Chapter 1737: Unexpected Situation
So... they want to enter Eden’s palace through this door, but what exactly are they up to? Julie couldn’t find an answer for a moment.
Julie furrowed her brow slightly, reached out to push the door open, and the pouring rain quickly soaked her sleeve. She shook it off and stepped inside, umbrella in hand.
The rain was so heavy that it was impossible to see any footprints, so she couldn’t tell if they had come in or not.
Being in Eden’s domain, Julie proceeded with caution, constantly remaining alert.
Julie walked forward step by step, heading towards the palace, arriving precisely at the entrance of the emergency exit, where a closed door blocked her path.
This is Eden’s domain, so she had never been inside, but she had seen the blueprints.
She looked around, although night had fallen and the rain and mist were thick, making it impossible to see the surroundings. All she could hear were the sounds of wind and rain.
Occasional thunder rolled across the sky.
Julie held her breath in suspense, tentatively reached out to push the door, and slowly applied pressure, surprised to find that the door actually opened.
Just as she entered and was about to go upstairs, Jocelyn Morgan halted at the sound and turned her head. She saw that door gradually opening.
Jocelyn’s heart tightened bit by bit—who else could be here?
Julie’s figure came into view. In the warm, yellow light, Julie was startled at the sight of Jocelyn Morgan on the stairs!
As their eyes met, both felt a sudden tightness in their chests!
But Julie quickly exhaled, relieved that she hadn’t encountered Eden.
Jocelyn also secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thankful it wasn’t Eden who had come in.
Both were acutely aware that this was Eden’s domain.
Jocelyn glanced up the stairs; the King and Ian Shelby should already be upstairs. The King’s condition wasn’t good; he had suddenly started wheezing today and was trying to stabilize after taking medicine earlier.
Originally, they hadn’t planned for him to come, but he insisted on witnessing that moment.
Jocelyn moved down the steps and stood in front of Julie, her eyes tightened as she closed the emergency door and locked it.
"What are you doing here?" Julie asked, her gaze fixed on her, her voice calm.
She didn’t intend to cause any damage, just coldly stared at the girl, wanting to know the answer, her uneasy premonition strong all day—what the hell was it about!
Jocelyn knew she couldn’t keep it hidden any longer; if Julie caused any damage, all efforts would be for naught.
Thus, without consulting anyone, Jocelyn decided to tell her the plan.
Jocelyn asked, "Do you think the King’s illness is normal?"
"What do you mean?" Julie asked, her eyes indifferent, indeed not understanding.
"He’s not sick at all," Jocelyn confessed. "He’s been chronically poisoned, taking it for five years, maybe even longer."
Julie was shocked but didn’t believe it.
She stared into the girl’s eyes and shook her head, "Jocelyn Morgan, don’t give me excuses. What secrets are you hiding? You’d better be honest!"
"Whether you believe it or not, I have to finish saying it," Jocelyn remained calm and unhurried, looking into her eyes and said, "The culprit is Eden. Would you like to go up and witness him confessing personally?"
Julie was loyal to Catherine and the King.
For this reason, Jocelyn was truthful in her confession.
"The King is also upstairs, along with Prince Louis, Mr. Kingston, and Mrs. Kingston. Originally planned to inform you all once it was done, but since you’re here, you’re welcome to be part of it."
Julie showed no expression, with the large black umbrella in her hand continuously dripping water.
Having said that, Jocelyn stepped towards the stairs; she had a bit of confidence that Julie would be interested in this matter.
Bringing down Eden—isn’t that her wish as well?
