"Didn’t you say people like this shouldn’t be left alive? So I helped you kill him." Lin Zifeng shrugged and smiled nonchalantly. He has killed countless others, so what’s one more?

"But you shouldn’t have killed him, right? Couldn’t you just keep him from escaping?" Su Ni was speechless. Although the Blood-Robed Monk was notorious, that’s a matter for the law, and it’s not like he can kill just anyone at will.

"If I didn’t kill him, do you expect me to hand him over to the police?" Lin Zifeng chuckled sarcastically and said, "Officer Su, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading out now. I assume given your current situation, you should be able to leave here on your own."

Lin Zifeng didn’t want to stay any longer. He was smart enough to realize that Su Ni accompanying him tonight to play was merely a means to catch the Blood-Robed Monk.

He thought Su Ni intentionally wanted him to bring her out for fun, but all along, he was just being used. Ah, police are indeed police; they possess a heroic demeanor at all times, probably due to their job habits.

"Are you leaving already?" Su Ni asked, a bit reluctant.

"If I don’t leave, do you want me to stay and have a meal at the station? Or have some tea?" Lin Zifeng glanced back at her, noting how her delicate face was bruised from dealing with the Blood-Robed Monk.

Her originally pretty face was swollen quite a bit, which inevitably made Lin Zifeng feel sympathetic, but from tonight’s events, he dared not continue to engage in a deeper conversation with her.

Coming out to play only to be used, if not for the Blood-Robed Monk, would she even have sought him out for fun?

"No, don’t misunderstand, tonight’s event was my fault, I shouldn’t have..."

"Okay, you don’t have to explain. I know you’re a public servant, bearing far more than the average person on your shoulders, but it can’t be denied that you indeed successfully roped me into your plans. Of course, this is the first time, and also the last time.

My beauty officer, next time you want to invite me out, let’s first play around, maybe I would be willing to help you out. Don’t be so assertive like tonight. Your face’s swollen like a pig’s head, you may not be in pain, but I’m heartbroken."

Lin Zifeng glanced at her with irritation, then pulled out a cigarette, turned around and prepared to vanish into the night.

"Wait!"

Su Ni called out to him again.

"Is there anything else?" Lin Zifeng did not turn back.

"If there’s a chance, I will still contact you, would you still come out with me like you did today?" Although successfully dealing with the Blood-Robed Monk, Su Ni wasn’t particularly happy inside.

She might have employed some tactics to win Lin Zifeng’s trust, probably making it hard to invite him out next time.

"Haha, that would depend on your performance." With that last sentence, Lin Zifeng indeed faded into the dark night, disappearing without a trace.

Soon, piercing police sirens began to sound closer, Su Ni walked to the Seven Fiends Club and, after contacting the police, reported the Blood-Robed Monk’s death to them.

Learning it was under the Death God’s assistance, all the police at the scene were dumbfounded... but Su Ni did not want to disclose much more...

Standing atop a tall building opposite the Seven Fiends Club, Lin Zifeng watched from a distance as Su Ni was helped into an ambulance by the officers. He dropped the cigarette stub that had burned to its end and then slowly turned away from the place.

At two in the morning, Lin Zifeng made a call to Black Hawk. Due to the late hour, he didn’t want to disturb Zhang Mengjie and others. He only asked Black Hawk to accompany him to check on the Twelve Warhawks.

After all, they were the brothers who exchanged lives with him initially and conquered the world together.

"Lin Zifeng, can they be saved?" In the underground chamber, Black Hawk gazed at the twelve intact yet motionless Warhawks, feeling mixed emotions.

After so long, during over half a year in Zhonghai City, ever since Black Hawk learned about the Twelve Warhawks’ situation, he really wished to rescue them, but unfortunately, there had been little change.

He entrusted all hopes and dreams to Lin Zifeng. Facing the Twelve Warhawks, Lin Zifeng also wished to awaken his once brothers.

However, he lacked the ability, even though his cultivation had reached the Sub-Saint Sixth Layer Heaven, and the Magic Bracelet’s capability was growing more powerful.

Maybe now there’s a glimmer of hope in awakening the Twelve Warhawks.

"I don’t know, but I have to try. Whether successful or not, they’ll always be our brothers in our hearts." Lin Zifeng shook his head, heavy with emotion, his heart like stagnant water.

He opened his penetrative sight, observing the current life force of the Twelve Warhawks, thankfully. Their bodies were strong and hadn’t shown any problems.

If the Twelve Warhawks’ bodies had any issues, Lin Zifeng would have almost gone mad.

"Lin Zifeng, there’s something I’m not sure if I should say." Black Hawk thought for a while, then hesitated. He didn’t know if he should voice his thoughts because keeping it inside was rather burdensome.

Maybe expressing it would bring relief.

"Just say what’s on your mind, holding it in is tough, didn’t we swap our lives as sincere brothers? Don’t you trust me?" Lin Zifeng smiled wryly, pulling out the last cigarette from the pack, lighting it up, taking a deep inhale, and leaving half of it for Black Hawk.

"Lin Zifeng, what I’m about to say might make you uncomfortable, but I have to say it." Taking the half cigarette, Black Hawk squinted and took a deep puff.

"Actually... I really want them to be awake, but we’ve changed now. We can’t be like we were before. I feel..."

"You mean...?" Lin Zifeng gave him a sideways glance.

"Perhaps leaving them as they are would be better." Saying this, Black Hawk felt half his burden lifted.

"These experiences from our Shadow Group to South Heavenly Gate, then to Holy Hall, I haven’t left Lin Zifeng’s side through these days. Maybe past memories are unforgettable, but if they truly awaken,

we might not be able to go back to the way it was."

"If possible, I would rather them stay like this, it’s what they really need." Black Hawk said with a flushed face.

He then lowered his head and smoked desperately the cigarette butt that was almost done. He knew his words might anger Lin Zifeng, but he had to say it.

Former brothers are past matters, now, if they were all awakened, it might be harsher for them.

Every one of the Twelve Warhawks was proud and ambitious; if awoken, could they still merge into their current group? Black Hawk feared that the Twelve Warhawks might complicate things for Lin Zifeng if they couldn’t join their Holy Hall group.
