.

"Besides, Master Sola is a lord's child, isn't she? Without the lord, we wouldn't have lived like that. Many people died because of the lord. Master Sola is a child of his lord, isn't she? Can you forgive me?

I think of the face of a friend who died of poverty within connecting words. I don't know, Sharina was absurd in her voice.

Geist rests his hand on Sharina's shoulder to calm her down. In anticipation of Sharina settling down, he looked back at the Lords Army.

"I'm sorry. I want you to forget what you said earlier."

Criticism of nobility, including pig lords, is not surprising when one's neck flies instantly. Because if you're planning a rebellion, it could be taken.

Fortunately, the Lords keep their mouths shut if they let them grab the money and hold the businesswoman.

Hitting her hand with some bribes, Geist looked at Sharina.

"You can't save that beast boy, apparently."

"Please wait! Sania is not a bad girl. You'll see."

Sharina, blue-faced, defends desperately.

Sania is not a believer in the Church. I mean, it's not enough for Geist to take. If it gets in my way, I'll abandon it lightly and leave it to the Lords Army.

"I don't have much time. No matter what you say to the corrupt. Give it up."

Geist communicates his decision clearly.

Ignoring Sharina, who begs her to reconsider, Geist turns her attention to the girl standing next to Sania.

"I guess I said lulu. Are you hostile to the church, too?

Lulu, who turned thirteen this year, is an older category among the children. You don't pay much attention to appearance, you're flushing red-haired blonde hair back unconstructively.

Geist had guessed in a story from Sharina that she was a daughter who had no charisma to pull others but had a broad horizon when looking at things and a sober opinion.

Most importantly, her voice is low because she doesn't get much understanding from the kids who only have age-appropriate horizons, and it would be useless to persuade the kids the other way around that they should resist the church.

"No hostility"

In a husky voice reminiscent of the boy, Rhulu made a statement that betrayed the expectations around him. Sania shouts a surprise next door.

"No hostility, but we're on Sola's side"

The children sigh at Rhulu's words. Opportunistic, I heard blurry voices.

Geist, however, had greatly increased his appreciation of Rhulu.

If he had declared himself hostile to the Church, it would have been difficult to obtain the protection of a lord who would have avoided unnecessary clashes with the Church if he had just been able to chase him as a dangerous figure, even if he had let him escape on this occasion.

Lulu didn't think that far. It was a statement thinking that complete hostility with the Church would disadvantage Sola.

I felt it was a bit of a waste of talent, but Geist sees it as non-negotiable.

"Oh man, he's a stubborn kid. Gentlemen of the army, please, do as you please later."

When Geist tried to evacuate with the children, suddenly one man came up from the sea to the rocks.

Llulu giggled at the man who appeared from an unexpected place, but lowered his chest when he realized it was Zez. Sania is not surprised because she was listening to the water sounds that draw the waves and swim.

"Oh, what is this?

Zez turned his back on the Sanias and looked around as he scratched his wet head in the sea water. I'm wondering if the kids are on Geist's side.

Upon being informed that the Lords' Army was approaching, Zez had gone outside the village to fetch a pair to use in the fishery instead of weapons. For that reason, I do not know that the children have turned back to the church.

Zez glanced at Lyu as he described the flow in part.

"Mr. Zez, right?

Geist confirms with a smile. He had a thin cold smile like he pulled up from the dark bottom of the water.

"Please don't waste your resistance. Don't let adults see you in front of their children."

Sania, who was holding back next to Zez's right, grips his clothes.

Zez laughed back to reassure him, shifting his gaze to Geist.

"Sure, you can't let a kid see the decency that betrays people's trust."

Geist frowns at Zez for saying it back.

"Don't you see how wonderful it is to work with the Church?

"I'm vulnerable to hate, love women and dream stories. I'm not willing to lend a hand to the Church's ideals."

"You're corrupt. Aren't you human, too"

Geist turned away uncomfortably.

The sun has already set, and darkness is beginning to reach around. The waves sound slight and the tide pulls frightened by the state of the village.

There are ships at the pier near completion, but it is difficult to escape to the sea. Even if we let the boat out, it's Othi who gets swallowed up by the dark and beaten to the rock reef without knowing the direction.

Eight or one, you'll need a role in stopping the Lords against you and letting the others escape.

Zez braced his belly that was his role.

"Run along, Ryu and Sania. Run away and Lady Razette or Sola will strike you in the hand."

Rhulu nods. Sania doubts that she thought she was going to run away with her, but Lew held her head down and didn't open her mouth.

"Bye, Zez."

"Whoa. Be a good lady like Razette."

Unconsciously saying a short farewell, Rhulu pulled Sania's hand hard and ran out.

The Lords get off their horses and run their weapons to the rocks with one hand. Terrible and bad scaffolding, but the boulder should be an insecure Kleinsert territory army or only have plenty of experience. We're taking good distances from each other.

A desperate difference in power and numbers, but Zez intercepts with a twist.

─ ─ Do you jump into the sea if you have to? One in a hundred helps. If he survives, he'll review as many of them as he wants.

With such pale anticipation, Zez smiled softly.
