Chapter 1653: They Are Truly Happy Now
Then Trevor carried the prepared breakfast into the dining room. For him, this New Year’s Day was the most meaningful, because he woke up to find him lying beside him.
"Shall I help?" Janelle Mills said as she was about to step forward, but he stopped her, saying, "You just sit outside, let me handle this. Be careful not to burn yourself."
She had no choice but to move to the dining room and sit happily in the white dining chair, watching him with admiration as he carried the sumptuous food to the table.
"Men who cook are the coolest!" she praised him.
"Really? Then I’ll surely get cooler and cooler."
"Hahaha!"
Today’s breakfast was very sumptuous, with pepper and salt spaghetti, milk, toast, egg custard, and chicken wings...
"Wow! There’s more?" She saw him put down a plate of crispy chicken wings and turned back into the kitchen. "Do you want to show off your cooking skills on the first day of the new year? You’ve made so much we can’t finish it all."
"We can eat slowly and chat without showing off my cooking skills." Trevor said humbly as he served two steaks, "That’s it, that’s it."
Then he took off his apron in front of her and sat down on the chair opposite her. "How did you sleep last night?"
Her smile was filled with happiness, which was the answer.
"Let’s eat." Trevor was also very satisfied, taking a sip of milk while saying to her, "You’ll have to slowly get used to living here."
She just smiled, not responding, and took a graceful bite of bread. "I hope we’ll be together every New Year’s."
"That’s a must." Trevor had this confidence. "This is a relationship that won’t break up, so if you’re dissatisfied with anything about me, just bring it up, and I’ll change it, but don’t mention breaking up."
"Okay." She smiled brightly. So far, Janelle Mills really couldn’t find any faults in Trevor.
Trevor ate breakfast while his gaze fell on the red braided cord on the girl’s wrist. He asked her, "Isn’t this bracelet not often worn? Why did you put it on again?"
"It’s New Year’s Eve, a moment of great significance, so I wore it." Janelle’s eyes always had a smile, and her voice was sweet. "I hope good luck stays with us in the new year and good things happen!"
"Then pass a bit of luck over to me, wish us double the good fortune."
"That’s a must!"
The two happily ate breakfast and chatted about parents.
"It’s strange, Sister Sterling hasn’t called me until now, not even sent a message, which is unusual. Eight out of ten times, the phone is broken."
"Perhaps... she’s already accepted me from the depths of her heart?" Trevor had this confidence and teased, "Look at me, how well I’ve behaved in front of your mom? Am I a reliable image?"
"Yes, yes, perfectly disguised," she deliberately joked.
Trevor corrected her seriously, "This is not a disguise; it’s genuinely good, but she can’t see it, so I have to slowly show it, let her see the complete picture from parts, and then reassurely entrust her daughter to me!"
"Strategic! Kudos!"
After breakfast, Trevor said to her, "I’ll take you back now, to pay respects to your mom for the New Year. I’ve already bought the gifts and then we’ll go to your dad’s place."
He took out a delicate box from the drawer, and Janelle Mills instantly recognized it as a famous Italian custom brand that only releases 12 models a year, requiring pre-booking, and not easily obtainable even if you have the money.
"You..." She was directly stunned and somewhat speechless. "When did you order this?"
"On the night I confessed to you," Trevor said to her. "At that moment, I knew we could definitely go on together, so I must prepare a decent gift for your mom this year."
"..." She was truly moved by him.
"Alright, alright, no more being moved, let’s go." Trevor got her into the car and then handed her a small box. "This is your New Year’s gift. I hope you like it."
