Chapter 760 - 761: Contact Bingbing
"Okay, if I get in touch with them, I’ll notify everyone before tonight," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
Hearing this, Hai Wubian nodded, his gaze falling on Zhang Tianshun.
"Mr. Zhang, please prepare rooms for us to rest. We will make our move after dark," Hai Wubian said to Zhang Tianshun.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Tianshun nodded. "Of course. Please follow me."
With that, Zhang Tianshun rose from his seat, and everyone else followed him toward the underground space.
Lin Kuang, however, remained seated on the couch and began to contact Fan Bingbing. I’ve been thinking about this for a while. It’s not just about getting rid of Fan Wudao and his people. More importantly, I need to keep Fan Bingbing out of danger. If I can help her become the Fan Family Head, that would be even better.
He sent several messages without a response and grew genuinely anxious.
Fortunately, his phone rang at three in the afternoon. It was Fan Bingbing.
Seeing the number on the phone, Lin Kuang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hello, Bingbing," Lin Kuang said, his words tinged with longing. To be precise, she was his first woman. While the two hadn’t had relations, they had certainly been ’bare’ with one another before.
"Well, what’s the rush? Did you miss me?" Fan Bingbing teased, her voice full of mirth. It was evident that she was very happy at the moment.
"Of course. I’ve been missing you like crazy. Have you missed me?" Lin Kuang replied with a grin.
Hearing Lin Kuang’s cheesy words, Fan Bingbing’s pretty face flushed, but she was delighted.
"I’ve missed you too," Fan Bingbing said, sounding extremely cheerful. "There are only two days left until the assessment, when they’ll test the results. After that, regardless of whether I become the next heir to the Family Head position, I’ll be free. I’ll come see you then."
These boring days are finally almost over. I’m going to see the man I love soon! How could I not be happy?
Hearing this, Lin Kuang was overjoyed.
"Yes, but before that, I have some bad news for you," Lin Kuang said, his tone turning grave.
Hearing the solemnity in his voice, Fan Bingbing was taken aback. "What happened?" she couldn’t help but ask.
After some thought, Lin Kuang decided he had to tell her. "I don’t know how much you know about the Demon Sect, but I need to tell you that your Family Head, Fan Wudao, is one of its members. This information has been confirmed by the Wumi Building, and I guarantee it’s accurate."
Hearing this, Fan Bingbing’s body trembled with shock.
The Demon Sect... the Wumi Building... of course she knew of them. As a member of the Fan Family, a massive business Empire, their access to information was second to none. In her mind, the Demon Sect was evil, an entity despised by both gods and men. If you saw a member of the Demon Sect, the best thing to do was kill them! As for the Wumi Building, she was even more familiar with it. It was a place that trafficked in information. The saying, ’All news under heaven comes from the Wumi Building,’ was no mere boast; it was a testament to the Wumi Building’s immense Energy. Of course, the accuracy of its information had also stood the test of time, so no one ever doubted what came from it.
For a moment, Fan Bingbing was speechless. Although she disliked the Family Head—her own uncle—she still found it hard to accept that he was a member of the Demon Sect. The news was too sudden.
Hearing only silence from the other end, Lin Kuang spoke again. "Bingbing, I’m not lying to you. If you don’t believe me, you can contact the Wumi Building yourself to verify it."
"No, that’s not it! Lin Kuang, I believe you," Fan Bingbing said hurriedly. "It’s just... I’m finding it difficult to accept."
Fan Bingbing had a great deal of trust in Lin Kuang. After all, she had woken up naked in his bed, and he hadn’t touched her. How could a man like that not be reliable?
Besides, this was a huge matter. She could easily confirm the truth by contacting the Wumi Building, so it would be incredibly foolish for Lin Kuang to lie about it now.
"Right. That’s why I need your help. We need a way to get into the Fan Family estate smoothly," Lin Kuang said after some thought.
"That... that’s going to be difficult," Fan Bingbing said. "The area I can move around in is very small right now, so it’s hard for me to help you. If I make too big a move, it will inevitably raise suspicion. I’m worried our plan will be exposed."
Lin Kuang nodded. She had a point.
"Do you have anyone you trust implicitly? Maybe they could get us inside," Lin Kuang suggested after a moment’s thought.
At his words, Fan Bingbing immediately thought of Fan Bin. After all, he was the one who had secretly given her the very phone she was using.
"There is one person. His name is Fan Bin. You should have met him before," Fan Bingbing explained. "The only reason we can even talk right now is because of him. Without Fan Bin, we wouldn’t be able to get in touch at all because all my communication devices are being monitored."
Fan Bin? The name registered with Lin Kuang. He had met the man before; they had crossed paths back in the East Sea, and Fan Bin had left a good impression on him.
"Yes, I’ve met him. He seemed like a decent guy," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
"He is. He’s a good person and can be trusted," Fan Bingbing affirmed.
"Alright, then contact him," Lin Kuang said after a moment. "Just tell him I’m looking for him and have him call me. I’ll explain everything else."
"Okay. I’ll hang up and call Fan Bin now. I’ll have him contact you," Fan Bingbing said.
"Okay. And you be careful," Lin Kuang said, his tone grave. "It would be best for you to hide somewhere tonight. I’ll call you after Fan Wudao and the others are dead, then you can come out. Otherwise, I’m worried you’ll be in danger."
Fan Bingbing nodded emphatically, her heart feeling warm.
"Alright, wait for his call. I’m calling Fan Bin now."
With that, they hung up. Fan Bingbing immediately dialed Fan Bin’s number, while Lin Kuang waited quietly in the living room.
Barely five minutes later, Lin Kuang’s phone rang again. Seeing an unfamiliar number on the screen, he answered quickly. "Hello?"
"Mr. Lin? It’s me, Fan Bin," a man’s voice said, tinged with confusion.
