Chapter 226: Handsome Face Fails the Test
Damian followed the faint sword lights through the thick mist, and the deeper he went, the colder the world became.
The sword Qi around him was no longer sharp in a simple sense. It was far heavier, crazier, and almost insane.
Damian could not properly describe what it felt like, but he could say that every breath here felt as though he were inhaling shattered blades.
A while later, the mist finally split apart, and Damian arrived before a massive broken tomb gate.
The gate was half-buried in black stone, covered in countless sword marks, saber marks, spear holes, and strange cracks left by unknown weapons.
Above it, four ancient words were carved deeply into the stone.
[Forbidden Deep Tomb]
Damian stared at the words for a moment.
As expected, this area was special.
It even had its own gate, as if warning everyone not to enter.
He was about to open it, but before his hand could even touch the gate, the weapon aura inside suddenly rushed out.
BOOM!
Damian’s body shook violently, and blood immediately spilled from the corner of his mouth.
"FUCK..."
He nearly dropped to one knee.
The aura here was completely different from the [Core Sword Domain].
This place was not just filled with swords.
There were other types of weapons too.
More importantly, all of them carried terrifying King Grade weapon auras, the kind that felt like they had killed experts, buried clans, and watched civilizations collapse.
Damian’s injuries screamed at once.
The wounds left by Nolan’s [Sunfall Heaven Sword Scripture] reopened slightly, and the remaining golden-white sword Qi inside his body began to stir again.
Damian gritted his teeth and forced Chaos Qi through his meridians. "Dammit... just how the hell did that bastard Nolan come here?"
Right now, he was injured, half-empty, and walking into a place where even normal Golden Core cultivators would probably become meat paste.
Damian’s mouth twitched. "As expected, protagonist-type bastards are bugs."
That alone was enough to make him want to curse the heavens.
Even while bleeding, he did not turn back.
Instead, his eyes slowly brightened with greed. "If he can get a King Grade weapon here, then so can I."
The pressure pressed down harder.
RUMBLE...
Damian took one step forward.
His body trembled.
He took another step.
His wounds worsened.
Blood slid down his torn robe, and every breath felt like broken metal scraping through his lungs.
Still, Damian gritted his teeth and continued walking.
The gate stood in front of him like the mouth of some ancient monster.
The King Grade weapon aura behind it became thicker, colder, and more violent, as if countless buried weapons were staring at him from the darkness.
Damian raised his bloody hand and pressed it against the broken tomb gate.
His condition worsened, but his smile was still there, although it was weak and shameless as hell. "Come on, Sword Tomb... show me where my King Grade weapon is."
---
Damian was now inside the forbidden area, and he could not even walk properly.
He had used almost all his strength just to pass through the gate, and now he simply stood there, looking around in surprise.
The place was quite empty... too empty.
Yet even though it appeared deserted, the weapon aura surrounding him was many times stronger than it had been outside.
A moment later, a faint sound came from deeper within. It was clear, elegant, and quite strange.
A few breaths later, something slowly floated out from the darkness.
The moment Damian saw what it was, he froze in shock.
That thing was not a weapon at all.
It was a fucking pipa.
A damn musical instrument.
Damian’s mouth slowly opened. "What the hell? This is a Sword Tomb, right? How can a pipa be here too?"
The pipa floating in front of him suddenly released a soft laugh. "Hehehe... of course there can."
Damian’s body stiffened, and his eyes widened slightly. "You... you can talk?"
A faint figure slowly appeared above the pipa.
Damian could not see her clearly, but her voice was clear enough. "Of course I can talk. I am a sentient awakened weapon spirit, after all."
Damian stared at her for a moment, then nodded, no longer looking surprised. "I see... okay, so you’re an awakened weapon spirit, huh."
The weapon spirit’s smile twitched. "The hell? You accepted that fact too fast. Why aren’t you a bit more surprised?"
Damian waved weakly. "I’m injured, half-dead, and standing inside a forbidden weapon tomb. A talking pipa is not even the strangest thing today."
The spirit looked at him with interest. "Fair enough."
She circled around him once, her gaze landing on his blood-covered body and torn robe. "You came here to get weapons, right?"
Damian nodded honestly. "Of course. You should have met some other people before, right? Maybe a few years ago? Why ask me again?"
The pipa spirit simply replied, "I am just asking. We do not know much about the outside world at all, so I only want to know the current situation and whether the world outside has changed or not."
Damian thought for a moment, then said, "I haven’t lived that long, but seeing that you know about past participants, the outside world should still be about the same."
The pipa nodded. "I see. That is good, then."
Damian wiped blood from the corner of his mouth and asked, "By the way, how can I get King Grade weapons here? Is there something I need to do?"
The pipa spirit smiled upon hearing that. "Of course there is. What you need to do is quite simple. You just need to take a test."
Damian’s eyes brightened despite his injuries. "A test?"
The spirit tilted her head. "Of course. Do you think King Grade weapons will just follow you because you look pitiful?"
Damian coughed blood, then smiled shamelessly. "I was hoping my handsome face would help."
The weapon spirit’s expression twitched. "It does not."
Damian sighed. "Harsh."
The pipa spirit floated closer, and the faint figure above it looked down at him with amused eyes. "However, you are interesting."
Damian raised a brow. "Interesting enough to give me a King Grade weapon?"
The pipa spirit grinned. "Interesting enough to be tested."
Damian’s smile twitched. "That sounds worse."
The pipa spirit gave a slow nod. "It is."
Damian stared at it for a long moment before quietly cursing under his breath. "Damn it."
