Umi to Kaze no Oukoku

21 What is happening to the Hedge Kingdom?

Newlyweds Shaw and Lara spent their lovely days on a small island.

Shaw takes fish and shrimp at sea and makes the mansion's maiden cook. Sands greets Meryl when Lara and I are eating fish and shrimp that are just easy to cook.

"Meryl's here?

There's no reason for Meryl to come alone, and Shaw sighs that her honeymoon is over for Father's appearance. Lara also politely greeted Aslan, who became her stepfather, but she can't hide her disappointment.

"Shaw, not if you're relaxed. We must return immediately to the royal palace to discuss the Hedge Kingdom."

I was seen with a caged eye of resentment from two of my newlyweds, but I can retreat in an arrogant manner.

I protest to my father that Shaw must be on a really urgent business while Lara lets her youngest daughter help pack her simple bags.

"That asshole King Lutos bought three new big merchant ships in Leyte! One of them sent him back to the Hedge Kingdom. Something so suspicious."

Shaw does find it suspicious, too.

"No way I'm going to start a pirate..."

Aslan hummed his nose.

"Don't be stupid! Lutos isn't like Jalis or Hertz. Just because you pirated and went to war with the kingdoms of Laurent and Iran and thought they'd split the compensation, you'd be stunned."

Shaw tilted his neck wondering if he would start trading in earnest if he were not a pirate.

"An old big merchant ship would be enough for a deal, and you don't have to hide it first. Keep Ambassador Puffer away from the Royal Palace or something."

Aslan rides Merrill saying he's leaving first, trying to leave Shaw alone until he gets to the conclusion.

"Father, what is happening?

Shaw didn't even know what was happening to the Hedge Kingdom, so he moaned and asked.

"If you think about it, you'll see. Not if you're married."

That's what Aslan said, he flew away with Meryl.

My father left, so I could slow down a bit, but Shaw was concerned that he was declared to know too, and Love Love Mode blew up.

"Lara, I'm sorry. I have to go home to the royal palace and discuss it with Chancellor Flanagan. Something's caught on, but I don't know and I don't feel good."

Lara sighs at Shaw, who has become Prince Wang's face, and gives up that she has no choice.

"It was for a little while, but I'm gonna forgive you for being so happy. Let's go back to the royal palace."

Shaw hugged Lara and kissed her, but called Sands, who were non-billowing on the coast, to saddle her up or brace her luggage and the two of us flew off the small island.

Lara looked at the dwindling mansion, feeling sentimental and zeroing a grain of tears, but felt relieved when Shaw hugged her.

"I married Master Shaw..."

I can feel relieved that Shaw is holding me in this way, but Lara cemented her duties as Prince Wang and her readiness to get over the time she spends alone with other ladies who she doesn't want to think about.

Shaw returns to the outhouse, sees Lara settle into her room, and then goes to the royal palace to find Chancellor Flanagan.

"Oh, Prince Shaw, welcome home. What is King Aslan thinking about getting in the way of his honeymoon?"

Chancellor Flanagan suspects Shaw is going to call back to the royal palace and hide in the clouds somewhere else.

"My father was called back for the Hedge Kingdom, but he didn't tell me what was going on."

Chancellor Flanagan frowned as to whether he had used Shaw as bait to take him home from his honeymoon, but it is also true that King Lutos' move was dubious.

"Do you know King Aslan?

Shaw wondered if he would not give a clear mouth because his father would not leave the realm of speculation either.

"Think about it, they told me I could tell... I can't believe I'm not a pirate or a deal, but I'm buying three new big ships..."

Shaw thought he would ask his father again because he had an answer but couldn't reach it.

"Is that all the purpose of putting the ship on voyage?

Chancellor Flanagan flashed something in Shaw's words.

"Yeah? Besides deals and pirates...... yes! I forgot to discover the new route. The northern hemisphere above Sands Island is still blank."

Shaw is not a normal familiar map, but lets him bring from the office a chart of the sea that is filled in with the northern continent divided between the right and left edges. Chancellor Flanagan was also once again surprised that the northern hemisphere did indeed only have the Kingdom of Hedge and the Kingdom of Salam at both ends of the northern continent, and that no exploration had been undertaken at all later.

"Even though I was concerned about this blank waters, I was too busy with diplomacy and landfill wharves to put it behind me. It may have been drifts that kept Ambassador Puffer away from the royal palace or bought a new large ship that thought there was some kind of island or continent, or even a ship that had returned wrecked..."

Shaw looks at the map and seriously thinks whether the route from Hedge Kingdom to Salam Kingdom is navigable.

"It's a bit of a difficult distance. If you don't have an island along the way that can at least replenish just the water...... oh well, if it's a way to explore the northern hemisphere using Penang or Sands as a base, you might be able to do something about it"

Civilian Chancellor Flanagan was also a man of the Southeast Islands Union, so he had some knowledge of navigation, but considered this a matter for discussion with Minister of Military Affairs Dawson. If Chancellor Flanagan was trying to summon Minister of Military Affairs Dawson, King Aslan would show up and smack Shaw in the head wondering if he had finally noticed.

"It's not like we're getting married. What do you think will happen if King Lutos finds us first?"

In that word Shaw thinks.

"I think King Lutos would make the island he discovered his own territory. Father, what would happen if there were residents on that island?

Ask Shaw back what he will do when his thoughts are sweet.

"Sands Island had no problems because it was a deserted island. But I think that asshole King Lutos planned to send out an expedition because he had some physical evidence. That means it's possible that there are residents on that island..."

Aslan strikes his tongue as sweet as ever.

"Because there were residents on that island, and something that Lutos would hesitate to occupy for a moment? That's why all three of them bought large ships. We're going to increase our territory by force. So what are you gonna do? Are you satisfied with just discovering a new island?

Asked about his readiness as the Crown Prince of the United Kingdom of the Southeast Islands, Shaw delves into his feelings and thinks.

"I want to make an agreement as a counterparty if those residents are forming a nation. And if you're in a state before you make a state, I'd like to persuade you to join us as an island in the United Kingdom. We must, of course, increase our productivity in order to be a trading hub."

Thinking subtly differently from King Lutos, King Aslan and Chancellor Flanagan heard the idea of a sweet idealistic shaw.

"So what if the Hedge Kingdom tries to occupy that island?

Shaw is questioned hypothetically about an island that has not yet been discovered.

"Remember, as Prince Wang, you have pledged to devote yourself to your country. Depending on the size of that island, if you are determined not to want to give it to the Hedge Kingdom, then you are also prepared to fight King Lutos. Well, I certainly don't know what kind of island it is, but I have to be prepared assuming every case"

Shaw clenched his fist in a good way.
