Chapter 1736: Julie Receives a Phone Call

The rain intensified, the gloomy sky seemed to collapse, and lifting one’s gaze could see lightning strikes like successive dragons.

Occasional rolling thunder resounded through the clouds, deafening!

Frightened maidservants and princes and princesses, both inside and outside the royal family, covered their ears, afraid to be alone.

The heavy rain was like the sky falling, ferociously beating down, seemingly ready to crush the castle.

A layer of mist like smoke or clouds rose instantly from the rooftops and ground, obscuring vision.

In Julie’s private dining room, the lighting was warmly yellow, elegantly arranged.

Servants brought her exquisite and delicious food one by one, "Captain, enjoy your meal." When all the dishes were served, the servants turned and left, closing the door considerately.

The meal wasn’t just dinner; it was elegance, nutrition, and luxury.

The aroma of fish and steak on the table was especially tempting, and Julie, feeling unsettled all day, sat down in the dining chair.

Just as she picked up her silver chopsticks to eat, her phone rang.

Quickly connecting the call, she heard someone reporting to her inside —

"Captain, we just tracked someone snooping around Eden’s palace, possibly stalking all afternoon; his palace servants inexplicably withdrew some five minutes ago."

"Whose people are spying?" Julie asked coldly, "Why withdraw servants?"

"Unsure, it seems like CEO Kingston’s people, but couldn’t confirm."

Justin Kingston’s people?

Julie narrowed her eyes and asked, "What about Prince Louis? What is he doing? Any actions?"

"The Prince is still in King’s chamber, not coming out; the rain fog is too thick, increasingly opaque."

"What about Eden?" Julie asked, "What is Eden doing?"

"Eden just left the King’s palace, likely returning to his chamber."

"Alright, keep a close watch for me. Something will certainly happen tonight; perhaps they were waiting for this shrouding rain. Keep your eyes peeled! Report to me immediately upon any situation!"

"Yes, Captain."

Just ended the call, preparing to eat dinner, another call came in; she glanced at the caller ID before connecting, "Tell me, what’s the situation on your side now?"

"Captain, there’s an inconspicuous door in Eden’s palace backyard, usually locked, now open."

This information gave the woman a heavy thump internally!

A thorough investigation indeed!

Looks like tonight’s focal point is at Eden’s, but Eden is Prince Louis’s uncle; what are they planning? Are they targeting Eden?

"Understood." Julie ended the call, put down her chopsticks and got up to leave.

She planned to investigate discreetly, deciding not to inform the Queen.

Justin Kingston’s plan for her was originally to drug her into unconsciousness, fearing she’d mess things up by tampering with her dinner, but those two calls stopped her from having dinner.

Before leaving, Julie deliberately wore a hat, changed into clothes she rarely wore, not business attire, and picked a large black umbrella.

The rain was too heavy, reducing visibility to less than two meters; dense rain fog severely blocked vision, thus concealing her better.

Having joined the royal family for years, Julie was meticulous and observant, familiar with every palace corner.

Moreover, with her status and position, she generally wasn’t stopped by guards wherever she went.

Therefore, she could move unimpeded.

But she had never been to Eden’s place.

Braving the heavy rain, she reached the location mentioned in the earlier call, the backyard of Eden’s palace, where a relatively hidden iron door was now in sight, weathered with rust, the previous lock also rusty.

A thing so difficult to open with a key was now gone?
