Chapter 1738: Infiltrating Eden’s Palace
In the relatively dim light, watching the girl’s back as she ascended the stairs, Julie’s gaze deepened into an abyss. Coldly, she wore a stern face, and eventually she lifted her steps, following upwards.
The rain poured down, baptizing the entire world.
Hearing the light footsteps behind her, Jocelyn Morgan slightly turned her eyes, catching sight to confirm that Julie indeed followed her up.
Since she came, she surely wouldn’t cause trouble; she just wanted to take part and see what’s happening.
As Julie followed Jocelyn Morgan past the second floor stairway corner, she too headed to the third floor, thinking, so they have figured out that Eden lives on the third floor?
So is Jocelyn Morgan’s statement somewhat credible?
On the third floor, the palace was spacious, with warm yellow lights, silent to the point of coldness.
Justin Kingston, with Mia Lane, encountered Ian Shelby and the King, the four of them meeting.
"Where is Jocelyn? Why hasn’t she come up yet?" Mia Lane asked softly, "Didn’t you come over together?"
Just when Ian Shelby remembered, he couldn’t help but feel a bit worried about her, the door opened.
Everyone paused, their chests tightened, as they raised their gaze.
Fortunately, it was Jocelyn who came in.
Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, Julie’s face appeared behind Jocelyn, causing everyone to freeze again, heightening their vigilance.
Jocelyn Morgan knew she had delayed time, "Everyone, hurry and hide, Eden might be coming up."
After speaking, she glanced back at the woman behind her, "I told her about our plan, she followed along."
"King." Julie’s gaze stayed on the middle-aged man; inside, she was shocked that Jocelyn Morgan hadn’t lied.
Julie stepped forward two steps, respectfully saluting.
The King, assisted by Ian Shelby, right hand still supported by a cane, said "Hmm." He nodded and didn’t say much, "Everyone, quickly follow the plan."
Justin Kingston glanced at Julie, then turned around with his arm around Mia’s shoulder.
Ian Shelby supported the King, Jocelyn Morgan reached out and pulled Julie slightly, taking steps forward as Julie followed behind her.
Julie didn’t know the specific plan, she just believed in Jocelyn Morgan’s words, also amazed by Eden poisoning the King.
Eden’s bedroom was large, spanning two hundred square meters, connected to the study, with a screen blocking it. The study was also large, divided into a writing area and reading area, the design of the bookshelves complex enough for concealment.
Moreover, no matter where one hides, you can clearly hear the sounds from the bedroom.
Tonight’s rain was heavy, covering the sounds of footsteps.
The indoor lighting was warm yellow; the main light was off.
Ian Shelby prepared a small stool for his father, helping him to sit. Squatting by his father’s side, both were behind the screen, beside complicated curtains, with a row of bookshelves to their side.
The spot was very secluded, and their clothes for tonight matched the room’s color scheme; even if exposed to view, it wasn’t easily detected.
Julie saw Justin Kingston and Mia Lane directly hiding in the bedroom.
Jocelyn Morgan pulled Julie to hide behind the curtains, because she heard the footsteps.
Justin Kingston also heard, Ian Shelby likewise; this night everyone was on high alert.
Glancing at the time on the wrist, just one minute until the power would be cut off, why did Eden come up so early?
Justin Kingston’s brow furrowed involuntarily.
Amidst the torrential rain, the footsteps faintly came from the doorway; everyone held their breath, although all were well hidden, they were nonetheless exposed to the light.
Julie stood right by Jocelyn Morgan’s side, inevitably following the rise in tension, her heart held high.
How would the plan proceed?
Why did the King come as well?
Eden just finished dinner, though he didn’t eat much; perhaps due to his health, he couldn’t quite eat well.
After ascending the stairs, his mood was heavy, his stature tall, his steps weighted.
He was waiting for the King to die, waiting every single second.
As long as the King doesn’t die, he remains uneasy, unable to eat or sleep properly.
