Chapter 1662: The Princess Consort Approaches
Breakfast finished, Jocelyn Morgan accompanied the King out of the dining room, with Eden and Arthur following on either side.
"Jocelyn, you have nothing to do right now, help me with something," the King said in the hall, addressing everyone present.
Jocelyn Morgan nodded, "Please, go ahead, Your Majesty."
"I have a tin of tea from ’78, perfect to drink now. Take it to Prince Louis." With that, the King casually took the tea tin off the shelf and handed it to Jocelyn Morgan.
She quickly reached out with both hands to take it, "Alright."
Jocelyn Morgan didn’t linger. She feared any unforeseen changes and worried that Eden or Arthur might volunteer for the delivery, so she walked straight out, her pace quick!
Almost without giving Eden and Arthur a chance to react, she was already flying to the palace door with the tea tin in her arms, her silhouette soon disappearing.
Eden glanced at her departing figure and then looked away.
Jocelyn Morgan, cradling the tea tin, stepped toward Louis’s palace. The architecture here exuded a strong exotic feel.
Crossing the lush green lawn, she followed the stone path to the long corridor, where nearby palaces shimmered dazzlingly under the sunlight.
Some castles were surrounded by towering ancient trees, dense with greenery.
Louis’s palace was just a hundred meters ahead, with a spacious front yard and a garden full of various potted plants, lush with foliage, clearly well-tended by the owner.
The palace exterior was also very ornate, truly sculpted, resplendent in gold and jade, yet carrying a historical heft.
It was at this moment that the elegantly dressed Catherine, accompanied by her personal guard Julie, approached head-on.
Jocelyn Morgan’s heart skipped slightly; meeting her gaze, she felt an inexplicable panic but tried hard to appear composed.
Heading towards Prince Louis’s palace?
Catherine’s gaze fell on the tea tin in her hands, then she stopped with Julie, her lips curling into a slight smile, "Miss Morgan, where are you headed?"
Though she already had the answer in her heart.
"By order of the King, delivering tea to Prince Louis," Jocelyn Morgan smiled as she spoke, not concealing anything.
"Oh?" Catherine clearly didn’t quite believe it but continued smiling, "What about Arthur? How come you’re bothered with such a task? Aren’t you a translator?"
"I happen to be free, nothing else on my hands."
At this moment, Arthur, who had been following, quickened his pace upon seeing this, "Greetings, Princess, Captain."
"Arthur," Catherine’s dissatisfied gaze fell on him, reprimanding, "Making Miss Morgan deliver tea? What were you doing?"
Arthur respectfully bowed and reached out to Jocelyn Morgan, "Let me deliver it, Miss Morgan."
"Since it’s a task entrusted to me by the King, I’ve already accepted it and will definitely complete the task diligently." Jocelyn Morgan clutched the tea tin tightly, vigilant against everyone, always wearing a smile, "I’ve come all the way here, and the palace isn’t far now, excuse me, I must be on my way."
Having said this, she walked past Princess Catherine, past Julie, and headed straight towards Prince Louis’s palace!
The food sample must be delivered!
Jocelyn Morgan was indeed slightly flustered because evildoers are bound to feel guilty—it’s inevitable.
Without hearing approaching footsteps, she continued moving forward, sensing fine sweat beads on her forehead, her heartbeat gradually returning to calm.
"Miss Morgan."
At the doorway, she was similarly stopped by the servant.
"Hello, the King sent me to deliver tea to Prince Louis," Jocelyn Morgan spoke softly, "and bring him two words."
