"It’s not impossible," Justin Kingston analyzed. "But I can’t be a hundred percent sure. After all, her temperament is completely opposite to Catherine’s."

"Look into whether Catherine ever did her any favors. Find out the specific web of relations between the two of them," Mia Lane asked him. "Can all that really be checked? Will it be too hard?"

Justin Kingston’s lips lifted slightly. "I’ve already sent people to investigate. There will be results soon." He thought to himself, No wonder she’s my wife, she’s really smart.

Mia Lane finally relaxed. As long as they could find out, it was fine.

When you help someone, you have to see it through. Ian Shelby had just returned to the royal family; they had to clear every obstacle out of his way, purge every malignant tumor in the royal household. That was also something that would benefit all of Lorelei.

They even dared to poison the King—utterly insane! If the country fell into the hands of such people, it would be a tragedy for the common folk.

In less than a minute, Justin Kingston’s phone rang. He took it out, glanced at the caller ID, then answered, listening to the report from the other side—

"Mr. Kingston, Julie was brought into the royal household from Catherine’s maiden family. Julie’s mother was gravely ill back then, and it was Catherine who paid to help treat her. Although they didn’t cure her in the end, Catherine also took care of all the funeral arrangements. Julie’s original family situation was very tragic. She had no father, and her mother was just a sanitation worker."

After hearing all that, Justin Kingston basically understood the relationship between the two.

The other party continued, "Mr. Kingston, Julie has always been utterly loyal to Catherine, seeing her as the closest person she has. In the royal household she’s always protected her. And with the King’s favor toward Catherine, Julie rose with the tide and step by step became captain of the guards. Catherine is genuinely sincere toward her as well."

"Mm." Justin Kingston’s expression stayed calm.

The other party added, "Mr. Kingston, Julie harbors no disloyalty toward the King, and is as loyal to him as she is to Catherine."

If that was the case, then things would be much easier.

"Alright, thank you for your hard work." Justin Kingston hung up, then relayed the contents of the call to Mia Lane.

After listening, Mia Lane let out a breath. "That’s good. Right now we only have one enemy—Eden, and the people behind him."

"Once Eden is dealt with, at the very least it will serve as a warning to the others," Justin Kingston judged. "Even if someone really does harbor treacherous thoughts, they’ll choose to rein themselves in."

So tonight’s operation could only succeed; failure was not an option.

The rain was still falling in a fine, continuous drizzle.

Inside the Princess Consort’s palace.

"Julie, do you want to see a doctor?" Catherine asked as soon as she saw her early that morning, unable to hide her worry. "You look terrible."

"I didn’t sleep well last night, that’s all. No other problems." Julie looked at her. "I keep feeling that a storm is coming. Once the King is gone and Louis inherits the throne, how could Eden possibly not make a move?"

"That’s why we have to take care of Eden before the King passes," Catherine asked her. "Do you have a good plan?"

"The best timing is when the King dies. When the entire nation is in mourning, even if Eden dies, no one will have the energy to dig deeply into the cause." Julie had already thought this through.

And Catherine also felt it made sense.

"Someone just brought word that the King coughed up blood again this morning." Catherine’s face was pained, a sense of helplessness wrapping her up. "He may not last a week."

"Your Highness, you must stay strong. You still have Prince Taylor."

"If not for Taylor, I’m afraid I’d follow him in death. But now that Louis has returned, I can’t even manage to see him once."

So Catherine had no appetite at all for breakfast.

And for the entire day, Eden was not himself; the rain beating down only agitated him more.

In the blink of an eye, it was evening.
