Chapter 752 - 753 Battle of Delar
The first floor housed over twenty Blood Clan Marquises, including two who were fully fed. Lin Kuang silently eliminated every last one of them, leaving no survivors.
Afterward, Lin Kuang ascended to the second floor, which was home to the Blood Clan’s Earls. Their strength far surpassed those on the floor below. However, to Lin Kuang, these Earls posed no threat whatsoever. It took him nearly ten minutes to clear them all out.
Next was the third floor. It held far fewer members—only five or six. However, all of them were Dukes, who were extremely powerful and held high status within the Blood Clan. Even Lin Kuang had to proceed with caution. These were Dukes, after all, and their senses were incredibly keen. He couldn’t afford to be careless. Moving carefully, it took him another ten minutes to eliminate all six Dukes.
Finally, Lin Kuang reached the fourth floor. This was the residence of a Blood Clan Elder, as well as two Lords. Needless to say, this lineup was formidable.
The dimly lit corridor was dreadfully silent, an oppressive quiet in which the slaughter continued.
Stealthily entering one Lord’s room, Lin Kuang beheaded his target with a lightning-fast slash. The Lord died with his eyes wide open, never uttering a sound. Lin Kuang slipped out of the room, gently closed the door behind him, and continued his work. He entered the other Lord’s room and repeated the process, eliminating him just as swiftly.
It wasn’t that these Blood Clan members were too weak, but rather that Lin Kuang was too powerful. Possessing strength on par with a Blood Clan Elder, he found it easy to kill these Lords and Dukes. This was especially true since he was launching sneak attacks. How could they possibly withstand a surprise attack from an opponent with the power of an Elder? So, their deaths were not unjust. On the contrary, their demise was entirely expected. It would have been strange if killing them had proven difficult.
Just one more Blood Clan Elder left, Lin Kuang thought to himself as he proceeded to the last room—the Elder’s chamber.
Without a second thought, he pushed open the door and entered. At the same time, Nameless flickered in his hand as he lunged forward at maximum speed. A flash of cold light streaked across the room as the sharp blade aimed straight for the Elder’s throat in a fatal strike.
Delar, reclining on his bed, was suddenly jolted awake by a strong premonition of danger. Without thinking, he rolled off the bed and onto the floor. The crisis averted, Delar couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Who’s there?" he shouted, quickly scrambling away to put distance between himself and the intruder. His crimson eyes locked onto Lin Kuang.
Seeing that Delar had dodged his attack, Lin Kuang sighed inwardly. He hadn’t actually expected a sneak attack to kill an Elder, only to severely wound him. The man’s vigilance, however, had allowed him to evade the blow completely, which was slightly annoying.
"Who? The man who’s here to kill you," Lin Kuang stated coldly.
Delar regarded Lin Kuang silently, his crimson eyes filled with an indescribable coldness and fury.
"Kill me? You think you alone can kill me? You dare to infiltrate a branch of the Fanzhuo Clan all by yourself? You’re courting death!" Delar roared, his voice seething with scornful rage.
"Is that so? And why do you think I can’t kill you? Because of your strength?" Lin Kuang asked indifferently.
He was in no hurry. Every other member of the Blood Clan in this castle was already dead, leaving only the Elder before him. Naturally, Lin Kuang wasn’t concerned. Even if his opponent’s strength was on par with his own, it made no difference. In the Skyline Realm, Lin Kuang was confident that he was unrivaled.
"That’s right. With my strength, you can’t kill me!" Delar sneered. "We’re at the same power level, and on top of that, I’m of the Blood Clan. You must be dreaming if you think you can kill me.
"Moreover, your assassination attempt has already failed. In a head-on fight, you’ll be even less of a match for me!
"Besides, this castle is full of my clansmen. With a single command, a hundred of them will surround you. Even if you’re powerful, you will undoubtedly die under their siege!"
With an arrogant air, Delar clearly didn’t consider Lin Kuang a threat, absolutely confident in his ability to kill him.
"Tsk tsk, is that so?" Lin Kuang said, his tone dripping with mockery. "A single command and a hundred of your clansmen will surround me? Then go on, give the order. I’d love to see just how many you have."
Hearing this, Delar was stunned for a moment before scoffing coldly. "Very well! Men, show yourselves!"
He yelled, his voice echoing in sonic waves throughout the room.
Lin Kuang watched calmly. He had already killed every other Blood Clan member; it would be a miracle if Delar’s call was answered.
Several dozen seconds passed. Delar’s expression turned ugly. Not a single sound came from the corridor. Not a single Blood Clan member appeared.
"Tsk tsk, where are your clansmen? Where did they all go?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but taunt, seeing the ugly look on Delar’s face.
At his words, Delar’s already dark expression grew even fouler. Staring at Lin Kuang, he couldn’t help but ask, "Did you have people assassinate my men?"
"No, no, no," Lin Kuang said with a grin. "I’m more than enough to handle that trash myself. Why would I need any help?
"I just took care of them on my way up. Oh, and don’t look at me with such gratitude. I was just doing what I was supposed to do."
Upon hearing this, Delar’s expression changed drastically. His crimson eyes filled with a mixture of rage and horror.
Lin Kuang assassinated everyone in the castle? By himself?
The crucial part was that nearly a hundred of his subordinates had been killed, and he hadn’t noticed a thing. That was the most terrifying part of it all.
The thought made Delar’s expression turn grave. His gaze on Lin Kuang sharpened with vigilance. If all these Blood Clan members had truly been killed by this one man, one could only imagine how terrifying his strength must be. Facing such an opponent, Delar didn’t dare be careless. A single mistake could cost him his life.
At this thought, Delar looked at Lin Kuang warily and declared, "Very well. I admit, I never would have imagined you could assassinate all of my subordinates. Easterner, tonight, I, Delar, an Elder of the Fanzhuo Clan, swear I will kill you!"
