When Ye Shushu thought Lin Tianyi would argue, he remained silent and pushed open the bathroom door.

She lifted her gaze to meet his, and Ye Shushu frowned slightly.

"Are you really okay?"

"Yeah." Lin Tianyi nodded, seemingly not taking Ye Shushu’s earlier words to heart.

"Alright then, just be careful." Ye Shushu let out a sigh and released him.

Wiping his face, neck, hands, and feet was fine, but being in the same bathroom with him felt inappropriate.

After all, there are differences between men and women, right?

"Knock, knock."

Watching the door close in front of her, Ye Shushu couldn’t help but knock.

"Take it slow, make sure to be careful!"

She almost forgot how stubborn he could be, refusing to sit in a wheelchair despite his injuries, or even to be hospitalized.

So, Ye Shushu knew asking him if he was really okay was pointless.

If he wasn’t okay, he would still say he was, and there was nothing she could do about this Young Master Lin.

When Lin Tianyi came out after washing up, as he expected, he couldn’t find any trace of Ye Shushu.

Although it was his own request, it wasn’t the outcome he wanted to see.

He absently picked up the half glass of water left on the table and drank it in one go without much thought.

This wasn’t the glass he used earlier for his medicine, and Lin Tianyi knew that too.

Putting the glass down, he went back to lean on the bed.

He pulled the table over the bed, placed his tablet on it, and began working.

Though just a nineteen-year-old boy, he seemed very different from his peers.

He acted maturely and wisely, not showing any student-like demeanor, but more like a seasoned professional in the workplace.

With one person missing, the ward was particularly quiet, actually quite suitable for work.

Lin Tianyi’s expression was no different from usual, his fingers occasionally dancing across the keyboard with a meticulous demeanor.

However, only he knew that with that presence absent from the ward, it felt like something was missing in his heart.

About ten minutes later, the door to the ward was pushed open from the outside without even a knock.

"Why are you still working? Can’t it wait till tomorrow?"

Ye Shushu, holding two bags, walked straight towards Lin Tianyi.

Coming to the bed, she seemed to just remember the takeout in her hands and turned around to set it down properly.

"Is there something important? Can I help?" she asked, looking at the person on the bed with a gentle frown.

If she’d known how busy he was, she wouldn’t have asked him over for fun.

She recalled her words about him just stepping off a plane, and Ye Shushu herself felt tired.

He had flown back almost ten hours from over there, which was quite a hassle, and unexpectedly, this happened.

When Ye Shushu pushed open the ward’s door, Lin Tianyi paused his work and then quickly resumed.

It wasn’t until she came to the bedside and looked at him that he stopped what he was doing.

"Didn’t I tell you to go back?" Lin Tianyi met Ye Shushu’s gaze and asked softly.

"I said I’d keep you company." Ye Shushu smiled gently, "Is there anything I can help with?"

"By the way, if you’re not too busy, eat some porridge first, fish filet porridge, your favorite."

"Okay." Lin Tianyi closed the laptop and set it aside.

Ye Shushu gave him an OK gesture, took the packed food out, and placed it on the small table in front of him.

"Fish porridge, fish balls, and fish head. Luckily, I like fish too, so I can help you with some."
