Chapter 287: Spare Me
With that, He Yong turned to run.
He Yong was the only practice partner left, and Shen Daoxing wasn’t about to let him go. He reached out and lightly grabbed He Yong by the shoulder.
"You can go later."
With a gentle tug, Shen Daoxing pulled He Yong onto the training grounds.
"Yang, I’m no match for you! I surrender!"
He Yong yelled frantically, struggling to escape.
Just then, He Qian’s voice drifted over. "He Yong, you have indeed been slacking on your training lately. It’s time for a proper session! You are not to leave today without my command."
"Huh?"
He Yong’s eyes widened as he looked at He Qian in astonishment.
The next moment, a dazzling, five-colored light burst forth from Shen Daoxing.
What followed were He Yong’s miserable screams.
Shen Daoxing had benefited greatly from the previous battle. His control over the Seven-Colored Power within him was no longer as crude and unrestrained as before, where he could only blast it out in one go and then retract it.
He could now control each of the elemental attributes within it.
Wind Source, Wood Source, Fire Source...
Shen Daoxing carefully sensed each one, immersing himself in the process and experimenting with the power of every attribute.
This was, however, agony for He Yong on the other side.
"Aargh!"
"Gah!"
...
Miserable screams rang out one after another, echoing across the training grounds.
Before they knew it, the sky had grown dark.
Shen Daoxing, however, was only getting more excited and showed no sign of stopping.
With a loud THUD, He Yong was slammed hard onto the ground, a look of utter despair on his face.
He Qian stood just outside the training grounds, watching quietly, a wide smile gracing her face.
The night was beautiful. The moon was bright, but the man was even more captivating.
TAP, TAP, TAP!
At that moment, the sudden sound of light footsteps was heard.
Princess He Qian turned to see an old eunuch walking toward her respectfully.
"Your Highness."
The old eunuch came to He Qian’s side and bowed respectfully. "His Majesty wishes to see you."
He Qian froze for a second. She glanced back at Shen Daoxing and hesitated for a moment before standing up.
He Qian then followed the old eunuch, hurrying toward the imperial palace.
Soon, He Qian was back inside the palace grounds, but she realized this wasn’t the way to her father’s royal chambers. Frowning, she said, "This isn’t the way to Father’s Qianning Palace."
The old eunuch leading the way said nothing, simply walking on with his head lowered.
Soon, He Qian arrived before a study.
CREAK!
The old eunuch reached out and opened the door for He Qian.
He Qian stepped inside, only to see that it was not the Tianze Emperor, but the Eldest Prince, He Yu.
"Brother, what are you doing here?"
He Qian was taken aback.
At that moment, the Eldest Prince, He Yu, was standing before a desk, holding a calligraphy brush and concentrating on a painting. On the white paper, a beautiful, captivating figure had been brought to life—it was none other than Princess He Qian.
He finished with a final stroke.
Eldest Prince He Yu picked up the paper and held it before He Qian. "Sister, look. This is a portrait I painted for you. What do you think? Is it a good likeness?"
He Qian, however, didn’t spare the portrait a single glance. "Brother," she said coolly, "you didn’t have to go to such trouble just to see me."
Seeing this, a look of disappointment instantly appeared on Eldest Prince He Yu’s face, and he resentfully lowered the painting.
After a long silence, Eldest Prince He Yu finally let out a slow sigh. "Sister, you should not have developed feelings for that man."
He Qian froze.
Eldest Prince He Yu continued, "Those outsiders are all venomous of heart. They enter our Tianze with ulterior motives and are utterly untrustworthy. You must remember, you are a princess of Tianze. You can never be with an outsider."
He Qian said hurriedly, "Young Master Yang is different."
Eldest Prince He Yu shook his head with a contemptuous smile. "How is he any different? Sister, have you forgotten our aunt? How she abandoned and betrayed us for an outsider, only to suffer a tragic death at their hands in the end?"
"I won’t be like that," He Qian said resolutely.
Eldest Prince He Yu shook his head again. "Regardless, a princess of Tianze can absolutely not be with an outsider. We cannot even allow an outsider to get close."
"Sigh!"
Suddenly, Eldest Prince He Yu heaved a heavy sigh. "Sister, I didn’t want to tell you this. You are my own sister, after all, and I couldn’t bear to see you heartbroken. But you are far too protective of him."
"Brother, what do you mean?"
He Qian stared, a confused look on her face.
"Sister, why do you think I went to such trouble to bring you here?"
Eldest Prince He Yu said nonchalantly.
He Qian started, realization dawning on her. "Brother, you’re making a move against Young Master Yang?"
"That’s right!"
Eldest Prince He Yu nodded and began to laugh. He then said with deep meaning, "How could a princess of Tianze be coveted by an outsider? Since that boy won’t leave, I’ll help him on his way. Anyone who doesn’t belong in Tianze has no business being here."
Greatly alarmed, He Qian asked urgently, "Brother, who did you send?"
"My teacher."
Eldest Prince He Yu said flatly.
"Wei Zhi... Wei... an expert at the initial stage of the Earth Profound Realm!"
Stunned and alarmed, He Qian quickly said, "Brother, quickly! Call Wei back!"
Eldest Prince He Yu shook his head with a faint smile. "Don’t worry, Sister. Yang Xing is someone you fancy, after all. As long as he cooperates, his life won’t be in danger. At worst, he’ll have his legs broken and be tossed out of Tianze."
"You idiot! Brother!"
But He Qian suddenly shook her head. "I’m not worried about Young Master Yang. I’m worried about Wei!"
Eldest Prince He Yu was utterly confused.
Eldest Prince He Yu couldn’t help but laugh. "Sister, what are you talking about? With Wei’s strength as an Earth Profound Realm master, you’re telling me he can’t handle some brat at the Ninth Layer of the Spirit Transformation realm?"
"Of course he can’t!"
He Qian said urgently.
...
The bright moon shone in a sky dotted with countless stars.
At that moment, on the training grounds in Tianze City, He Yong was running for his life with his eyes wide in terror.
In a blur, streaks of seven-colored light shot into the air like soaring Wandering Dragons, cutting across the sky. They closed in on him from every direction—front, back, left, right, above, and below.
Startled, He Yong hastily summoned his great saber and sent it flying.
BANG!
With a sharp crack, He Yong’s great saber struck a beam of light, only to be sent flying away with a WHOOSH.
Greatly alarmed, He Yong leaped into the air, trying to break out before the seven-colored beams could form a complete enclosure.
But in the next instant, the seven-colored beams suddenly accelerated.
RUMBLE!
A dazzling seven-colored brilliance exploded outward.
He Yong’s body carved a graceful arc through the air before he crashed wretchedly to the ground.
Shen Daoxing felt his control over the power of the Seven-Color Attribute growing more and more proficient.
He wasn’t finished yet. The Profound Platform within his body began to spin, and the Seven-Colored Power surged as he prepared to go again.
Lying on the ground not far away, He Yong was already wailing pitifully. "Yang, please, spare me! If this goes on any longer, I don’t think I’ll be able to get out of bed for days!"
